The host was welcoming and very kind. The room was very large in a heritage building. Very close to the train station for ease of transport

We are from a different country and lifestyle, but very open to our accommodation and the way they live. We have never stayed in a property other than a hotel, so to have a host that was very kind and generous was truly appreciated. Thank you.

Location was great, convenient. Djami was a warm and kind host and gave us good information and recommendations. She was very understanding about letting us in after hours since I had an unusual schedule.

It was inconvenient not being able to check in before 19:30 and not being able to access our room during the day. I don’t believe that “shared bathroom” was clear during booking. We understood there was a room with a bathroom (meaning toilet). We had a shower & sink, toilet was shared.

The property is chic and stylish, the perfect mix of vintage furniture and modern appliances. Big rooms, plenty of space and storage. Big windows that open for those hot evenings, artistic mirrors and other useful items you might need whilst visiting. A clean space with your own en-suite shower (or two!) good water pressure. Also, desk space & wifi available for those who would need it. Lemons, grapes and tomatoes growing in the balcony, a homely feel. You are welcomed in by the playful Samba or you can have a chat with the parrot Napoleon in the living room. If you want a real experience of Marseille and the people from there, come to Chambre Liberté. The property is well situated with access to all major public transport routes. Djamil is a wonderful and resourceful host, a Marseille native with a good spirit and sense of humour. She welcomes everyone and makes them feel comfortable, I looked forward to chatting with her in the morning and would lose track of time. She nurtures such a friendly environment that you will find yourself chatting with other guests and making plans together. Best host experience so far. Thank you Djamil form showing me what warm, genuine hospitality looks like. Can’t wait to visit again, wouldn’t dare stay anywhere else.

The apartment was beautiful, the host was very friendly and interesting and her pets were amazing to spend time with. Every piece of furniture in my room was an art piece in it's own right, and all placed with consideration. Very convenient location as I was traveling by train. Note check in is not until 7:30pm, which worked well for me as I was out seeing the city/on a boat trip during the day. There is a left luggage just around the corner which is cheap and convenient. If you're looking for somewhere to spend the night and not the day, a fan of beautiful eclectic interior design and are fond of animals - this is a great place to stay!

Personally everything was great for me and my needs, however I could see how a late check in could be difficult for some.

Stylishly decorated house, with a warm welcome from the owner. She gives you tips for the neighbourhood and is always ready for a chat. You get to know dog, the cats and the parrot. The property is beautifully decorated with beautiful designer pieces. The bed is immensely comfortable. Breakfast was included, which is a big plus. She made us fresh waffles.

There was a beautiful bath but we couldn’t use it.

This was an unusual place to stay. You could see that at one time it had been a grand house, beautiful high ceilings and stone staircase. The bedroom we had was thoughtfully decorated but I suspect it wouldn’t have suited everyone. We thought it charming and our host lovely, obviously a big animal lover. Great location too.

Difficult to find in the dark, it would have been helpful to have more obvious exterior signage.

The breakfast was simple enough but good, bread cheese nuts coffee was good... if you wanted anything extra you could always ask. If you like animals then you are going to love the parrot, the room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. I you are not interested in hotels, and want to know the locals, this is a great place to stay.

only one thing I didn't like, I had to be out during the day and I had to leave too early or be back at 7:30 pm which was a little inconvenient.

We arrived at the place and did not know that such a spectacular spectacle awaits us !!! The hostess is just amazing and she is a wonderful conversationalist and very energetic women!! She let us take endless pictures, because the house looks like a real catalog !! Designer sofas and Victorian mirrors, very high ceilings and atmosphere rules that anyone who loves interior design will simply be mesmerized! The bathroom is really vintage and amazing, the room is spacious, cozy, everything is designed down to the smallest details, so beautiful! And very close to the main train station.

Great Design, very nice lady who runs the hotel. Love the atmosphere there. Happy that we were able to stay there with my doughter.

Unfortunately the new big dog isn't well trained yet and so he is too big and too happy if he sees new people and little children. I didn't got scared but it wasn't so comfortable if we were going outside the room. But the lady put the dog in a different room while we were eating in the morning.

Loved the old napoleon architecture of the flat and the interior design makes it even more special! and the beds are super comfy! Djamila is a wonderful and kind host and prepared a tasty breakfast in the morning. would definitely come back. :)
