Location was good although lot of "shady" people around. Room was clean but no wardrobe and in toilet no toilet brush. B/fast was ok if you stay 1-2 days but then become boring as they ALWAYS give the same. Would be nice if they include little bit of salads, eggs...not just salami and cheese. Coffee is horrible. Stuff was friendly and helpful. Also garage was safe.

b/fast should be better. Cleaning of room should not be just making the bad. And bathroom should have toilet brush.

Friendly and helpful staff, most of whom, speak some English. We stayed in room 340, a large room for disabled people. Walk-in shower, etc. Very comfy bed and large bed. towels included in room. Free good speed WiFi. One desk, one chair, some lights, several pulug sockets near desk. small fridge and safe. toilet paper provided. The large hotel is located about 10 minute walk from Saint Charle railway, bus and metro station. I think parking is available. Kettle and tea/coffee in room. Excellent continental breakfast on ground floor included in price. Lot of food, lots of choice.

Not much furnature in room. No plug sockets on one side of bed. No small tables next to bed. No wardrobe. Only one rail to hang clothes. Lift/elevator does not announce the floor level.

I had a great stay at this Japanese-style hotel in Marseille. The room and beds were very clean, and the bathroom was also well-maintained. The overall ambiance made me feel like I was in Japan, which was a unique and pleasant experience. Our room had a fantastic view of Notre-Dame de la Garde and Porte d'Aix, which made our stay even more special. Having breakfast included was a great plus, and the hotel's location was excellent—within walking distance of both the train station and the city center. Additionally, the staff were very accommodating, allowing us to store our luggage for a long time before check-in.

I did notice a couple of downsides. There were no slippers in the room, which we are quite used to having in Turkish hotels. Disposable slippers would have been useful. Also, walking back to the hotel late at night, especially from the Vieux Port or Canebière area, felt a bit unsafe due to the presence of some suspicious individuals along the way. For this reason, I would strongly recommend taking a taxi if returning late at night.

I love this place and always try to stay there when I visit Matseille for work. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious and have everything, including a small (and good) fridge. The airconditioning works perfectly well, the place is really clean, staff are very polite and helpful, the breakfast is generous, and there is space to sit outside next to plants. Most importanlty for me (who always arrive with a late flight and leave with a very early one), the location is 5 minutes from the train station where I can find the airport bus. Of course, sometimes the price goes up according to demand and I can't afford this hotel and have to look elsewhere which has been a disaster in some cases in the past. So I always check Toyoko Inn first.

The otherwise generous breakfast offered in this hotel could include non-dairy milk and non-gluten cereals and bread option for those of us who have allergies and intolerance. Perhaps the options were there but I missed them? If this was the case, please label them clearer.

The Hotel in General is fantastic! the reception were super nice and we asked for early check in, which they gave us, they were also really helpful, they kept our luggage and they helped us with explaining that transportation which we needed to go to the airport. The Rooms are great, comfortable bed, clean and nice bathroom with a Japanese toilet, there is AC and a kettle with some coffee. So all in all, great hotel, great staff and perfect rooms.

The location for me was a bit far from the city center, you have to walk for like 20 min downhill a bit to reach there, but there are buses that are like 2 steps away from the hotel that take you there and back. I had an issue with the breakfast, they said its from 6-10 am and I went down at 9:30, all I could find was cornflakes and some croissants, so that was a bit disappointing. But all in all, great hotel, great staff and perfect rooms.

My stay at the hotel was excellent in every aspect. The room was very quiet, allowing for complete rest. The mattress was especially comfortable, providing a high-quality sleep. Additionally, there was always hot water available for showers, which greatly added to the overall comfort and experience. It was truly a positive and enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately, the dining experience at the hotel was less satisfactory. The food served did not suit my taste, and as a result, I had to purchase meals elsewhere and eat in my room. This is an aspect worth considering for improvement, in order to complement an otherwise excellent stay.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Toyoko Inn Hotel in Marseille. The room was excellent – clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. The facilities were modern and well-maintained, offering great value for the price. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel was spotless, with high standards of cleanliness clearly upheld across all areas. Breakfast was simple but sufficient – a standard continental selection with fresh items and regularly replenished. Nothing extraordinary, but certainly satisfying to start the day. The hotel has a small bar that remains open until midnight, which was a nice touch for a nightcap or a relaxed drink before bed. Overall, Toyoko Inn Hotel Marseille offers excellent comfort, friendly service, and good amenities at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it for both short and longer stays.

While the neighborhood around the hotel can feel a little unsafe at night, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area, the presence of on-site security staff gave us peace of mind. Inside the hotel, everything felt safe and well-managed.

Good location, within a relatively short walk to Aix-Marseille University, Saint Charles station and the old port. The size of the single small room was comfortable for me, it was neat and functional. The air conditioner was definitely helpful in the hot weather. Very nice automatic bidet in the room and downstairs toilets, which is rare to have at all in budget hotels/inns. Not perfect, but decent sound isolation. Nice to have breakfast without paying extra.

Early check-in only possibly from 2 pm; I ended up leaving my suitcase and exploring the city for much longer. Had to wait a while (10-15 minutes) for the elevator a couple of times in the morning, but mostly it did arrive quickly. My room on the last (7th) floor was becoming hot without air conditioning during the day while I was away, possibly from the roof. The vending machines downstairs seemed to only take coins (not even euro bills).

As part of the Japanese hotel chain, Toyoko Inn maintains its standards in Marseille. The hotel provide everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel's location is perfect, just a stone's throw from the train station. This made traveling around the city incredibly convenient. The hotel had all the essentials, from comfortable beds. The attention to detail and cleanliness were impressive. If you're looking for a reliable, no-frills hotel with excellent location and service, Toyoko Inn Marseille is a great choice.

The only difference is that in breakfast there's no Japanese food as gohan and misoshiro like in other locations, this fact was very disappointing and a turnover than its counterpart Toyoko Inn in Frankfurt.

The check-in and welcome were efficient and friendly, and many thanks to Duncan at reception, who gave us some great advice and tips. All staff were friendly. The hotel is very close to the station and metro lines. It's also within walking distance to the centre of Marseille and the port. A wide choice at breakfast, and the local newspaper to read if you read French. The car park was available for an extra fee. It couldn't be pre-booked but was easy to access and gave peace of mind in the area.

The hotel is located close to the St Charles station (homeless people living opposite the hotel), so it's not an easy task to reassure guests. There was a guard to prevent any unwanted visitors from entering, which is at the same time reassuring and disconcerting. I would have liked eggs for breakfast, but I imagine this is a cost-saving initiative.
