The staff was extraordinarily nice and helpful. When some things didn’t go as planned, they compensated with some freebies. The place is super-clean, too, and the beds really comfortable. I would stay here again for sure if my stay in Paris, called for proximity to both Gare de Lyon and Gare de Bercy.

I had two stays. The first room was very tiny, but it was fine otherwise. However, when I got to the hotel, the wireless in my room didn’t work for a day and a half. Apparently, this was due to construction; the hotel is undergoing renovation. The staff fixed this and upgraded me to a bigger, renovated room at no extra cost. Then the internet when out in that room on my last day, for which I was compensated with a free breakfast. Also, even though the room for my second stay was larger, the bathroom was incredibly cramped.

I have travelled extensively over the years but few hotels match up to the Agate Hôtel's welcome and concern for the well-being of its guests. I arrived in the early evening, tired after a long day travelling. The gentleman at reception, rather than pointing me in the direction of a local café, made me a coffee himself! The next day,a different gentleman on reception, have me a card to use on the Metro. So kind! I offered to return it by post but he told me to keep it for my next trip to Paris! When I do return, I will stay at the Agate again!

Nothing not to like! Clean; excellent breakfast; comfortable bed; 24 hour reception . . . All good.

My single room was clean, not too big but with all necessary equipment, and overall very comfortable. It was near the lift, so I was afraid it could be noisy, but in fact it wasn't + looked over an inner court, so was extremely quiet. The location is absolutely great, 5 minutes from the metro (3 lines), rer and bus stops. The surroundings are full of shops, and on saturday morning there is a nice food market just in front of the hotel. I only had breakfast the last day, as I had to leave early and it is served from 7.00. Do not know if it is worth 13 euro, though. Maybe it is, in Paris, but I'm not totally convinced.

If you ask the reception, you can have a cup of coffee or tea at a reasonable price. I'd rather have a kettle in the room and pay for instant coffee/teabags, so to be able to enjoy a cup at my discretion, without having to ask the reception. But it's a suggestion, more than a (very minor) issue.

The room is small but well structured, however the heavy double door to enter the room is a bit of a nuisance, but not a major flaw. The reception is open 24 hours and features welcoming, helpful staff. The position of the hotel is great, a few hundred meters from Nation metro station, which is well connected to the rest of the city.

The breakfast could be improved. Considered the 16 euro charged, it offers a quite basic buffet. The food was not particularly inviting, perhaps also due to the fact that I arrived late to the party.

Property was clean and staff friendly and helpful. The property is a little out of Paris central however bus and train links were close by. There are shops/restaurants and supermarket all in a very short walk from the hotel and a coin operated laundry 3 doors away

Very clean, good service, good location, nice and helpful staff. The room, bed and shower was small, but still comfortable and, considering the budget, good value for money. The only downside is that interior walls and doors are thin so you will hear sounds from the other guests. We were fortunate enough to have our room at the end of a hallway, so with minimal sound intrusion, but if you are sensitive to sound I would recommend that you ask for a quit room specifically.

The person at the reception did everything possible to make our stay confortable, helping with the baggage storage on both the day of arrival and departure. The room has a confortable single bed and a clean bathroom with shower. Breakfast was very good and diverse for a 3 star hotel in France. The location is not far from Subway and RER stations, providing easy access from airport or Gare de Lyon.

The room for a single person is small, but this is typical in Paris. It was, however, very logically furnished, to make good use of the available space (which is not the case in many Paris hotels with rooms of the same size).

Friendly staff, approachable, we requested a kettle for the room and they provided us with it immediately, very helpful. The location is fairly good as it is near the train/metro station.

The building was under renovation (outer part) and this was not included in the description while booking (there was noise early in the morning and we would wake up). The lift is quite small and the hallways were quite narrow - this was also not included in the description.

Price. For Paris, I thought I got a great deal at 68 euros plus the 5-6 euro tax. Compare that to another capital city in another country. One night stay in a quiet and clean hotel with a nice view from the window and near central metro stations and trains to go wherever needed (for me, a museum the day of arrival and airport the day of departure). Plus luggage drop off before check-in time. It is what I needed before my flight out the following day. Easy to find. I'll give it a 10 for meeting my needs and for price.

Is a small nice hotel, well connected. I walked everywhere and didn't need to take a subway at all. If you need a subway or a train you can take it from Place de Nation which is just a few meters from there. Lovely, the staff is great. Rooms are small but that's everywhere in Paris. Beds are cozy, I slept like a baby and windows are big and there is a lot of light. There was a weird smell in my room due to the cleaning products they use.
