Fantastic location near to three different Metro lines and within the radius of superb restaurants and bars. Staff were very friendly and the hotel web site goes into detail of areas around that you might like to visit. You could walk into central Paris (the Pompidou centre) within ten to fifteen minutes and the Beauchamps Road seemed to have bars with reasonable rates (unlike some of the other arrondisments!). Whilst we were there Rue Amelot was closed for roadworks so the street was pretty quiet (although remarkably busy for a closed road). Easy access from Gare du Nord (Eurostar) down to Richard Lenoir Metro station and then a pretty short walk.

Rooms (and beds) were a little on the small size and basic for clothes' storage (a rack and a small drawer) but sufficient. Included breakfast was continental and very much to formulae- 1 croissant, 1 French bread piece, I apricot cake, 1 Pan au chocolate, 1 orange juice and 1 tea/coffee each morning with jam, honey, cheese spread and chocolate as additions

The hotel is perfectly located, it is a short metro journey from the station when using the Eurostar, on arrival the guy behind reception was super friendly, very lovely. Rooms are clean, cleaners came in during our stay too, which was only 2 nights, rooms are a little tired but it's an old building, but perfectly adequate. Vending machine downstairs is handy for water. The hotel is very convenient for travelling around the city. The nearest metro was Chemin Vert, but we liked a little stroll, so used Bastille, which was great to jump on the metro to anywhere you need to go.

Good location, close to a few transport stops, plus eateries. Friendly staff, always welcoming. Good breakfast service of pastries, yoghurt and coffee. Room was spacious though just a double bed. Shower was okay but pressure was quite light. Would've been great to have had facilities to make tea/coffee. Great to have a lift too. Overall, great stay.

The room was an exceptional value for four people, which is hard to find in Paris at such a reasonable price. The room was as described and pictured: it had air conditioning, the beds were comfortable, the location was very near two subway stations and a bakery, and to make it even better, it is not located on an extremely busy street, which meant the room was quiet! The decor was cute, and the room was clean. It is hard to find a closer location to all the main sites! We could have walked to Notre Dam and the Louvre in 25 minutes or so. They also allowed us to check in a little early. I highly recommend Grand Hotel Amelot and would 100% stay there again!

The hotel is in a nice, vivid area, very close to supermarkets, cafés, boulangeries etc. as well as to the metro station. Staff very friendly and helpful. In fact, they gave us an early check in. The room was very clean and tidy, spacious enough for two people. Some noise is expected as the rooms overlook the street. Everyday cleaning is also provided.

The only drawback for us is the breakfast which is extremely poor. There is no buffet. Instead they serve you a basket with one baguette, two small croissants, two butters, two jams, two nutellas. A tiny glass of orange juice is also served and a coffee. No eggs, vegetables, fruits, yoghurt, olives, cheese, ham, omelette etc. There's no healthy option but gluten and sugar.

Very overpriced! basic hotel rooms, dated, worn carpets and curtains just hanging on a few hooks. Booked quadruple room for two of us, and still very small. Would have been very unpleasant and interesting having four people stay in this room.

The staff were fabulous. Friendly and helpful with suggestions for getting around Paris by transit, accommodating requests, restaurants, and booking airport transport. The breakfast was a typical French one, with good coffee, fresh, warm croissants and other breakfast pastries. The location is fabulous, a great neighbourhood, close to the metro.

Not a criticism of this hotel, but Paris is expensive and expectations for hotels need to be realistic. The rooms are small and basic. However, very clean and comfortable.

This was our first international trip as a family of three, so we weren't sure exactly what to expect. Grand Hotel Amelot was a beautiful introduction to Paris. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always helpful. For example, we bought a bottle of wine from a local market to enjoy in the room. We realized we hadn't purchased a corkscrew. The gentleman working the front desk couldn't find theirs, so he was kind enough to go across the street to a restaurant and have them open it instead. Each morning, we were greeted with a fond "bonjour, bon journee!" The hotel's breakfast is a fantastic way to start your day in Paris. The breads are freshly baked and very tasty. It's not an extensive selection of food, but it's easy and exactly what we needed to get our day started. The service is very personal from the staff (who speak English) and we felt very welcome during the entire stay. Are the rooms small? Yes, but why are you going to Paris to sit in your hotel room? The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower water was always hot. We had an interior-facing room that was quiet and only noisy if other hotel guests were noisy returning to their room. The air conditioner blows ice cold, which is very refreshing after a hot day in the city.

The only complaint we have was that the water that splashes out from the shower made the floor slippery. We were careful and used a few extra towels to keep from slipping, but it wasn't a huge problem for us. It just requires you to slow down and take things carefully.
