Short walking distance to Gare de Lyon station. Distinctive older building but refurbished and up to date. Good breakfast but has small breakfast room. Rooms can be small but bathroom (esp. shower) is roomy enough & no complaints. Many eateries around the area so you won’t go hungry. There is a 'fruit de Mer' brasserie near the hotel and across from the station that seemed quite popular when I was there. No. 1 Metro has separate entrance in front of (as well as inside) the station with access to other lines. Convenient for overnight transfers.

My single room , 305, had a broken air con system that made lots of noise when on and not much else, fortunately there was an oil heater provided that had adjustability (it was February) and was perfect for my purposes. I am mentioning this as reminder to the property to replace the broken air-con unit. I found out the hard way that if you press the control panel it will start noise making (and I couldn't turn it off) and if you don’t, then it will be quiet. Any way I had plenty of heat in the room.

The room was clean and smelled nice. Bathroom essentials and cattle for coffee in the room was important. I arrived early and was able to check in quickly. Was very nice that I did not have to wait another hour. While waiting for the room to be ready, the receptionist prepared coffee for me and showed the preparation technic(I assume for future consumption) . That was life saving , especially after a long journey. This little gesture felt very welcoming.

Second night I arrived to the hotel late and headed to the coffee machine to prepare myself a coffee in the lobby. I did not want to bother the receptionist as she was assisting guests with checkin procedures. I headed to the cupboard to get the cup for the machine. I saw the receptionist rushing towards me angrily and asking in a scolding way- “what do you think you are doing in the cupboard?!” I explained her I was preparing coffee. Her rudeness was surprising to me. I guess I was not supposed to pour coffee myself, but had to ask her. She could have explained it in a polite way and not talk to the customer like I was a criminal. :) I think she needs to be explained hospitality manners.

Good value, quiet location despite being close to a big avenue, with the charm of the old building . The rooms are a bit small but this is Paris … they are clean, internet works well .. It is important not to be impressed by the mature Lady at the welcome desk in mornings , the first minutes she seems a bit harsh and tough but she is actually a nice person when you get to talk to her (typical Parisian ;-) ) The guy in charge in the afternoons is really joyful and nice.

The toilets at the basement could be cleaner

Surprisingly quiet for the location. Very clean, comfortable bed, air con. Staff were very helpful when I checked in late after my train was delayed three hours. Unfortunately, didn't have time to have breakfast or use the Wifi. However, very good location for Gare de Lyon and connections through Paris. Will definitely book again.

Only negative is that lift doesn't go to the top floor.

The classic building housing this hotel is very attractive and resides in a really interesting area close to the Gare de Lyon station. The hotel itself was a delight - clean, comfortable and with warm, friendly and good-humoured staff. Everyone we encountered was absolutely lovely. We had a very enjoyable stay.

There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Location proximity to the train station, shops and restaurants was very important. Room had a classical appearance with fabric walls coverings, wooden armoire wardrobes, etc. Restroom had been updated, beds were comfortable, and I almost forgot the A/C and elevator. There also was a nice breakfast option. So, all in all, very nice.

Big shout out to Christine, the concierge at the front desk! When we found out at the last minute that our train had been canceled from Paris to Milan, she was so helpful in finding us alternative routes, she really went above and beyond…she even called our hotel in Lake Como for us as she speaks Italian. She was able to give us instructions from the hotel about canceling…she also helped us in planning our new route…conveying details about additional road closures…due to the landslide that caused our train to be canceled.

Comfy bed, room well cleaned and staff helpful. I appreciated staff cleaned the room and replaced the towels after our first night.

Because the decor is old style the layout of the bathroom is a bit tricky and small and the main room the curtains/ fabric walls/ carpet etc could do with a refurb but still it was very well cleaned considering.

Perfect location near Gare de Lion metro/train station.. has nice restaurants nearby and it is a nice neighbourhood. Room was nice and clean with nice view of the street and classic Paris architecture.

Only one lift but considering it is not a big hotel we did not wait too long for it everytime we had to use it. Everything else was fine.

The location next to the Gare de Lyon is awesome with easy access to public transportation (Train, Metro, RER, etc...). While all rooms give onto the streets, these aren't super busy, and the windows are thick double pane. For the price the value was great with large enough rooms, clean bathrooms and an awesome staff.

The breakfast could be slightly upgraded with more food variety, and a better coffee machine.
