Staff. At the reception, the worker spoke only Georgian, we tried to explain something to her with gestures and through Google translator, and we were able to negotiate, but I was surprised that she didn’t even try to use a translator or somehow understand us, although we speak fluently 4 foreign languages ​​including international English Hotel manager. She spoke Russian and English, she was nearby but was in no hurry to help with translation, correspondence on her phone was more important to her than guests, although when she wasn’t looking at her phone, she could tell us something... But overall, thanks to Google to the translator

I stayed at Star Hostel recently and had a wonderful experience. The location could not be better — just a 3‑minute walk from the central square, local restaurants, cafes, and even nightlife spots, right in the heart of Kutaisi’s old town . The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable — ideal for travelers who just need a tidy bed and a hot shower. The communal kitchen and living area are well-kept and useful if you like to cook or unwind indoors . Staff at reception were friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in ensuring a pleasant stay — big thanks to Ana and the team for their hospitality and local tips . They also offer services like bike rental, tours, airport transfers, and even a free shot of chacha as a welcome gesture .

One small thing to note: The hostel has limited washrooms, so sometimes you might have to wait, especially in the mornings when everyone is getting ready. It’s not a big problem if you’re patient, but it’s something to keep in mind. However, the washrooms are kept clean, and hot water is always available, which is great. Overall, even with fewer washrooms, the hostel provides good value and a comfortable stay.

Small room with comfortable double bed. Functional bathroom with hot water. Wifi worked throughout. Friendly staff, easy check-in, provided punctual airport transfer for additional, reasonable fee. Small terrace area open for use. Excellent location near centre of Kutaisi, shops and restaurants. (Though we didn't use them) there was a kettle and fridge available. Superb value for money. We would stay again.

The extra bed was rather hard and lumpy, and we had some rowdy Russian neighbours. But given the excellent value, we can't complain too much.

The best hostel in Kutaisi. Very clean rooms, toilets, showers. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable waiting hall with the possibility of cold drinks and a coffee machine, I liked the terrace the most, on the roof, a huge area, where all the guests of the hostel spend a pleasant evening. The terrace is really a great advantage and luxury, even more so because you will meet many interesting people right here and also enjoy the views of the city with a mug of beer in your hand. Special thanks to the manager, Ms. Tamar, for her attention and help. Each of the staff is very warm and sociable, they can speak several languages, and of course English. Thanks to each of them.

The bathroom size for the room is good , the bed is comfortable, has a chargeable washing facility and good drying area on the roof , drinking water , wine, cold drink available in house ,also helped me to book a tour . Had very good company here as all guests were quite friendly, went out with them also .

Individual rooms open in the common sitting area , can be a bit noisy at times , ( early morning or late nights ) if you are a light sleeper,it will be a little challenging to sleep.

Firstly, StarHostel is very easy to find and within walking distance to all the attractions in Kutaisi. The staff (aunties) are extremely friendly and give you the best room possible to ensure you enjoy this historical city well enough. Secondly, the room is clean, spacious, cozy, and comfortable. It offers en-suite toilets and an air-conditioner to rest well during hot summer months (June). Thirdly, the "living room" has a good vibe where you could watch the "EuroCup" and talk with fellow travelers from other parts of the world. I would highly recommend this place to everyone traveling to Kutaisi.

I liked the welcome of the staff. I was only staying one night because of a flight connection next day. I liked the cleanliness of the whole of the hostel, including the bedroom, sheets, bathroom and kitchen. There is a handy ATM just a short walk from the hostel and a nifty little convenience store across the road. I liked the large sitting room in the reception area which enabled us to get to know new people and socialise. What I especially liked was the bunk bed with a privacy curtain and wide extremely comfortable mattress with clean white bed linen, wall lamp and socket to recharge my mobile phone. The price for my stay was very good value and I have been considering a brief return in the future. Thank you for my great stay.

Central location, dorm beds with curtain and individual lighting. Spacious upper deck with lounge and huge drying area so save on paid laundry. Clean and towels provided.

Cyclist traveler be aware, have a lock. Wish there was a spot to park my bicycle but I still kept it indoor just inside main entrance. Some dorm rooms facing main street can be noisy but earplugs solves that.

Excellent location. Great A/C both in common area and dorm room. Good kitchen facilities. Great common area. Dorm room: comfortable beds w/ individual curtain, light and electricity socket as well as locker; patio door for fresh air.

Shared bathrooms only maintained by clean staff mid-morning so late evening/ early morning they are dirty. Dorm room is small.

Comfortable and good-sized hostel - at least I was lucky that the dorms weren't full. There are decent communal spaces (especially the balcony in summer) and security with luggage lockers in dorms.

No breakfast (despite being mentioned) and coffee only provided as a special favour. Would advise you to bring own teabags. Bit noisy at night because there's a loose speedbump on the street directly outside so every time a car goes past there is an allmighty clunk.
