I was a bit worried given the reviews, but I had quite a pleasant experience overall: - I had to checkin after 2AM due to a train delay, which is outside of their policy (as I understand it), but nonetheless I was able to do the check in and the man at the reception was very understanding and nice - the room was big enough, plenty of space to put my bags and belongings, and hang stuff - location is quite central in Hamburg, 5min to the Hbf by foot - I did not hear the other guests too much - breakfast is appropriate, not a lot of sugary or vegan options (they have vegan milk now, though) but I had worse in 3-star fancy hotels in Paris, and it is open for quite long - everything was clean and the shower and bathroom were good - There was a mini fridge in my room (but no safe) - It is very cheap (esp. since breakfast is included)

The main reason people so not like this hotel: it is located near the train station, and there are indeed quite a few homeless people and drug addicts on the path from the station to the hotel. I was never personally bothered during my stay, though. Another one is that the U-bahn goes right under the building, and you can hear/feel the vibrations every time. With ear plugs it is very manageable and I never had an issue sleeping. This was not an issue in December, but the rooms do not have AC so I would not recommend going there during a heat wave.

Great hotel in the city center. 8 minutes walk from the main railway station and 15 minutes walk from the very heart of Hamburg, where shopping centers, shops, restaurants are concentrated. There is also a Lidl supermarket within a 5-minute walk. Friendly and helpful staff. The room is very clean, snow-white linen and towels. There is everything you need and unexpectedly there was a refrigerator in the room, which was very helpful in hot weather. Breakfast is standard for such hotels. The only thing was that sometimes there were interruptions in the Internet, but this is a problem in many hotels, unfortunately Hotel recommended

I read some negative reviews about this hotel, so I want to correct them This is a great hotel, in a convenient location, near the station. The staff were wonderful: attentive, patient, considerate. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the shower a torrent of hot water. Breakfast was very good, plentiful and varied. This is not a 5 star hotel. If you want camenbert and smoked salmon, stay elsewhere for double the price!

It is an old hotel. The carpets are worn and stained. The decor dated. But, that was factored into the price. If you can accept that, this is an excellent place to stay. But for the decor, I would score it 9 out of 10.

Friendly staff, clean room, fine stay in general. I liked the shower (good water pressure). During my stay it was quiet.

This was my final and most expensive stay during my trip through Europe (Scandinavia included) for an economy room. Compared to other hotels I found it a bit too expensive for what you get. Breakfast is ok but basic (not many options and not everything fresh), room and amenities are basic. Location is near to the railway station, which is what I needed, but the 8 minute walk wasn't the safest (not the best neighborhood). That's not the fault of the hotel, but it is something to consider when you plan on travelling alone and return late in the evening.

The hotel has everything you may need for a short stay. Nice personnel, good breakfast.

They are punctual regarding the time you may have tje key for the room, 3 PM at the earliest. The area around the hotel is frequented by immigrants of all sorts like you are not in Germany but somewhere in the Middle East or the North of Affrica. The islamization of Europe is going in full force.

The hotel it Ideally located for Hauptbahnhof, making it easy to navigate around Hamburg, especially to and from the Airport. It is spotlessly clean and the staff are polite and efficient. Breakfast was great and plentiful.

The corridor outside my room was a little noisy, during the day when the chambermaids were working. but if your out and about this would not be a problem.

I have been at this property many times before. Now is under new management. The location is super. Within walking distance to the central train and bus Stations The room was big enough for one person, maybe two It has TV, Wifi and minibar Breakfast was included Lots of restaurants and markets I wish them luck in their new aventure!

Hotel was in a very central location close to all transport links but also walking distance to most attractions. Breakfast was good for continental style. Our room was spacious with a nice bathroom. There was a room safe which was free and easy to use.

Bar never seemed to be open in the evening but there were several in the vicinity.

Central location because by the train station. But the train station area is not the prettiest one… and not the safest one. The room was good and clean. The hotel itself is old school and I love it. Also buffet breakfast had everything you need in the morning. Good quality for a price.

The area and people around

It is not a five-star hotel, but it is fair for the money. Perfect location, short walk from central station and to Hamburg center. No problems with my late check-in. Room was small and simple, but clean and functional. Breakfast not luxury, but enough different food to choose. Would return.
