Very good breakfast, garage for the car near by (< 50 m), comfortable beds, Tapas bar in the house, nice restaurants and pubs around the hotel.

A hint if you arrive by car: If you follow HOLZDAMM street and turn right into AN DER ALSTER, you have to get immediatly / after 20 m into the right-hand lane to USE THE FOOD AND CYCLE PATH (Anlieger frei), which is parallel to the road, to get into Schmilinsky street. (No. 11 is on the left side, it's a one way street). We didn't expect to drive on a cycle path. But you can't turn directly from the road an der Alster to Schmilinsky street, you have to use the food and cycle path with your car. After ~150 m you can leave it right into Schmilinsky street.

Due to our late-night arrival, we used the self-check-in option. We had also arranged a garage spot in advance and were informed of the parking space number ahead of time. Entering and exiting the garage might be a bit tricky for less experienced drivers because of the sharp turns. The hotel staff was excellent — it was no problem to arrange a later departure from the parking spot, which allowed us to enjoy Hamburg without worrying about where to park. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection and regularly replenished items.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the reception staff to the cleaning staff every single one of them was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast buffet was great. There was a selection of hot and cold food each morning and it was all very fresh and tasty. The room was perfect for our needs, we spent long hours each day exploring the city, only returning to the hotel at night to rest and sleep. The TV was a smart TV so we could watch YouTube while we chilled out. The location was very central to the main train station, a 10-15 minute walk or <5 minute bus trip and the hotel was located to a number of vibrant and busy restaurants and café bars, perfect for evening dining.

We were sad not to meet the hotel dogs on our trip, we had read so many reviews mentioning them, but sadly they were on vacation.

The price offers and deals over weekends are great. The rooms have all necessary facilities. And the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. I arrived in the morning of the day of booking and they took my luggage even though the check in was at 3pm in the afternoon. I left the luggage with them and went to the city, when I returned at 3 pm, they carried my luggage to the 3rd floor to my room.

Maybe it’s because I am at the moment sensitive to dust due to sinus or flu, I was somehow smelling dust the whole time.

The location is wonderful - just 1/2 a block from the water in a beautiful neighborhood. Close to central rail station too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After I checked out, they held my backpack for safekeeping while I was out all day and I really appreciated that. The breakfast buffet was excellent and unexpectedly great for the size of the hotel. Carina, the restaurant downstairs, was spectacular - highly recommend it.

I had a couple of issues with the bathroom but, other than that, the room was comfortable and cozy.

Great location. Close to the Aussen-Alster Lake, lots of smaller restaurants in the area on the street Lange Reihe, when walkiing towards Main train station. It is a smaller hotel. The staff very helpfull and nice. Breakfast is good, with a lot to choose from and freshly served. Would love to come back in Summer and enjoy my breakfast in the nice green courtyard. We had dinner in the little vegetarian restaurant downstairs at the hotel - also a very pleasant experience. We really enjoyed our stay.

Well located hotel. The room was comfortable with private bathroom, tv, coffee and water, it has plenty of storage, a desk and a suitcase-stand. The hotel staff were friendly. Das included breakfast buffet was very good and until 10:30am. The restaurants, bars, supermarkets and the city bike system are all less than 5 minutes walking distance.

Really cozy boutique hotel with a fantastic location close to everything you’ll need. Restaurants, bars, the lake and public transport just around the corner and with a short walk to the central station.

The only thing I thought was disappointing was the quality of the pillows and duvets. They didn’t match the rest of the hotel quality and comfort. Beds was good though.

Exceptionally clean hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cute dogs walking round reception area. Room was as expected with size. Location was about 5/10 walk to hamburg train station. Very quiet. Good size tv, coffee making facilities. Room was cleaned daily. Overall a very good stay.

Bedding for a double bed was 2 single duvets which wasn’t a huge issue, pillows were probably due for a change which caused 1 nights bad sleep. Bed was quite low down to the ground but again not a huge issue for us.

Furniture arrangement made navigating the room somewhat challenging due to narrow space between the bed and the built in desk area that was along the opposite wall Having to step over the side of the the tub to shower may present a problem for some older and less agile people It would be nice to have a small table with two chairs by the window
