We spent 1 night. Accommodation nice, within walking distance to the center. Breakfast excellent, bed comfortable.

The unpleasant surprise came at the end. We arrived at 2:30 p.m. and left at 6 p.m. the next day. The hotel charged 40 EUR for car parking on top of the room rate, which is pretty awful considering that we parked for 6 hours after checking out. No mention of the fact that there would be a similar amount for parking anywhere in the booking. In addition, parking is a big adrenaline rush, nowhere have I experienced such a narrow and apparently, judging by the scuffed walls, very often unmanaged driveway to the garage spaces.

The overall style of the hotel and particularly our room was very pleasing and smart. The walk from the main station was short and easy. The room was very quiet.

There were two downsides to the stay. First the queue at reception when we arrived was very long and slow even though there were three people on the desk. Maybe some particularly difficult guest issues as later we saw there was no queue. The second slight downside is the area between the station and the hotel which feels a little rough/unsafe at night. Walking north of the hotel, however, felt pleasant and safe and you soon reach the sailing club and nice cafes and restaurants.

The room was absolutely lovely on the 7th Floor near the wellness center. The lift was fast to take us there. The minibar was great and kept our drinks and chocolates nice and cold. Bed was incredibly comfy, large bath tub and shower with full size mirror was also very nice.

Two things. The doors here are heavy and swing closed. The first time you walk into the room, you let the door go and it is scary how loud it bangs shut. Sane people would never do this twice. Our neighbours it seems were not sane and allowed the doors to bang shut all day and night. . as a light sleeper this is very annoying.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the ARCOTEL. The room was clean and spacious and featured everything one needs for a short-term stay (including a kettle to prepare instant coffee or tea in the room; there was no fridge/minibar though). There's air-conditioning in the room which made it easier to escape the summer heat, and they have refillable bottles for soap and shampoo in the bathroom (also suitable for vegans which is a great plus!) Breakfast was fantastic with a huge range of food and beverages to choose from, including warm dishes such as fresh pancakes and baked beans, as well as a "vegan corner" (one of the few hotels I visited lately that offered vegan spreads and even vegan cheese at the breakfast buffet).

Everything was just fine except for a little incident at check-in. The lady seemed confused and it took a while to check us in. When we got the key cards, they gave us the number of a room which turned out to be occupied. When we entered the room, there was someone in there still in bed (luckily not in sight), which was a very awkward situation for us, and I guess even worse for them! We understand that such mistakes can happen, but when we returned to the reception downstairs, the lady at the desk didn't even apologise for what happened :/ The location of the hotel is alright, it's close to the train station which is convenient - but the area is a bit dodgy and we felt unsafe there at night.

The room was huge for its money and it contained a wide desk attached to the wall and a comfy chair. The suite was soundproof and had a relatively quiet fan in the bathroom. The floor rug looked new and was pleasant on the touch.

How the breakfast was organized seemed amateur to me: the placement of clean dishes around the cafeteria make you walk a lot. In the suite the sink hole mechanism in the bathtub was standing out too much and made my feet hurt. The two power sockets on the desk were installed 90 degrees off and because of that the kettle cable was blocking the light switch above the upper socket and I was unable to plug a T-connector in the lower socket.

Exceptionally clean and quiet hotel booked for its location near Hamburg Central Train Station (less than a 10 min walk) and a local theatre that we were visiting. Rooms are very spacious and well presented. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful with a seamless checking in service. There are a variety of restaurants in the local area catering to many tastes. The security is impressive with a key card required for late night/early morning entry to the hotel as well as access to the lifts. Breakfast was more than adequate, running from 0600-1100 and a later than normal checkout of 1200 rounded off a very good weekend

It felt like the member of Staff on Bar duty did not want to be there and worked at his own pace. The local area is known for its refugee population and could be a little intimidating to some although we encountered no problems and were out and about until 3 in the morning. Also, clearly has a substantial LGBTQ nightlife.

The hotel was only 2 corners away from the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof). It had got very unique furnitures. The bed was large and amazingly comfortable. There was a Lidl in front of the hotel.

The elevators worked only with your room card. There was no door for the shower. It felt weird. Even the sink was covered with an unusual curtain. But the worst one was the street where was it located. It was not the hotel's fault, but the Steindamm street was really dangerous : gangs, sex workers, drug addicts and rubbish everywhere. It was not very safe feeling for individual travellers, but I had to learn how to ignore threats and to avoid any eye contact.

The room was large, the bathroom was large, the beds were comfortable. The room was quiet and there was a fantastic gym with view of the town. They allowed me to help myself to milk from the breakfast room to have with my tea.

The room was very hot and we were not able to control the aircon. This made for a bad first nights sleep. I called reception for help and the Asian woman on duty was abrupt and rude and told me if I wasnt happy i could change rooms! Very disappointing. The hotel is in a slightly seedy area, not a big issue for me but some travellers may be put off by the activity and police presence!

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Position is very close to U-Bahn U1 and Bus line 16. The former is not the best option to see the city (U3 is much better) but the Bus 16 covers the most famous places. Also U-Bahn station Berliner Tor (for U3) is about 10 mins by foot. Same for Central station (10-15mins walk) were all U and S Bahns are passing. There is a Lidl in front for basic necessities.

The furniture and carpets were old, same for bathroom that should be improved, especially for a 4* Superior as it is listed here.. TV had only german channels (only exception: France24 but in English). Some items were missing: no iron, no disposable slippers, boiler and coffee were present but only two coffee doses never refilled after the first day. Minibar service not present, but there is a mini fridge (empty but working).

Good size of the room, comfortable bed, underground parking, distance to the city center. Good space for breakfast. Short distance to nice restaurants and the lake.

I don't like open bathrooms in the hotels. Breakfasts didn't look bad but in fact they were boring comparing to other hotels of this standard. Very narrow parking space - from the look of the walls it seems many cars were destroyed there. Next to the hotel there is a big police building - although the windows are ok, you can hear police cars each night. The area is not very good for evening walks, unfortunately.
