Nice hotel located in a building with a different hotel on each floor that seem to belong to the same group. Given I booked an upgraded room, I was transferred from Fresena (floor 3) to Wagner (floor 1) which was convenient because of not having to take the elevator. Room was spacious with high ceilings, comfortable bed, and a nice view on the green area in front of the hotel. Breakfast was pretty standard but with fresh fruit which I really appreciate. The breakfast was lacking fresh nuts and fresh juices (the juice is from one of these typical hotel juice machines, it's called orange juice but has little to do with it). Staff super friendly, parking in the university parking garage great, just 150m away. There's restaurants closeby.

The bathroom was rather small and oldish, shower doors (room 14) could not close properly, the hotel should have a mechanic checking this regularly.

Single room is cosy and perfect for one person. There is a mini desk, wardrobe, heater, television with some German channels, and single couch. The bathroom is rather modern. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was warmly introduced to the hotel and the attractions that Hamburg has to offer by Frau Touria. My requests for a mini standing fan and kettle were fulfilled. I was also given a better room due to my week-long stay which offered an inner courtyard view. Breakfast buffet offers a wide selection including breads, new variety of pastries daily, ham, cheese, yoghurt, muesli, coffee, tea, fruits and vegetables. Breakfast room is charming and well-decorated. The hotel is located next to the Hamburg University campus. Other hotels are located nearby as well. The neighbourhood and surrounding areas are quiet and safe. It's only a few minutes walk to Dammtor station which is only 1 station away from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. The Aussenalster lake, Jungfernsteig, and supermarket are not too far away.

The heating system for the shower is a little faulty, which sometimes dispenses water that is too hot or too cold than intended. The bathroom is a little narrow, but there is enough space to move around. There were some surfaces that were a little dusty. No air conditioning, which may prove to be a problem during the summer months. Nonetheless you can request for a standing fan.

The room was exactly what I needed. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise coming from outside, which for me is super important. The staff is very nice and happy to help. The location was also good, walking distance from the centre and close to the metro.

Noise insulation with the rest of the hotel is poor, I could hear people in the corridor like they were in my room and the floor shakes when people walk past the room. It wasn't too much of a problem for me because I had to wake up early but it can be if you want to sleep in, at night it was really quiet. Communication with the staff was difficult at times because of my inability to speak German and their lack of fluency in English.

The staff at the property were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable stay. The location of the property was very convenient, just a short walk away from the nearest rail station and U-Bahn station.

If I was to be really picky, the bed was a little uncomfortable and the pillows a bit thin for my liking. The pillows could be rectified by putting a blanket underneath, or even just asking for more at reception. The bed itself could've done with being a bit less hard though.

The area seems very quiet and cozy. The city center is easy to reach on foot. Great breakfast with a good selection of different types of tea. Very polite staff. If you don't know German very well, you can communicate in English and even other languages. I would recommend this hotel to those who like to experience the German lifestyle and comfort.

Super friendly staff!! A great welcome with a drink:-) Perfect location- a quiet and beautiful neighborhood next to Dammtor so centrally located. The room was cozy, clean and quiet. I was a single traveler so bed was for a single person, which was comfortable and sufficient. Breakfast was great. Also when you leave you get a present.

There was a small staircase right from the door within the room, I didn’t mind but can be problematic for people with disabilities.

Breakfasts were very good, large variety of products also changing slightly from day to day. Perfect location for people visiting Hamburg University, but also very close to city centre. Very kind personnel. My flight was significantly delayed, but I could still collect my keys from the "key-box".

WiFi was very poor in my room, connection was often lost. Hair dryer was not very efficient and overheated easily. I was also missing air conditioning on hot days...

I had a lovely room with window to the inner yard, vintage furniture and a bathtub, which was one of the highlights of my trip. Lovely staff, comfy bed, cannot tell you about breakfast as I am very picky, but there is plenty to chose from, fruit, pastry, oatmeal, yoghurts, juices, tea/coffee, boiled eggs from what I recall. Walking down the hall to the rooms you can feel the genius loci. I just loved it.

The entrance to the building is not secured, the door opens automatically for anyone coming in, which was bit uncomfortable when returning alone in the dark.

The hotel is situated in the green, quiet area with beautiful architecture. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were fine, but any kind of worm food would make them much better.

The bathroom requires renovation, moreover it was cleaned not quite good after previous guests: it were several hairs here and there. The pillow was too soft for me, so sleep was not pleasant enough.

Beautiful old building divided into different hotels on every floor. A lift is provided. The area is the most beautiful in Hamburg, very exclusive neighbourhood. There are restaurants scattered but also a short walk to cafes, supermarket, hairdresser, ect. The staff are wonderfully kind, and delightful and go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect . It is also a 5 min walk to Dammtor Train station which has trains departing all over Germany and Europe.
