parking logistics: the hotel location provides no parking in the street, and public spaces are rare. The hotel offers good parking in a nearby garage, which is great. The downside, however, is that you can only check out after bringing the hotel parking card back to the hotel, which means that you have to drive back to the hotel, and park where it is not really possibe. A potential solution would be to provide a service where you can just drop of your parking card at the parking, zo you do not have to drive back to the hotel.

Absolutely perfect! We received drinks vouchers upon arrival to redeem at their bar. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The bar fridge was well-stocked with a great variety of drinks - not just the usual which made our stay even better, especially when we wanted a bevvy or two while getting ready. Two other highlights were the luxurious, roomy bathroom and the Marshall speaker (so good—we loved being able to play some tunes throughout!). Breakfast was honestly one of the best I’ve had so far: perfectly cooked eggs, a wide range of options, and even some healthy ginger shots! I just loved it :) Oh and I didn't mention how good the location was - but of course it was super close to everything and convient!!

Initially, I approached my stay at The Nikolai Hamburg with a degree of skepticism, especially since I had never visited Hamburg before and was uncertain about the hotel’s location. However, I can confidently say that my experience far surpassed my expectations. The hotel boasts an ideal location; it’s situated just outside the bustling heart of the city, allowing for a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to major attractions like the historic Speicherstadt and St. Michael's Church. This balance made it easy to explore the city's vibrant culture without feeling overwhelmed by the crowds. Upon entering my room, I was greeted by a modern, cozy atmosphere that immediately felt welcoming. Natural light flooded in through large windows, creating a warm and inviting environment perfect for unwinding after a full day of sightseeing. The attention to detail in the room's decor, with its sleek furnishings and thoughtful amenities, ensured every comfort was catered to. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast spread, which was truly exceptional. It included an extensive variety of options, from freshly baked pastries and artisan breads to a selection of cheeses and cold cuts, as well as a range of healthy choices like fruits and yogurts. Each morning, this delightful array not only fueled my day but also set a cheerful tone for my adventures. However, what truly made my stay memorable was the staff. From the moment I checked in, every team member I encountered was outstanding. Their consistent friendliness and genuine willingness to go above and beyond made a remarkable difference. Whether it was providing local tips or accommodating special requests, their dedication to guest satisfaction was apparent and greatly enhanced my overall experience. In summary, The Nikolai Hamburg is a hidden gem that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Good location to visit down-town and the Unesco World Heritage area. The hotel had a pleasant smell of vervein perfume. Nice room furniture, very refined. Very good choice of breakfast food, with the possibility to have à la carte dishes.

The bathroom was split in 3 areas: one for the toilet itself, one for the shower and the sink was in the bedroom. Everything was aesthetically refined but not very functional. In addition, toilet and shower room fans did not work and toilet room door did not close properly. For hygienic purpose, it would be better to have all the breakfast food more covered.

Lovely hotel and staff, perfect location, superb breakfast. On the whole it was wonderful, and a very comfortable place to be.

Had to move from our first room because the toilet door wouldn’t shut. This should have been noticed by staff before we arrived Then the air conditioning wasn’t working. We were given a fan which helped a little, but didn’t cool the room The fridge didn’t work It would have been good if the hotel had served food in the evening. No info given at check-in about the tablet in the room substituting for a room info pack, and the info on the tablet was poor/incomplete.

Excellent location to visit Speicherstadt and easily reachable with public transportation from the main train station as well as from the airport. The hotel is located in a small side street, is very quiet, and has a lovely atmosphere.Very friendly staff, well equipped and well designed rooms, and excellent breakfast. Our room had a lovely view out over a canal, but I think some rooms might have a not so nice view into a small inner courtyard. There is a small Spanish tapas restaurant next door. Very delicious tapas and good wine. A seven minute walk to the S-Bahn station to get to the airport.

Modern, fresh hotel with oustanding design elements. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, Loccitane cosmetics. Fast check-in and check-out process. We were lucky to receive our room well before standard check-in time, it was really nice gesture from hotel personnel. Welcome drink as complimentary drink was given at bar - possibility to have either glass of beer or sparkling wine :) Breakfast was exceptionally good with variety of dishes. Additionally cooked eggs are offered from menu (omlette, benedict, florentine etc). Very nice place with convenient location to all sightseeings.

Beautiful and cozy common areas during the Christmas period. The tree and decoration made it feel extra festive. The room was large enough, unique interior design, comfortable bed and very clean. Welcome drink at the bar was appreciated. Breakfast was good too and the staff that served were very friendly. Location was excellent with some restaurants in the area and walking distance to central Hamburg. Recommend cafe Speicherstadt Kaffeerösterei near Miniatur Wunderland.

Staff on the reception was ok, but not extra friendly or helpful, seemed a bit shy maybe. The shower space was not the best solution since the water would overflow on the room floor.

A beautiful hotel in a good location 👌 staff are friendly and it was spotless i did think breakfast was expensive but there was a good choice of food to suit all tastes. Bar was lovely Bar staff very friendly but only except card payment which I didn't like other than that a lovely place to stay beds are very comfortable overall stay was great and we enjoyed it.. we stayed because a family member was getting married

What’s not to like!? We booked the supreme room as I wanted a fabulous bath and it did not disappoint! The bath was awesome, the shower (which was a normal shower and rain shower option), and the overall bathroom were beautiful. We had a courtyard facing room which was great - it’s not a courtyard where people are stood outside making noise. The bed was so comfortable, there was even a chaise lounge. There was complimentary water and sweets. The minibar price list is on a QR code link. The breakfast was absolutely AMAZING! Juices, coffee, tea, beautiful meats and cheeses on the buffet as well as croissants, breads, cereal, and fruit. There was also a menu which could be ordered from (no extra cost unless you wanted extra eggs on top on the options) and that menu had pancakes, toasted muffins and eggs, and omelette options too. The staff were friendly, were kind enough to speak English with us, and we were able to leave our luggage before and after check in. The hotel was close to so much - 5 minute walk to Miniatur Wunderland, 10 minutes into the centre (Rathaus, shops, etc), but also super quiet.
