The room was very large and newly decorated. It was just like the pictures on the website. The breakfast was very nice, quite simple but very enjoyable

We were told by the gentleman at reception that the rooms for booking.com visitors are not in the hotel. The hotel seems to have taken over an apartment in an apartment block and converted it into 4 hotel rooms. This was across the road and up an ally The view out of the only window looked out on the small very scruffy carpark of this block. The approach and entrance to this room was very scruffy and felt very isolated and although inside the decor was good and as the picture on website it was not at all what we expected when we booked. As it was NOT in the hotel

Our room on the top floor was very spacious with wonderful views down the Rhine, looking at a castle in the distance. there was a lounge area with a sofa and a patio door opening out to a balcony with two chairs. the bathroom was very bright, clean and roomy with a large Velux window with Ehrenbreitstein visible over the rooftops. Breakfast was very generous with a coffee flask being delivered to each table which is a luxury these days. The restaurant has a wrap around glass veranda with open views to the Rhine river. Overall the hotel has a lovely feel with nice decor and finishes. Lovely walks along the river - short distance to the old town centre and all attractions and the central train station. It is in a quiet area - no traffic noise at all. We would definitely return.

The restaurant was not open - but we were able to enjoy drinks and choose nice wines.

The hotel is lovely, room nice and comfortable bed. There was a tree in-front of our window so river view was between the leaves, winter time would be fine when leaves have dropped. We arrived in the morning from Australia and could leave our bags. Breakfast was excellent, a good variety and value for money. We didn't want to venture out for dinner so had planned to eat in but sat at a table for 15 minutes, then given a menu then never returned to take orders. There were 2 other tables who got up and left so we did too. The only restaurants are near the train station so had to walk a few blocks. The second night we got some cold meat and salads from Audi to eat in the room.

The service in the restaurant didn't exist and they were busy with customers waiting.

The location was excellent. Manageable walk from the train station. Steps to the promenade. We had a large balcony that we used every morning and evening. For hours, we just talked and enjoyed the Rhine flowing past us. In our 5 months of touring Europe, this was the best balcony by far. The room was spacious, clean and quiet The breakfast buffet was hearty.

The bathroom was large. But the toilet area. The actual bowl was not spacious. It was tight. I am large. It was difficult to complete my business. However, I would go back. And ask for the same room

Beautiful hotel right by the Rhine in a quiet residential area of Koblenz. We enjoyed walking next to the river and there was plenty of parking, though you do need to reserve it in advance and there is a fee. Breakfast was excellent, amazing croissants and finally some hot water (Germans seem more keen on coffee than tea). Our room was large and lovely, it was very quiet at night. If you want something closer to downtown, be aware that it took us about 25-30 minutes to walk to the Deutsches-Eck. However, those looking for a relaxed stay that is easy to get to with a car will enjoy!

Everything was excellent. Our room appeared to be large enough to facilitate a disabled person. It was spacious, and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the shower excellent. We also had a large window with views directly out onto the Rhine. The breakfast was excellent with both sweet and savoury options. We were able to book parking directly outside the front of the hotel. We found the staff to be friendly, professional and very helpful. English was spoken by most of them. The location of the hotel suited us perfectly. A 15 minute walk got us into the very centre of town, but at night we were in a lovely quiet area.

Everything was great

First I was looking for a hotel closer to downtown Koblenz, but I am happy I chose Kleiner Riesen. From the café/breakfast room we could see the locals jogging and walking their dogs on the promenade along the Rhine and admire the big cargo ships passing by on the river. It was quiet during the night, and the beds were good. I liked the way the rooms were designed. The glass wall separating the sleeping area from the bath room adds a certain lightness and lets the daylight into the bathroom. Even if it was a single room there was a balcony large enough for a small table and a chair, and in the distance one could glimpse the castle Stolzenfels!

Possible improvements: Free parking and maybe a croissant in the breakfast buffet.

Obviously being able to sit on the front deck over looking at the ships sailing up and down the Rhine River. Our room was most comfortable with a small outdoor sitting area with a beautiful mural on the wall. The breakfast eats were delicious. And the walking paths with many beautiful flowers. And the two front desk customers were exceptional in answering our questions and being very helpful. And the clearing staff were polite and keep the floors very clean.

It was a non-issue given what we loved about the hotel

The location is actually quite good. It's easy to park, and it's only a 10-minute walk to the old city. The room was spacious, the breakfast was good with a nice view over the river. The beds were actually really good and quiet so we slept well!

The staff is mostly international with little German or English and most of them seemed very inexperienced. No effort was made to ask if we actually enjoyed breakfast or our stay, let alone help us find our way around Koblenz. The hotel is definitely dated, it's clean, but everything is seventies.
