Great place for great price. Location itself is great, some 15-20 mins on foot from the main railway station, but a bit off the center of the city. But the place itself is cool, on the huge alley with trees going up to a key landmark, the Water Tower. The room was way more spacious than I expected, and a corner room at that, so top marks. A working table, a tea table, a sofa, wardrobe etc, including a small fridge. Staff was great, I was offered a drink on arrival; they also server cookies at 4 pm for all guests. The lobby and other ground floor facilities are SPIFFY beyond belief - mirrors, "antique" chairs, books, LPs etc. Really cool place, if I am ever again in Mannheim, will stay there.

There is an elevator, but the "main" entrance, on the side steet, is via steps. There seems to be an accessible ramp on the other side through a neighbouring restaurant, but I do not remember now too well.

* This hotel distinguishes itself for its unique old-fashion atmosphere which makes it a real museum. Each detail on the decoration is worth having a deep look. Moreover, the hotel is giant, and features many different common rooms - we loved the Studierzimmer and Spielsalon. * The peaceful energy flowing around the whole hotel. * The attentive and warm staff, who assisted us on every enquiry we had. * Obviously we did not miss the 4 PM coffee & cake time on the hall. That was a great touch! * The location is very convenient, 10 minutes walk away from the landmark Wasserturm / Also tram stops are just 5 minutes walk away. * The breakfast was very good, wich a decent choice of fresh and warm food (eggs). * The room was ok, we would stand out the shower, which provided a high and pleasant water pressure.

* Points of improvement: The cleanliness of the room could be far better. The cleaning of the room is not done unless you specifically request it (this is written in some note in the room, but we overlooked that and the day after we noted that the room did not get cleaned, so make sure to request that on time before).

Location, lobby interior, stuff was very helpful. We received support and information from receptionist, and had a wonderful time at the GuitarSummit. Great city, and hotel location is just very close to center, and near to many POI.

The breakfast - choices for breakfast were very limited (1-2 types of cheese, salami, bread, croissant, eggs), no espresso coffee was available, and that is a deal breaker for me personally. In general, I don't find it was worth the additional price of 12 euros really. I would have preferred to have breakfast somewhere else, if I was aware. Anyways, I had to go and get espresso outside in a near bakery, Otherwise it was all clean, fresh, well served. I would strongly recommend as improvement and to make the service and experience perfect, in this beautiful city - to have a bit more choices for breakfast to make different people happy and satisfy their taste and preferences.

It was my first stay at Tante Alma franchise, even though I had it already booked for later this year in Cologne. Some branding remained from the previous hotel (Augusta), so it feels a bit patchworky at first but not a deal breaker. My experience is overall very positive: a comfortable, pretty spacious single room (double bed) for a good price. I loved those little design touches along the style of the franchise, even though they mostly were not very functional. Bonus points: great lighting design in rooms and the staff at the reception is super friendly at all times (+ they sell snacks and drinks).

You need to really like this "grandma" style, it's definitely not for everyone.

The hotel is in one of the nicest parts of Mannheim (Oststadt), but still a short walk or bus ride from downtown. Also, the Tante Anna is not just a cookie-cutter business hotel, but a real part of the community with a very tastefully appointed and welcoming lounge, a theater, a bar and a nice dining area.

It gets hot and humid in Mannheim in the summer months. It would have been nice if a fan or mobile ac unit were provided especially for the rooms on the upper floors.

The best pillows, and a comfy bed. Nice clean shower room. Possibility of leaving luggage and picking it up whenever. Friendly staff, and plenty of places to sit. Very reasonably priced. Good location for park, centre and station.

The coffee at breakfast wasn't good. The carpets were a bit stained and ragged at the edges, which didn't matter at all, but my room had a ex-smoked-in smell, probably from quite a while ago, and the hotel makes its no smoking rule clear. My windows opened onto a noisy main road.

– I was woken up by a door in the hallway slamming but otherwise I had a peaceful stay – Could have had a few more teabags in the room – Water pressure wasn't particularly strong – The normal blue industrial smelling shower gel is available so bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you don't like how it smells

The hotel is quite well placed, within 1.5km and easy access to the train station and city center. The style is quite quirky, liit has an "old style" vibe in regards to the way the rooms and facilities are decorated, so definetly a charming place. They are also very clean and perfectly functional.

The hallway from the reception to the rooms is a bit threadbare, as if someone forgot to finish off the walls. Even some random IKEA pictures on the wall and some mirrors would do it quite a bit of good. The contrast between the amazing beginning (reception), amazing end (the room) and the quite underwelming hallway in between is way too visible

Spacious room, renovated, clean and modern bathroom. Elevator to reach the top floor where the room was. Safe at no additional costs. Electric shades on the windows and very modern LED lighting. Heating was appropriate. Sound isolation great.

No coffee at breakfast - seriously? Also, some of the furniture was more than old, PU-leather was peeling of the couch. The twin beds dont stay together when pulled together, and its easy to fall in-between.

Friendly service. We'll organized. Easy to find, as it's on the corner of a major street. Close to everything. 0700 breakfast everyday, which is helpful, even on weekends. Clean, good sized rooms.

Parking outside is free, but hard to find. Hotels offers at 15 eur per day. Inwas lucky and found a spot in front of hotel but on 3rd night, only a block away.
