The decor was so cool. The staff was very friendly and even did research for us when we had questions about ATMS and the trains. The room had unique touches like a big canvas bag & portable speaker to be used during the stay. The location is great, quick walk to the Marienplatz and a step away from the main train station. As 2 females we felt very safe walking around this area, yes there are many people ‘hanging around’ outside but it’s Europe and you’re by a the main station so it makes sense. The breakfast buffet is a little pricy but worth it, great selection and tasty food. It was hot during our stay and the AC worked really well. I would LOVE to stay here again.
Nothing! Loved everything

A fantastic stay from start to finish. The hotel is brilliantly located — extremely central, safe, and walking distance to everything you might need in Munich. While the room was compact, it was exceptionally well designed, making creative use of the space without sacrificing comfort. Every inch of the hotel is thoughtfully curated, with a unique and playful aesthetic throughout. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the daily room cleaning was impeccable. The bar has a fun, lively vibe — a great place to unwind in the evening. A special touch was the complimentary minibar, which felt like a generous and personal gesture. AC also worked great
Everything was great, but it couldn’t been better if there’s a more sealed door for the shower, as it leaked outside a bit.

Beyond helpful reception staff. They were on hand to call taxis, even make change! They got us an iron promptly when we needed it, offered suggestions when asked, and spoke excellent English which helped us as we spoke almost no German. The decor of the hotel is fun and quirky - something to find around every corner. The bar on premises is great, and the dinner we had at their restaurant was fantastic. I would absolutely stay here again, and now want to check out their other locations!! My only note would be the layout of the shower and bathroom. When staying with friends - having the shower have no real privacy other than the glass door that closes (but isn't tinted or fogged), it feels like you're just naked in the middle of the room. Also practically speaking, it gets water on the floor a little too readily which can be slippery. I would at least add a privacy tint to the glass.

Location is really convenient right next to the train station. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I rented a bike to explore the city and they also assisted with purchasing a train ticket since I don’t understand German! Overall I was pleased with my stay and would return again.
I was ‘upgraded’ to an accessible room but did not like how it took a while for the automatic door to close (probably only a concern for a female traveler). The shower didn’t have separation from the toilet and the water drainage was not great so it got everywhere. Nothing major, just a couple of minor things that could have been better overall and I am still satisfied!

The Royal Bavarian is an incredibly cosy and seriously stylish boutique hotel. The rooms come with every amenity you could think of – they even throw in a free (yep, free) minibar and a UE Boom Box if you fancy playing your own tunes. Brekkie was top-notch, as was the coffee – not heaps of vegan options, but nothing I’d knock them for. The bed was absolutely brilliant – slept like a log and woke up feeling super refreshed. Exactly how it should be!
I was a bit unlucky with the room I was given. It was huge but quite dark, with just a small window facing an attic space and absolutely no view. Since I was travelling for work, it wasn’t a big deal – but if I were there with my partner (who’s a bit particular about these things), I’d definitely try to get a different one. I’ve also got a bit of a bed bug paranoia, so I always check the beds. No dramas – I didn’t find any, but there was quite a bit of hair (presumably from previous guests) between the topper and the mattress. I didn’t complain since it was just one night and I’m not overly fussy, but yeah… housekeeping could definitely pay a bit more attention to detail.

Quirky hotel with loads of character. Staff had excellent English and very very helpful. Although we did not use it, there was a gym and sauna available. Snacks and drinks in the room fridge free of charge, nice touch. Location is excellent! Right across the street from train station and not far from the metro station connecting to the airport. The underground shopping was also on the doorstep.
The shower had transparent door directly into the hallway of the room. Fine if you are travelling with partner or spouse, but a little weird. Toilet was private.

We had a delightful stay at this hotel, thanks to its excellent location. Just a 5-minute walk from Munich Central Station and a 10-minute walk to the city center and old town, it made exploring the city incredibly easy. The hotel boasts great decor and ambiance, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Our late check-in around midnight went smoothly, although our reserved room category wasn't available. The staff quickly fixed this by offering a smaller room and compensating with a complimentary breakfast, which turned out to be delicious. The hotel's cafe is lovely, with fantastic coffee and cake, and the bar is a great place to unwind. We also appreciated the free mini-bar in the room stocked with water, cola, and beer.
The mini-bar is replenished once a day, however, this is only done upon request, which can be a bit awkward. We had to ask twice for it to be replenished on one occasion. Another minor inconvenience is that coffee machines are only available in rooms from category XL and above. It would be nice to have at least a kettle in all rooms for a more comfortable experience. Despite these small issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for its convenience.

Loved the decor, the location as it was a stones throw from the main train station, underground station, tram stops and the sightseeing tour bus starting point. The staff were super helpful - I arrived in Munich about 3 hours before check-in and heading to another hotel (closer to the event I was in the city for) and I was allowed to leave my luggage at the hotel so I could go and explore the beautiful city of Munich.
In the evening I enjoyed a delicious cheesecake in the hotel’s restaurant and reviewed the menu potentially for lunch the next day. Viewing the menu gave a clear indication of their political stance and with what is currently happening, my conscience won’t allow me to use the hotel or restaurant chain again.

This is a truly awesome hotel with a very unique decor. The rooms are great. The restaurant and the bar are also great - so great that both venues always have a crowd. The location is great as it is near the old town. It is also across the street from the Munich Hbf Rail station to where you can take the S airport train to the airport. That is not only convenient, but also, so efficient. The same cannot be said about Deutsche Bahn regional rail trains with its endless delays and missed connections because of its endless delays, but you cannot go wrong with the convenience of an airport train across the street from this hotel. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. It is top-notch, artsy and well located in downtown Munich.

The room was nice and spaceous but a little bit dark despite being in the top floor. It was great to have A/C in the room. The hotel overall is nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would have loved to have more daylight throughout the day and at the same time I didn't like that there was still some light entering through the curtains in the morning before opening them. The breakfast was with 29€ quite expensive and from my point of view not appropriate for the breakfast offering, which was okay but nothing extraordinary. Furthermore, the gym was a tiny room with basically no equipment except for a treadmill. I don't think that it should be called a gym.
