The outdoor pool with the view was special, rooms were a good size with a terrace for fresh air, lovely comfortable chairs with footrests. Staff were terrific - particularly the ladies at reception. Free parking. Big comfortable beds and good pillows. The restaurant is excellent. Food and presentation first class and when we had one issue with a tough steak which can happen, it was whipped away and full meal replaced without query. The replacement was perfect. We could walk to old town and also had local bars and restaurants near by. This hotel is welcoming, super clean, super comfortable and a highlight of our travels through Germany.

Coffee in the morning sometimes good sometimes poor. Improvement could be made here.

The hotel is very clean, every detail is considered, check in was a breeze, room (Hamburg) was very well prepared, cleaned up and refreshed daily. The breakfast was one of the best in my life; excellent combination of good service and a large variety of products - from red caviar to fruits salads. There are also some nice facilities such as heated infinity pool, indoor pool both in excellent condition. It worths mentioning the whole personnel; everybody is smiling and is trying to make your staying as pleasant as possible

Parking is a bit unclear as procedure. There is paid parking (12 EUR/day) which is always available, free parking in front of the hotel , for 8-9 cars, (this one is used also by local cars) and another free parking area, 100 meters far from reception. If you plan to pay the parking, you'll be very happy about staying .

Villa Hugel was a fabulous hotel! It was beautifully decorated and staff were exceedingly helpful, professional and friendly. The pool area was lovely and all the little sitting areas were great. The rooms were great and food was excellent.

As we were driving in, we were a bit concerned as the area was not that nice. However, the hotel exceeded all expectations and our views were lovely. The drive out of the hotel was better so I guess it depends which way you're coming!

Really enjoyed our stay! Beautiful location with amazing views into Trier. Amazing breakfast with everything you could want. The gluten free bread was so good (available on request). The staff were so friendly and kind. The rooftop pool and sauna are in particular amazing and a highlight!

I didn't love the radio speaker in the bathroom which turned on automatically needed to be switched every time I went into the bathroom - but it was a novelty!

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was large, clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The spa facilities are excellent, everything you need is provided for you. Both pools are amazing but the outdoor one is perfect on a hot day. We ate at the restaurant, what we ate was delicious. The breakfast was exceptional - there was a huge range to choose from, eggs were cooked to your preference. We enjoyed everything about the hotel.

The infinity pool, indoor pool and sauna are great for relaxing with poolside service and impeccable view . The breakfast has lots of variety and tasty. There are lots of options on eggs and tea. The dinner was also great. Very good location to walk to the old town or to the park nearby. Walking distance to train station.

The WiFi in my room was really weak, always not able to access the internet. The shower in the room has water leaking that made the floor wet.

This is a beyond top notch boutique hotel located on a quiet street in a (expanded) turn of the century "villa". The staff exceeded our expectations in every encounter with a desire to help make our stay special. I do not recall any hotel or resort we've visited which took service to this level. While not cheap, the value provided exceeded five-star hotels in the U.S. The hotel pool was heated (to around 82 degrees), so we spent more time than expected swimming and laying out on lounge chairs. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and the food and service were superb. The breakfast buffet was the best we've ever had with more variety of gourmet food that one could hope to eat at one sitting. (We tried each morning.) Our room was very quiet even with the door to the balcony open.

The staff at Villa Hügel are extremely friendly and attentive, taking care of every detail - receptionists, bar staff, maids, etc.: congratulations and thanks! The view of the city is priceless and the breakfast is exquisite. The hotel is super charming and intimate. We would have liked to have stayed longer in Trier to enjoy all the amenities the hotel has to offer.

Parking is quite limited, but it´s ok.

Everything was above and beyond our expectations. We felt so pampered and spoiled by the staff during our stay. The hotel was quaint and paid exceptional care to details. Our rooms had robes, slippers, extra towels, relaxing spray for our pillows, and little extras that may not have made our bags for the trip. The property is very clean. Breakfast was amazing and had much to offer a variety of tastes. Dinner was fabulous (a reservation is required for dinner, but easily done). The staff that greeted and cared for us every morning was so personable, friendly, and attentive. The view of Trier at breakfast was peaceful and relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel! If we ever return, we will definitely be staying there.

There is not a thing we did not like about this place. They did everything so well, to point that we felt like we downgraded at our next hotel. Our only disappointment was there were no exercise facility outside of the swimming pools. We did enjoy the pool ; )

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was extremely comfortable, especially the bed. The location was just a ten minute walk from the city center. The staff was especially friendly to us and went out of their way to make sure our stay was great.

My wife loved the breakfast buffet. The selection of cheeses, meats, pastries was great. My complaint was I love scrambled eggs for breakfast. They made some for me but they were not that good. However, I was able to make up for it with their other choices. The wifi was an issue for me. I had a work issue come up and had a difficult time staying connected to the internet.
