The staff: reception, bar, cleaners and restaurant were all very friendly, polite and professional. Location was great. 15 min walk to start of Acropolis. The tomb of the Unknown Soldier across the road. Tour bus stop also across the road. 10 minute easy walk to bars, tavernas etc. Breakfast was more than adequate.

Above all the location is great, nice hotel, large room, good breakfast and helpful staff.

there was a problem with the air condition, the room was hot and could not be cooled down. air condition not cooling and window opens a little on a small part (security reasons?) it was un comfortable.

This is the hotel I stay at every time when I come to Athens. I'd like to thank Mrs Julia and her staff at the front desk for their friendly and professional attitude towards hotel guests. The breakfast is also fresh and the variety is truly wonderful. The breakfast staff is very helpful and friendly. The free Wi-Fi is strong and problem-free. The hotel is within walking distance of all the tourist attractions. There are many excellent restaurants in the area. The airport bus X95 is right next to the hotel, a 3-minute walk away. The hotel is very clean, and everything is perfect.

The hotel's location is excellent. Right next to Syntagma square, therefore walking distance to Syntagma tube station. Furthermore, all famous landmarks are within walking distance like the Museum of the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Monastiraki, Plaka, Thiseio, Ermou street (the most famous high street of Athens). The National Garden is right across the hotel, highly recommended for a stroll and then carry on down to Zapeion or even to the Panathinaikon stadium. Last but not least, the tram line passes right in front of the hotel, albeit slow it offers a nice opportunity to travel down to the southern suburbs of Athens, like Faliro and Glyfada (Athens riviera). The Greek Parliament is also situated down the road from the hotel, which means that this area is very safe! The hotel has an agreement with a car park on Xenofontos street right next to the hotel (there is an additional charge per day), which is very convenient if you are renting a car. The breaksfast was very good too, with a lot of choices.

Nothing that I can think of

1. Location is the best - all central Athens can be visited by foot, including Ancient Agora and Acropolis Museum; Syntagma Metro is 2 min walk, hop on hop off station and a huge beautiful park across the street. 2. Polite and helpful staff. 3. Delicious breakfast that starts at 6 30!! 4. Romantic restaurant at the top floor with a great view of Acropolis, Lycabetus hill and all Athens. Great fine dining type food, reasonable prices. Loved it! 5. Quiet room, no street/hallway noise at all (double standard, without balcony, not facing the main road).

1. Shower - not at 4 star standards at all. It was the only thing I found odd at this hotel. It's very very tiny and it has a curtain that sticks to your body when you shower..absolutely horrible. If you don't use the curtain, you flood the whole bathroom. It was very uncomfortable to use and I'm a petite woman, don't think a big guy would even fit. 2. Small room, but it was fine for us. 3.Uncomfortable big and hard pillows.

The Amalia Athens was the first of 4 in the Amalia chain we experienced on a tour we booked, and I really liked all of them. The Athens hotel is incredibly convenient, with Syntagma Square and the metro only a block away, and the national gardens right across the street. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony that looked out at the gardens. Staff was all very friendly and they were on the spot ready to help as soon as the taxi dropped us at the door. We got a thorough orientation to our room and a tour of the rooftop restaurant, which is a real highlight of this hotel. The food is gourmet-level quality and its panoramic view that includes the Parthenon and Lycabettus Hill is stunning. There is also a large dining room on the mezzanine level that offers a massive buffet breakfast, also excellent. Be aware that all the hotels in Greece charge a 10 euro/night environmental fee that you can either pay when you check in or have added to your bill, and also that the double bed might be that euro-style arrangement of two twin beds moved together. We actually wanted twins so just needed to move them apart - I'm not sure if they have a single-mattress, king option or not so if that's a critical feature you'd want to ask about that. Overall I thought it was great value for the price and would stay there again.

The hotel is good and in good location you can walk to the acropolis from it. It was clean, they furniture is food was good, i usually prefer to take breakfast in the city to enjoy a more authentic experience but since im traveling with my baby i opted for the hotel’s breakfast.

the furniture is a bit outdated and unsafe for children, lots of ruff corners. The hotel was kind enough to provide a cradle but unfortunately i didn’t use it since it had metal bars and curious 1 year old bumped his head while playing. I had one unpleasant incident with one of the staff where he saw my wife putting food in the plastic compartment that i brought for my baby and decided that she was taking food from the hotel to eat later. That made her a bit upset but misunderstandings can happen and i’m not mad. I would like to thank all the staff for being nice to us.

Amalia Hotel in Athens is the most incredible hotel. I would never want to stay anywhere else in Athens but at the Amalia hotel - beautiful views, incredible location, and excellent service. The restaurant at the top of the hotel topped it all with a great view of the Acropolis and delicious food not to mention the delightful service. We had a room with a balcony that had a beautiful view of the Panathenaic stadium. Our entire visit was magical thanks to the Amalia. P S the breakfast was amazing as well.

Obviously, the location is superb, which is why I chose it. The welcome from the lovely lady at reception was so great too - helpful and friendly - thank you. I wanted a traditional, comfortable hotel and a home from home feel. This suited me perfectly and the room was fabulous - spacious, extremely comfortable bed and a big balcony with a view of the Parliament building! Superb. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly.

A very clean hotel, in an unbeatable location. Super clean. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly, the restaurant waiters were impressive—very kind and well-mannered. Good breakfast.

Overpriced for what it is. It has two elevators, so there were queues and very long waiting times to go up or down (we were traveling with a baby and a stroller). Breakfast was fine, but the same every day. The gym is nonexistent. Calling that room a gym is an exaggeration. For my husband, it was very important to have a gym, and that’s why we chose this hotel. In reality, it’s a tiny room with just one machine, and that’s it.
