Amphitheater Cave Houses was the perfect place to end a 3 week Greek vacation. Minas, the Host, is the epitome if Greek hospitality. We arrived via ferry and he had arranged taxi transportation to the property. We would highly recommend communicating with him prior to your trip as his advice and excursion plans were exceptional. He arranged a sunset catamaran cruise we will never forget. The port was very, very busy when we arrived and having someone to meet us and traverse the uphill roads to the meeting point was helpful. When we arrived our gracious host provided us with cold water, numerous tips on restaurants, tours and general Santorini information. It is a walk to get to the rooms, but the view is the best you could hope for. Minas arranges someone to carry your luggage for you - a true gift. We ate out one night, but stocked up at the minimart which allowed us to enjoy yogurt/honey and pastries on the patio overlooking the magical caldera for breakfast. In the evening, why go anywhere else when the sun starts to set, the cool breezes begin and the lights of Santorini flicker all around you - enjoyed with a delicious bottle of Greek wine and Mamos beer. Your very own paradise. Room was clean, shower was great, nice fridge, kettle and cups for coffee, plates for our small meals/snacks. Excellent communication and instructions on all of our plans. To quote our host: We arrived as guests, but left as friends. We truly hope to return to Santorini and would stay here again.

Excellent location, quiet and safe accommodation. Large balcony, pleasant cleaning service, and friendly Amphitheater Cave Houses staff. I will especially miss Mr. Minas, who was kind and took care of us in detail, and Mr. Patros, who carried our heavy bags with a smile. If I visit Santorini again, even just to take beautiful pictures, I will definitely stay here again.

If you try to find inconveniences in this accommodation, you are a dissatisfied person.

The property is located right in front of the volcano and the view from my terrace was astounding. The owner Minas is and amazing host and was there to greet me and explain everything about the property and Fira, with great restaurant recommendations and locations of markets. He was always available for questions or anything needed. The room was of good size, had everything needed and was super clean as well as the bathroom. At arrival to the meeting point there was Miri who carried the luggage down the steps all the way to the property. I would recommend Amphitheater Cave houses to anyone and specially to female solo travelers. Minas made me feel safe and offer help with anything needed.

The views from the balcony are spectacular! Seeing the cliffside lit up at night is magical! Watching the sunset from your own private balcony without any crowds is priceless. The apartment feels large and spacious with the vaulted ceiling. I was happy with what we had for the price we paid. The location is convenient. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the bus stop and restaurants. Greek food is delicious! The staff was very friendly and professional. They go above and beyond to make sure you are happy during your stay. Minus owns the apartments and is very outgoing and informative. The man who carries your luggage up 100's of stairs to the street is built like an ox. He will take good care of your belongings. The apartment is kept very clean every day by the housekeeper.

Going to Santorini can feel challenging because of the stairs. I walked an average of 6 miles a day, including 60-80 flights of steps a day according to my Fitbit. There were approximately 110 steps from our apartment to the street. We are in our early 50's and an active couple. We were right to think, go to Greece now. We aren't getting any younger. There are narrow spiral steps to get upstairs to the bigger bed. The bathroom is on the main level. We chose to sleep in the twin beds downstairs because of using the bathroom in the middle of the night. The stairs and the sleeping situation would not deter me from returning. I just think it's something to consider if you have knee issues or other health concerns.

Overlooking the ocean absolutely very comfy nice and clean our room had a little balcony with gorgeous view very helpful staff specially Miri poor guy carried our bags to the room and Minas was very helpful informing us where to go and the the restaurants around us I definitely recommend this place Thanks Minas and Miri for your hospitality keep up the good work. The location was perfect. The views of the Caldera were amazing and it was only a couple minute walk to the center of town but far enough away that you didn’t hear the crowds. Minas was very welcoming and provided information about the local highlights, Miri was fabulous carting our luggage to and from the room (there are stairs) and Stavroula kept our room sparkling clean.

There’s nothing not to like.

The hotel has the best location in Fira! The view from our room was really amazing and panoramic as we could have view from Oia to Akrotiri and straight to Caldera & Thirasia island! It is a very clean hotel with comfortable rooms including all amenities! Value for money hotel! Minas (the owner) is a very polite, helpful & gentle man!

Excellent accommodation in the heart of Fira! Incredible presentation of the accommodation itself, focused on exactly those parameters by which we made our choice! The cleaning is simply incredible, so detailed that we were very pleasantly surprised! And the view of the sunset is the best right from our balcony 🥰

The location was perfect, overlooking the sea, and a great view of Thirasia peninsular. The location was in vicinity of Fira town. Making it easy to access food outlets.

The kitchen had all required crockeries. A microwave would have made it perfect. Though not necessary since we had all our food from out. In case you brought something back and wished to have later in the night, might require some heating.

From Claire & Sheelagh: The location with access to our personal balcony was way better than what we could have ever imagined. The beauty of Santorini at any time of the day or night could be easily enjoyed from our balcony or from the shared balcony. We loved it! Located very strategically with easy access to some pretty awesome restaurants/shops nearby and walking distance to the bus/taxi stop made moving around Santorini such a pleasure. Minas was also very friendly and kind, making sure we had cold drinking water at our arrival with the hot weather and the place is cleaned at request. Thank you Minas for your beautiful hospitality. If we ever returned to Santorini again, Amphitheater Cave House will definitely be our choice!
