We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and cleaned daily. We were lucky to receive an upgrade from our host, Anastasia, who is absolutely wonderful! We stayed in a huge room with a gigantic and very comfortable bed – we especially appreciated the Coco Mat mattress. She also kindly arranged a late check-out for us, which we were very grateful for. The hotel is located right on the beachfront. I believe it has around 11 rooms, most of them offering stunning sea views. The sandy beach is literally in front of the hotel – small but with a few sunbeds and umbrellas. There’s also a good restaurant right next to the hotel. Lixouri is a small, charming village with a relaxed and authentic vibe. It’s not overcrowded with tourists, which was a big plus for us. All the restaurants are just a short walk away, and the ferry to Argostoli (the island’s capital) is very close, running every 30 minutes.

Breakfast was good, but mainly pastries. The only thing we would have loved to see would be some traditional Greek items like feta cheese and olives – it would have added a local touch to the morning meal.

The host, Anastasia, was very welcoming and made us feel at home on arrival. She went above and beyond to endure our stay was a most enjoyable experience. Basically, all your needs and wants are met by this incredibly warm and friendly woman and her husband Demetri. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the room (if preferred) is an added bonus. The hotel is much nicer than the picture shown. The room is openplan and very spacious with a large comfortable bed. A supermarket is just 2 mins walk away, and the piazza square in the town has loads of restaurants plus bars and only mins away. The sea is just literally outside the hotel, with spectacular panoramic views of the mountains beyond, sailboats and even the odd cruise ship in the distance. There is also the ferry less than 10 mins walk away. Takes people and vehicles to Angostoli in 20 mins. They run every half hour. In Angostoli, there are tons more restaurants than you've ever seen. Mainly located by the seafront, where your meals are served al-fresco. There is also another huge piazza square behind the main street, where even more restaurants are located. I have never seen more places to eat in my entire life. Angostoli (the capital) is very lively, brightly lit and has a lovely night vibe. I would highly recommend Aura Boutique Hotel. Guaranteed prime location and a place where you can relax, feel comfortable and unwind.

Visited many times and never disappointed! Owners have become friends and are so welcoming and eager to ensure your stay is the best it can be. Lovely large bedrooms with super views, large comfortable beds and excellent facilities. Breakfast is freshly cooked with excellent choice of eggs, cakes and pastries. Fresh fruit ,yogurt and honey is also an option. The location couldn't be better - access to the beach with loungers and shaders and a very good restaurant next to the hotel. ( Currently closed due to end of summer season). Super view across the sea to the hills beyond.

Frequent visitor to this hotel . Feel very comfortable and relaxed here. The owners are exceptional and go out of their way to help in any way possible. Very clean throughout. The rooms are a very good size and the beds are very comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep. Breakfast is freshly made with very tasty savouries, cakes and eggs etc The beach is just outside and there are loungers and shaders with snack menu available. A new team are running the restaurant located next door to the accommodation and having sampled the lunch and dinner menu we are very pleased with the quality and presentation of food. The service was very friendly and the location is the very best with views over the sea and hills beyond. Easy walk into the town centre for shopping, restaurants etc

We had a fantastic time at the Aura Boutique Hotel. The staff, Anastasia and her family, were incredibly welcoming and kind, always greeted us with a smile. The breakfasts were delicious and versatile every morning, the rooms were spacious and spotless, and the hotel is in a great location, right by a nice beach and just a few minutes' walk from the city centre and ferry port. It was the perfect place for a great holiday! I'd highly recommend it!

Superb view overlooking the sea and mountains - room 201 if you are interested! The staff and owner couldn't do enough for you and I definitely will return... So far my favourite place in Kefalonia & as it is very close to the town square, main shopping street as well as a supermarket (but with its own restaurant right on the beach,The Comodore and you've got to try the chicken or pork skewers), you will have no problems in food choices or things to do. Very chilled, lovely breakfast, and spotless - couldn't fault it. Drove there from Argostoli and caught the ferry back (definitely will do the latter again)

Very natural surroundings, right on the beach with unspoilt surroundings. The beds were very comfortable with thick mattress toppers and spotlessly clean. Staff are so lovely, could not fault anything about this hotel. The town is just a few minutes walk where there are plenty of restaurants which wee very reasonable priced and food was excellent. Lepeda Beach Taverna was a 2 minute drive and was an amazing place to chill with its natural surroundings. This is not a ‘plastic’ place!

The breakfast was outstanding, with great omelets, home-baked cakes such as orange cake, and some of the best spanakopita I've tasted. Anastasia was a warm and responsive host. She upgraded our room to a larger suite as she felt bad that we had missed one night due to a missed connection. She was also helpful in arranging transportation for us to tour the island during our brief stay. The room we had was very spacious and the bed very comfortable.

The shower was a little difficult to negotiate given the sloped ceiling and my husband's 6 foot two-inch stature. Also, there is really no place at the hotel/boutique inn to sit outside.

It's a family owned hotel with superb service. From the moment you arrive, to when you're having breakfast, to when you're checking out, you feel you are treated like a family member. I highly recommend this place. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable.
