Very good location and easy parking next to the hotel. An enjoyable walk to restaurants and shopping. The lobby area is wonderful and a great place to relax with big over stuffed couches and armchairs. My daughter and I stayed here one night and we would stay here again.

The one thing I don’t like, but it seems that every hotel does this, is that there is only a heavy duvet or nothing. It was far too warm in the room even with the windows open to have a duvet. But a little too cool to sleep without anything. I just got up in the middle of the night and put on a sweater over pajamas, and that was perfect

Cons: The room was too cold when we arrived. The heaters were turned off and the window was left open. The shelf where the glasses were on was dusty and the coffee machine needed a clean up. The walls had no sound isolation so we heard the next door guests' conversations. Pros: We loved the scent of the liquid soap, shampoo and shower gel. There were bathrobes which were awesome. Once turned on, the heaters were extremely hot.

Excellent art work throughout and the warm ambience which made it enjoyable to get back to the hotel.

For Iceland and £50, the breakfast was very basic and lacked variety. The service of the hotel did not quite have the ‘Wow’ factor.

I really appreciated viewing all the artwork. And the lobby and lounges are great places to hang out in. If the weather makes you not want to venture outside, I would suggest grabbing a good book, a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and pick a spot on one of their couches or comfy chairs with soft classic jazz in the background. Bedrooms are small but on par with most hotels in Europe. The bathrooms, while still small by American standards, were actually a bit nicer and roomier that most European hotels'. No electrical outlet in the bathroom though. Free coffee and tea 24/7. Good location.

Parking is really tight. Breakfast buffet is overpriced--around U$32. (I don't know why they don't tell you the price in Icelandic krona or even US $, but in pounds sterling.) We chose not to eat there. It might be worth it if you really like a big breakfast. The reviews I read on the food quality were excellent, but we were dining out for lunch and dinner every night. We didn't need to be spending that much on coffee and a light breakfast.

We went twice, once at the beginning and once at the end of our trip. Both times there were comfy beds and clean and comfortable rooms. At the front desk, there was always a pleasant person there to help you. Also, the location is perfect. We walked to the shopping area and Rainbow St. We could see the church from our room too. It was a nice spot to be, on our last night in Iceland.

The first time we stayed there, there was a tub shower that was slippery and I was nervous about falling. The second visit, the shower was much safer. Also, I didn't feel fully safe about gluten free options at breakfast. When asked, they didn't fully understand that you need a separate toaster and prep space for people with Celiac. It could have been a language issue, not sure. They did get a bowl and spoon for me though, so I could eat my gf df cereal in my room.

Great location very close to the centre. Parking was free and easy. Nice feel when you first enter reception and a warm welcome. Good coffee in the room was nice touch and nice toiletries. Saw the Aurora down by the water just a 2 minute walk down the hill.

Walls were a little thin in the room so could hear other people in their rooms. For the price I think breakfast could have been included, we didn’t want to pay extra as thought it was a little steep so we went out and found a great bakery instead.

The rooms were a bit dated

Excellent location, walkable to all the sights of Reykjavik. Comfortable rooms with all amenities. Staff were very helpful to many small requests. Great to see all the artwork. The vibe in the lounge and bar are excellent.

The hotel is expensive, although in line with other properties in Iceland, it's just an expensive place. The bar isn't open every night. The breakfast is expensive. The parking lot is very small and tight, it's quite challenging to park and get the car out again.

The hotel is in a very good location easy to walk to restaurants and shopping. The old world decor is beautiful with large local paintings and etchings throughout the hotel. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Room is comfortable. Hotel Front Desk is welcoming and helpful.

The lack of blackout curtains is noticeable especially in the morning. We also could not find an outlet in the bathroom.

We only had one night at the hotel so we really appreciated that there was free guest parking, and that its location being so central. The hotel itself is very retro chic/trendy, and we loved its style. Breakfast was decent, although if anyone from the hotel reads this then please get some larger cups/mugs for us tea drinkers - the tiny cups are not suitable, especially when you have to keep going up to get more hot water/tea bags etc.

Despite reading the reviews, we were still a little taken back by how small the room was. The walls also are very thin, so if you're a light sleeper then bring/wear earplugs.
