Staff was great and the location couldn't been better. We arruved at 7 am and were able to get in our room soon there after.

Great location, spacious room, helpful staff. Really liked the eclectic decor. Staff were really knowledgeable about the area and offered great dining recommendations.

Signs in hotel advertised "cch (city center hotel) bar is open." We were first told it was open Wed- Sun, but it wasn't open either Wed or Thursday of our stay.

Gentleman at desk on the weekend gave us so many useful tips to explore the city, suggestions for restaurants, and attractions and more. He was so helpful.

On-site restaurant, but there were many options very near.

Charming boutique hotel, centrally located. Close to many restaurants.

Lighting in rooms is minimal and dim. Needed to use flashlight frequently.

The desk receptionist was very welcoming and provided great advice for walking around the area, as well as an excellent dinner recommendation close by.

Very convenient location. Loads of dinner options and shops within 10 mins walk. Walk to/from main bus terminal in 20 mins. Friendly staff and loved the interesting decor of the hotel. Loved greeting the resident cat in the lobby each day too! We enjoyed an upgraded room as well, not sure why but we weren't complaining!

Pretty minor things. Was expecting a safe in the room from the information online but couldn't find one. We made do without but would have been handy. Kettle and coffee machine provided in the room was lovely as we like our teas and coffee but only one plug available nearby for both machines (the other plug being used by fridge). The kettle cord wasn't long enough to reach the plug socket where the kettle tray was, so had to keep rotating the kettle tray back and forth depending on whether we wanted tea or coffee.

Exceptional location ... entrance located on street that turns into pedestrian only at night ... lot of energy due to restaurants, shops, pubs ... looking out the back it overlooks a small park surrounded by Iceland's historic parliament building and the site of Iceland's main cathedral ... locally owned (not a chain) about which we were surprised as there were a number of "Center" hotels nearby which are part of a chain ... in this case the Center refers to its great location. Staff were most helpful and the decor was very artfully and tastefully done ... hotel redone during covid ... really worth staying there.

Staying an extra day or so

The room exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, well-appointed, and had modern fixtures. The bathroom was very nice and my friend and I had plenty of space with the storage, desk, couch, footstool, and table. It was perfect. There were also two shelves by the door and one had hooks. Those two shelves were great since we needed to have raincoats. Every hotel needs hooks by the door!

I don’t love a SILENT room to sleep in, I prefer a fan or an AC unit that I can run. Since the room was so quiet we could sometimes hear neighboring rooms and every shift in bed sounded so loud. (This is a very minor thing, really.)

Central, downtown, location near to eateries, grocery stores, shops and the harbour. Few minute walk to bus stops 1 and 3. Coffee pod machine and fridge and a kettle, on request. Great spacious room and luxury bathroom with hairdryer. Self regulated heating. Great views from the balcony with a log burner. Efficient friendly reception staff. Luggage storage. Even a shoe shine in the lobby. Comfortable bed. Choice of TV channels.

Curtains were difficult to manoeuvre to block out the light, not a big problem as sleep eye masks and ear plugs are provided. Some noise from local bars late Saturday night/early Sunday morning but given the location, that is to be expected.

Central location in downtown Reykjavik was perfect for getting around with lots of great bars and eateries close by and a great public swimming pool 20 minutes walk away. Also supermarket and excellent bakery within three minutes walk!

Check in was badly delayed due to guests having been late checking out. Room quite noisy at night but happy to compromise some noise for proximity to amenities.
