Clean, warm and comfortable room. Minimal staff/host presence but bathrooms were well maintained and we had all the information we needed to let ourselves in. Also appreciated the spare toiletries in the bathrooms as my body wash was unfortunately sacrificed to airport security lol. Location is FAB, very walkable to all sorts of attractions so very little need to rely on public transport. All in all we felt it was great for the price.

Everything was awesome ! The share bathroom was clean and there are actually 2 bathrooms with shower and toolet and one extra toilet for 4 rooms, so its quite private:) kitchen was fully equiped and we even have kettle, a Lot of teas, coffee maker and coffee and milk in our room.. room was quiet - when someone was showering across our room even at 1am we heard nothing :) room was with good temperature and position of this appartment was just great, we walked everywhere because it was so close to anything :) and we can storage our bags there after check out and thats was really helpfull:) thank you!

The apartment is a good size for 2 people so as a single traveller, I had plenty of room. The bed was comfortable and the showers were very good. The blackout curtains did a pretty good job at night. The apartment complex is easy to find and access, and was very quiet during my stay. There are plenty of public transport options nearby. The communication with the hosts is excellent. They provide some very nice teas in your room as an additional comfort. The share kitchen is small but well equipped and there is plenty of space in the fridge for storage.

The shared showers and toilets are not for everyone, but they are extremely clean and spacious, and very private at this guesthouse.

I loved the check-in process. It was no contact and simple. It allowed us the freedom to come in and leave as needed. The beds were comfortable. I liked that were was a table to set stuff on. Parking was free on the street in certain areas. We also liked that there was the option for twins for friends to travel and that there was coffee, tea and the kettle in the room. Finally, we loved that it was so close to town. Easy walk into town and back but with a great price point.

We were right next to a playground so had to make sure the shade was closed most of the time. Parking map needs to be a higher quality image, it was hard to read. We were able to figure out the space through comparing the road shapes.

I was looking for a place to sleep with some comforts. While the room was small, I was there to spend my time exploring Iceland so all I really needed was a bed. The room had 2 comfortable beds (single person each), it's own sink with mirror, and an electric kettle as well as some teas, sugar, and mjolk which made mornings very nice. The room had it's own lock (though Iceland doesn't really feel like you need it), had it's own heaters, and I was very comfortable. The shared water closets (2 full, 1 half) amply met needs. The shared kitchen was small but fully functional and everyone had their own storage space. The entire place was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. Next time I come back to Iceland, Refurinn Guesthouse is my stay location of choice.

Only that I wish I could have had more time in Iceland. Refurinn Guesthouse made the stay accessible and comfortable.

My partner and I loved the guesthouse's location, sound-proofing, and amenities. We arrived super early the day of our check-in and were able to store our luggage in a secure area while we waited for our room to be ready. The shared bathrooms were never too busy you couldn't use them and the laundry machines were easy to use and were very helpful during our long trip. We did not end up needing the kitchen, but it was well stocked, easy to move around in, and we will for sure use it on future trips. Because yes, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! The value is unbeatable and the experience was delightful. Highly recommend.

No on-site parking, however free parking is a literal block away and a super short walk. Not a real problem in the end.

My favorite place to stay in Reykjavik! I spent almost two weeks there and had to keep changing the dates, etc., due to travel conflicts. I was accommodated by the owners immediately and with zero issues. The rooms are super clean, the kitchen is perfect AND there’s a washer & dryer! I barely heard any other guests - everyone was respectful of being quiet at night, etc. I will definitely stay here on my future trips (this was my 6th trip to Iceland). It beats all the overpriced hotels in the area. Perfect location to walk anywhere in the city and a super quick walk to the harbor, restaurants and grocery stores.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The check-in was very easy, because I received one email with the code to open the door and my room. Was possible to let also my luggage there in the last day for free- they have special place for luggages. One small supermarket is near the Guesthouse, just cross the street. The city center is 10-15 minutes walking and the bus station for the airport is only 5 minutes walking.

The bathroom is not inside the room, but even is shared with other room is very clean.

Staying at a Guesthouse in Reykjavik is definitely the way to go, and this place was excellent. By staying here we were able to save some money on food by cooking our own meals in the shared kitchen. We met some other travelers, which was nice. Access to a refrigerator, luggage storage, and washer and dryer was really great. Overall it was clean, well-run, organized, and quiet. The check-in and check-out process was clearly communicated to us. We didn't have a vehicle so I cannot comment on that. I've stayed at other hostel-type places in other cities across the world and would say that this one was my favorite.

Just to let others know, it is a bit of a walk into the main part of town from this Guesthouse, but I would not want to trade the potential increased noise and probably higher prices just to be closer to the main drag.

Really lovely! I was traveling with my father, and the folks running the guesthouse brought him extra pillows, because he needs to sleep mostly upright. Then, when there was a cancellation, they offered us the extra room so that he and I could each be more comfortable. We're so grateful for the kindness and hospitality. The rooms are clean, bright, and warm. We used the shared kitchen every morning. Shared bathrooms were never an issue - there are three on the main floor. Rooms also have a small sink, and there are coffee and tea makings in the rooms as well. A quick 5 minute walk to the harbor, a 20-30 minute walk to the downtown area near the big church (Hallgrímskirkja), and a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest pool with thermal baths.

No complaints, really.
