Amazing location and staff. It was expensive but Iceland is very expensive overall! Very kind about offering room service items like milk and extra coffee, and really helpful at the front desk.

The room needs true blackout curtains given the price of the room. They were thin and did little. At breakfast you had to pay for espresso and other strong coffee although the brewed coffee was like tea. We were used to getting coffee drinks included with inclusive breakfast throughout Europe. Given the cost of the rooms, it seems a bit petty. Not their fault, but every taxi we ordered through the hotel came 10-15 minutes late.

Super friendly staff, face cloths in bath, lots of outlets, spa was wonderful. I had a facial and the technician was amazing. Quality and selection of breakfast buffet was superb. Was able to get early check in. Great bartender. Loved the Art Deco architecture. Location could not have been better.

Would have liked to be able to get hotter water in room shower, but the hot tub and steam room in the spa did the trick. Only one small bath towel in the room, but house keeping cheerfully gave me another one. I had a huge heavy duffle bag and two other bags, and as not offered bag service or mention of a bag trolley.

Excellent location, elegant and relaxed athmosphere and exceptional and friendly service. We were allowed to check in early, and the hotel booked tours for us both to the Blue Lagoon and for the Golden Circle. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast buffet was nicely arranged with a large variety of options and definitively one of the highlights during the stay. We had to leave early the day of departure, but the hotel sent with us pre-ordered breakfast with plenty of various food including fruits and cookies.

Cosy, elegant and relaxed restaurant where we had lunch one day and dinner another day, but the amount of food varied considerable between the different main courses.

The art deco furnishings were fantastic. I loved how historical it felt. The rooms were incredibly comfortable.

Wonderful location right in the center of town with a 24/7 convenience store right next door so you can run out for food anytime. The rooms are beautiful and our suite was very spacious. Downstairs has a wonderful sauna with a hot tub, and steam and sauna rooms which feel like heaven after a cold day outdoors. Staff steered us to all the best tours and would tell us when a tour wasn't up to par like there being less than a 20% chance of seeing the Northern Lights due to clouds. Staff also sent us to the best restaurants where the locals eat . We travel a lot and this was our favorite hotel ever.

This was my 14th stay at the Borg which is a good hotel in the heart of Reykjavik. Room was very good and the reception is attended 24/7. The spa is a nice place to relax. The breakfast is good as was the service. Hotel was warm throughout. The communal square was a delight of Christmas lights and decorations.

The Borg lacks a good size reception lounge which is normally overcome by the generous bar / restaurant area. The menu is not expansive but adequate. Unfortunately arriving back at the hotel with several guests after an evening out I discovered the Borg bar and restaurant was closed and had been given over to a private function. The previous evening I had been advised that a Christmas buffet would be available. The situation was saved by the brand new Parliament hotel (Hilton) just a short walk across the square. A large modern serviced reception area with bar and large comfortable lounge which provided live Jaz music. All my guests were impressed with this new hotel.

We loved everything, the whole of our stay was super enjoyable. Our room was huge with a bath - which is such a plus, all toiletries supplied were Molton Brown. Room service was super quick and very reasonably priced (for Iceland). Breakfast was probably one of the better buffet breakfasts we've had in Iceland. Location wise you are very close to the centre, only a 5 minute walk, we hired a car and there was a large underground carpark about 2 minute walk away. Finally the spa was just wonderful, a real treat after walking around in the cold all day, Elizabeth who worked in the spa was so friendly & attentive - a real asset to the hotel!

We honestly wouldn't have changed a thing

I stayed in a standard single room. The bed was somewhat narrow but fine for one person. The room had a sizable closet with hangers and shelves, a desk and chair, a nightstand and easy chair, and was fine for a short visit. The room was very clean (if you wanted housekeeping during your stay you need to request that at the front desk) and the bathroom was in very good condition. The staff were helpful with printing my boarding pass and I took advantage of the luggage delivery service advertised in the elevator (for a price) for transporting my suitcase to the airport, so I didn't have to lug it on the bus. That worked out well (the staff made the arrangements with the delivery company) and I thought it was worth it. The hotel location is on one of the main squares and had many restaurants and shops nearby, including a food hall with lots of different cuisines just a block away. The wifi worked well. The hotel is very close to one of the main city bus stops which is convenient for catching the bus to/from the main depot from which the larger buses to the airport, Blue Lagoon etc. depart.

I had a courtyard view rather than overlooking the square but it was fine since I wasn't spending much time in the room. Breakfast wasn't included but I ate at a nearby delightful coffee shop/restaurant called "Hressingarskalinn" instead.

Nice hotel, very good location and nice staff. The lobby is beautiful.

The rooms could be more attractive. The furnishings bland. The lighting needs improvement.

That we were given a room on the first floor next to the elevator, overlooking a slanted lower roof adjacent to buildings on the other three sides. We could not figure how to work (lower) the thermostat, as the room temperature was too warm (25 degrees C). Upon asking a question at the front desk that neither person knew the answer, I was asked to google it (instead of their offering to find the answer for us). Wished that receptionist verbally reminded us about your green housekeeping (none unless requested) rules. We missed the sticker in the elevator and stated on the reservation confirmation until coming back from an all-day tour and finding the room the way we left it. The front desk brought us replacement towels and coffee immediately upon a phone call.
