Our room had the Best view straight in front of the Hallgrímskirkja cathedral! Staff, couziness, cleaning, breakfast We got a good deal in Booking So the quality vs price was great 👍🏼

No lift, but get the chance to leave big luggage in storage room

The place is great! We chose it based on the reviews left by others, but did not really know what to expect. But everything was exactly as described - the location is perfect, the staff is super friendly and very helpful. And it was very warm in the room - we could regulate the temperature ourselves, which was nice. In addition, one can get free tea and coffee downstairs any time (and the coffee was good), which we enjoyed a lot.

The rooms are small, but if you are not planning to spend too much time there, it does not matter. Besides, there is a common area on the first floor, with tables and couches, where one can sit any time - there is plenty of room there.

Great location directly opposite the Hallgrimskirkja Church, close to restaurants and easy walking distance from the main shopping area. The continental breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The Coffee and Tea available at any time for guests was a lovely perk. Lots of tourist information available in the reception area. The room was serviced every day with clean towels.

We were in a standard double room which was dated & the bathroom was small. No frills really but perfectly clean and adequate. We were not offered the free upgrade that was flagged in Booking.com. The hotel has two parts and our room was in the other building just across the road. Again, this is not a complaint, but we would have preferred not to have been separate from the main communal area where we could help ourselves to tea and coffee.

The location is exactly infront of Reykjavik’s biggest church. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly. The water has a strong odour and the smell is quite uncomfortable as it envelopes the room. It also makes you not want to consume this water (as they say water from taps is fit to consume). The room is clean buy compact for 2 adults with 2 big bags. The buffet breakfast is limited as compared to other hotels; I’d recommend having at least 2 hot options and increasing the breakfast time to at least 10am (currently it’s served till 9:30am only and the staff (lady) cleaning up the area hurriedly took away the butter and cheese even though she saw me using it).

The location is fantastic, with lots of great restaurants and shops nearby and of course the great view of the Cathedral. The beds were very comfy and the rooms warm and the reception and bar area is really nice too. The staff were great and helpful and helped us book a last minute N Lights tour at a good rate.

There was no lift and we were on the fourth floor; my husband has a bad back so it meant myself and the kids carrying our cases on arrival and departure. We were in attic rooms which were fine but we did have some water coming through our windows one night when it snowed… not loads but some and the windows seemed old. I have to say the lighting in one room was awful… had to use camera torches to see our stuff and there was also nowhere to hang clothes. The bathrooms are very small with nowhere to put your wash stuff and there is a funny egg like smell which emerges from the shower which is apparently normal and to do with the water coming from the mountains. The kids hated this… Breakfast was ok but limited.

We stayed in the end at this hotel for 3 nights. Originally we were only scheduled for 2 but as the rain did not stop and the high winds we opted the stay in Reykjavik. The Croatian lady was very helpful in helping us extend our stay and also recommend places to go we hadn’t already been to. Breakfast was really nice and a good option for everyone. Rooms were clean and just what we needed 24/7 coffee, tea or hot chocolate which is a bonus. We had room 407 it was a lovely top room floor and when the rain did stop you could see mountains and the harbour. Overall a great stay and would stay again if we ever come back.

The stairs 😂

Room was cozy and clean. The common area downstairs was comfortable and inviting. We loved the sofas and seating on the landing of every floor. It gave a sense that guests should chat and mingle like in ones home. The location was super convenient to lots of shops and restaurants. We had a car. The receptionist told us where to find free parking by the church. That made parking super easy!

No elevator. It was a lot of effort to bring luggage for arrival and departure. I decided to take the receptionist up on help bringing luggage down during checkout. It's not a dealbreaker for future stays. We'll just know what to expect. Other travelers should know too in case this is a problem for them.

So central, right next to the Halgrimskirkja church and walkable to everywhere in Reykjavik. Reception staff very accommodating and we were able to check in to our room early (11am) and order breakfast to go as we had an early flight the next day. The small room was very comfortable and decor lovely - dark and cozy.

The room was on the 3rd floor with no lift, which was fine with us as we had no big suitcases but others might want to be aware of this. It had a sloping ceiling, just to be mindful of this as my husband hit his head on it a couple of times. Some noise from outside during the night but it is in the centre.

The view from my pillow was the front of Hallgrímskirja church and it was amazing to see it lit up in the dark hours. The breakfast was good and filling, the coffee and the access to hot tea, coffee and hot chocolate station all day was nice. We found the staff always friendly and informative! And access to the Rainbow Road and downtown for shops and restaurants was perfect. Walked everywhere.

The sulfur-y smell of the hot water- nothing can be done about that. The closet tucked back in the corner was for storing more than accessing regularly - just made us more organized.

Very central location, city centre just down the hill and near plenty of restaurants and bars if needed. I was delighted to find they’d upgraded me to a double room with a lovely view of the superb church (cathedral, really) opposite. But no worries, the chiming doesn’t go through the night! Not luxurious BUT comfortable room, everywhere sparkling clean, great breakfast, free coffee/tea in reception, friendly, pleasant and very helpful staff. Good value for money, it was a great stay and I would happily return.

Nothing!
