Breakfast is quite modest, but sufficient: cold meats, cheeses, bread, toast, yogurts, cereals, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, gherkin salad, hard-boiled eggs, herrings, ketchup, mayonnaise. However, there are no scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages or other hot dishes. To drink, coffee and several types of tea. Fruit, bananas and oranges also available.
Problems with parking the car. The staff claimed that there were no parking spaces, but from the room window I saw an empty parking space belonging to the hotel. There is no help from the staff in this matter - you have to cope on your own. I had to pay 3,000 ISK for one-day parking. The lack of hot water will last for breakfast. It was very difficult to set the temperature in the electric stove in the apartment. The water in the bathroom next to the sink is very difficult to open.

Unique, stylish and cozy hotel right on the main shopping street. It doesn't get more centrally located than this. There's actually a lot of rooms within the compound but they have managed to maintain a small scale feel. Our room was just lovely, with plenty of space and very well designed and very clean. Amazing how quiet it was inside when outside there were some late night party people having a good time. We had the family room that came with a nice living compartment in between the two super comfortable bedrooms. Comfy couch, huge flatscreen tv. There's plenty of parking close by in different zones. We were there on the weekend when Zone 3 is free. It was about 5 -10 min walk. Breakfast was okay, little less varied as some other places we stayed in Iceland but still plenty to choose from.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Fron! From the time of booking to the end, we were so looked after. I had a few questions about tours and bus stops even before we got there and I always had a prompt answer. Our flat was ready and we were allowed an early check in which made such a difference to our comfort! We left at 6am on the last day and staff had thoughtfully packed a breakfast for us to take! The flat was a good size, warm and comfortable and the beds were very comfortable. It was great to have a microwave and fridge and little amenities. The hotel is centrally placed and very near to shops, restaurants and had a great vibe! We would like to extend our thanks to all the staff , especially the Reception staff for their wonderful hospitality!

Excellent location, maximum 20 minute walk to main attractions, including harbour and BSÍ bus station. Lots of nice shops, restaurants and bars nearby. We had a studio deluxe apartment, which was plenty of space for 2 people. The room was clean and warm, had a comfortable bed, good kitchen facilities and a nice bathroom. Very good breakfast every morning - cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, cheese and meats. Very helpful to have free luggage storage option on our last day.
Genuinely no negatives to report, would recommend to friends and family and would stay again.

The room was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. I arrived early at the hotel and the room was already ready, so I could check in early. That was nice after a 7 hour flight! The breakfast was okay, but since it was included in the price it was a nice option. I also got a bigger room (maybe it was an upgrade made by booking.com?), which was really nice and even came with a kitchen. The room didn’t have any view though (you were looking directly into another rooms windows and an outdoor hallway), which didn’t bother me at all, since I explored the city and surrounding area the whole time and only came to the room for sleeping. Overall, not only because of the perfect location, I would definitely consider staying there again.
The soundproofing was a little poor and the fridge from time to time very loud too.

The location was great and the staff is fantastic - nice, friendly, available, and knowledgeable. I had stayed there before a few years ago and, because they had space, they gave me an upgrade to a nicer room with a bigger bed. Obviously I was fine with the previous room or I wouldn't be staying there again but it was a nice surprise. It is on Laugavegur, so it's in town and that comes with some of the noise of people walking by but it also makes it a great location as it is an easy walk to any where from there.

I liked the room we booked, it was clean, warm, always fresh air. The breakfast is quite good. As much as the property has a good location, we were lucky to find a parking in 300 m away from the hotel.
Our staying at the hotel was great but one lady (she seemed to be a cleaning lady) who was constantly not looking in front of herself and she has kept running into people. A couple times she was walking in the dining area and people had to stop to let her go because otherwise she would have hit them. I do not mind but I saw the same case with a man with a baby in stroller. Cleaning lady is unstoppable. She seemed to be speaking Russian.

The room was bigger than I expected from the pictures and was incredibly comfy. The bedding was soft and cozy against the January cold and the room had many facilities including a mini fridge, alarm clock, phone to reception and a safe. Location was perfect, being right by the shops.
I wish there were better access to plugs in the room as I did struggle to find them and then remove my chargers on departure. The bathroom was quite cramped with the door swinging into the toilet.

Loved the staff - very friendly & the hotel includes breakfast which is handy & does dinner - and the restaurant is fantastic! Right next door, you don’t even have to go out into the street if you don’t feel like it & you’ve had a long day, so it’s very good for those who gave big adventure activities planned in the day & just want to come back and relax in the evening. Very clean, spacious room, and has an elevator - so no worries for those with big luggage :) An extra plus - the day of my departure I had to leave very early (5.30am) to catch my flight - and couldn’t make the usual breakfast time of 8am, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the the hotel staff had prepared a takeaway brekkie for me to take with me! So sweet and thoughtful :) Love Iceland & this hotel is the perfect stay to enjoy :)
Nothing - it was fantastic. :)

October 2023
We were there for 1 night in late October 2023. The location was superb. Right in the center of downtown Reykjavik. Just a couple of minutes walk from the rainbow road and lots of dining options nearby. The hotel had a "baby cot" ready for us. It was like a pack n play and my 15 months old baby slept through the night in it. I had booked for a "studio" but we got upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment! It was a nice surprise and very nice to have baby sleep in one room and the parents in another room. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need. Lots of power outlets for our electronic needs. The breakfast selection was decent (boiled eggs, fresh bread, croissants, pastries, cold cut meats & cheese, fruits, Icelandic herring, coffee juice milk tea). It seemed like a typical selection for hotels that offered breakfast. We stayed in 6 different places during our time in Iceland and 3 hotels that had free breakfast had pretty much the same selection. The other 3 were either Airbnb or just didn't have breakfast included. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and offered to give my baby warm milk without us asking. A comfortable stay. Free parking space by the "apartment" section of the hotel.
Parking had its own challenge. Either reserve with the hotel in advance, or pay to park on the side of the street, or try your luck for a space just by the apartment section of the hotel (a different building, behind the main building with reception). The hotel staff told us it's free to park if there's space by their apartment building. We arrived on Sunday and there was no space by the apartment building (only 3 spaces marked for the hotel by the apartment building). So we paid to park for a few hours on a nearby street. Normally it's free to park on Sunday but zone 1 (or P1, where the hotel is in) still requires payment until 9pm. The next morning around 6am, we lucked out and there was space by the apartment so we moved our rental car over and saved some parking money by doing that.
