The property was in a great location and was very easy to find. It also had free onsite parking behind which was a bonus for us as we had hired a car for our trip. Upon checking in, the apartment was incredibly clean and in great shape. The decor felt new and modern but also really warm and cosy. Heating was very effective and easy to use as were the appliances in the kitchen. Our host, Steinunn, was very accommodating and helpful.

The only downside for us was the kitchen size. It was quite small for us and we would struggle to make dinner whilst cutting up vegetables etc - however if you aren’t going to use kitchen to make dinner then this wouldn’t be an issue.

The location was nice and convenient. Kitchen had ample supplies. Showers were hot and had good water pressure. Plenty of towels provided and complimentary slippers. Property owner was friendly and responsive.

It would be nice to have black out curtains. Being not used to the summer in Iceland, it would have been easier to rest if there were blackout shades or curtains. The apartment is also on somewhat of a busy road, so there is some noise out on the streets and especially later in the evening when the bars close. The only other thing that I did not like was the fact we had toddlers staying in the apartment above. Each evening from 5pm to 7:30pm and morning from 8am to 9am (when we were at the apartment) the kids ran and stomped throughout the apartment above which rattled the walls and made it very unsettling/hard to relax.

Host was a great coomicator with us and responsive before and during the stay. Location provided easy walking access to dining, activities, grocery and transportation. We loved that they brought us clean towels every 2 days, nice surprise. Beds were very comfortable and kitchen had nice selection of basics and supplies we assume we're left by other guests (salt, pepper, coffee, olive oil). Clean and neat. Great wifi and handy travel recommendations for food and activities.

We were unprepared for the amount of street noise, traffic and people, very late into the night and early morning hours. However, this was only a sleeping issue for 1 of the 3 bedrooms and wasn't disruptive to conversations or visiting in the evenings.

Our stay here was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. It’s very close to the downtown walkable area and had off street parking for our rental car. The owners were easy to reach via the booking.com messaging and quick to respond. The separate rooms of the apartment were great to have a little down time after long days together. The small balcony was perfect for breakfast and people watching. Everything was very clean, the beds were super comfortable, and it had a cozy vibe. We were in the top apartment and were informed that the stairs were quite steep but it was no problem for us. Altogether we were very happy with our stay here.

Great location, right next to the shopping street. All interesting locations are at a min walk (rainbowstreet, shopping street, hallgrimskirkja, sun voyager, ...). The house with 3 rooms is actually a duplex apartment. There is another apartment in the basement. But it is a charming house, typically Reykjavik style. All basic necessities were available in the kitchen. Also fantastic that we could park our rental right behind the house as for us it was very confusing where parking was free of paid and we heard parking in Reykjavik was very expensive.

The house is typical Icelandic, but this means that the walls are thin and the floors are in wood and a lot of noise comes through when people talk outside or in a different room or walk inside the house. We could also hear the people in the basement apartment talking and were constantly wondering how much we were disturbing them walking above them on the wooden floor.

The location was excellent and the apartment was so cute. It was very comfortable and clean. The onwers are very approachable and accomodating for a very late check in. Our flight arrived after 1:00 AM and the code worked perfect for our self check in. Steinunn made sure to stop by and se that we were all settled in snd had suggestions for places to see and things to do.

As in every developing city, Reykjavik is going through a much needed growth spurt to accomodate the griwing tourist industry, so of course there was noise from the construction next door. However, as we rose early to venture out this did not bother us too much.

Wonderful location and very spacious. Easy to walk to most of the old town. Loved the private parking. It’s an old house and the age shows in some things but that’s just apart of the charm. We were on the second floor with 3 beds/1 bath. Only two things we missed were a true living room space where we could sit together and also there are no laundry but we knew that going in. They had coffee pot, ground coffee and filters and left our kids some candy which was a nice touch. The owner was great with communication and let us know when we were able to enter a bit early.

The owner was very helpful in sending reminders, instructions and even tips for our trip/stay. The property is in a very good location. Very near the tourist areas. I am a neat freak and I love how clean the apartment is. The free use of towels (very very clean towels!) is a pleasant addition. And the free parking space is also a plus. I wished we could have stayed longer in this property. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The stairs going up the apartment could be an issue for older people or for those with big luggage.

The communication with the owner prior to and during our visit was excellent. We were a family of three generations -- 11 people total, and we rented three separate apartments at Old Charm Reykjavik Apartments. Each had a newish kitchen; two had what appeared to be original wood floors (serviceable but squeaky and no varnish/protective coating on them. One of the apartments had what appeared to be new floors (probably LVP or laminate). All three had newish , clean kitchens with plenty of dishes and new appliances. The location was perfect for our needs as it was walkable to everything we wanted to do in the city: cafes, bars, shopping, the harbor, Harpa, the Lava Show, Rainbow Road, and the City Walk tour.

The location is ideally located; however, because of that, it was also noisy at night, especially on the weekends, due to late closing bars and loud talkers walking by. It was also noisy during the weekdays due to a lot of nearby construction. Having said that, we would not have wanted to stay farther from the city, so we are very happy with our choice.

The property was perfect for our family of 4. The home had everything that a traveler would need. Parking directly behind the building was a big plus. The location was ideal since we could walk to nearby attractions, restaurants and shops.

Nothing that we could think of.
