November 2024

The location was very good, very central, close to shops and restaurants, and easy to find from the bus stop 6 Flybus drop-off (which is also a bus stop for getting tours). The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good selection and the dining area was pleasant. I wasn't sure about the bed but it was surprisingly comfortably. Also handy having the power cube in the room - meant I didn't need an adapter for charging my phone! The heating in the room was rather powerful - despite it being the end of November, I had it switched off most of the time! There is a pub across the street which is quite noisy until about 2330 but with the window closed I could barely hear it, so that was all good.

A few more fruit options at breakfast would have been nice but there was enough other food to keep me going!

Excellent location, the staff was more than friendly from day 1 of my booking (a month ahead my actual stay), the room space was great for one person, the street view was awesome. The breakfast was diverse and suitable to all the tastes. Hotel was walking distance from all attractions, bars, the ocean view, restaurants and transportation hubs. Thank you for letting me check-in earlier.

Only two things to improve, please have power outlets by the bed. It was difficult for me to reach my phone while resting or when waking up. At least one usb charger would be more than helpful. Second, and minor, and perhaps difficult to change, the ledge above the sink is kind of wide, when I bent over to brush my teeth or wash my face, I kept hitting my head with the ledge. Other than those, I enjoyed my time in this place.

All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond. The location was excellent and the vibrancy of the surrounding area was brilliant for us, although some could say it's noisy but the hotel is slap bang in the middle of everything. Great continental breakfast. The room was comfortable and very clean.

Nothing that we would say but we would not advocate those with difficulties with stairs and handling luggage. As there are about 3 to 4 steps leading into the entrance then a further 4 or 5 steps to navigate before you get to a lift that takes you up a floor to the receptionist area. We could not see wheelchair access. This is for information only as there was nothing that we did not like and we would book here again.

We were relocated from Centre hotel Skjaldbreid to the Centre hotel Plaza, which is a sister hotel before check in. We were informed by email due to unseen circumstances. The Plaza was located in front of a busy but beautiful little square and next to a delightful ice-cream parlour. The room had an amazing view. It was comfortable and very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and there were plenty of choices. The location was excellent, close to shops and eateries. We would now choose to book at Centre hotel Plaza when we return in the future.

It's in a lively location and can be noisy at the front, of the building with lots going on. This was not a problem for us as it was great to be in the hub of things. So it's just for the review purposes to inform.

Staff was wonderful. Super helpful and friendly. Good Internet. Comfortable beds. And the Location!!!! Best possible location ever!!!! Stayed there 4 days and went on an 8 day tour and then returned. They greeted me with a Welcome Back treat of macarons. Wonderful gesture. Loved them for it

Some steps outside the building and to get to the elevator. I didn't know about them. And maybe difficult with luggage. Otherwise perfectly manageable

The hotel is located in the main street of Reykjavik, all the most important spots are close to the hotel. There is a lot of restaurants and coffees close to the hotel. Bus stop #14 is about 6 minutes walking. The Hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly and open to talk and clarify all my concerns and questions about the city. I will stay here in my next visit to Iceland. And additional point, the price vs the experience is well balanced, I love this hotel.

Because it's located in the main street, there are some people during the weekends that are drunk and are walking around the street breaking glasses and bottles. For a family this will be a red flag if they stay in this hotel. I know that the city is going to work and fix this problem.

Great location on the main shopping street in Reykjavik. So lots of shops and eating places nearby. The bed was really comfortable and staff were friendly. Breakfast had all you needed. I walked from bus station and it took about 20mins.

Music bar straight across the street was noisy. But with the window closed and earplugs in, I had no trouble sleeping. Also with the summer light, I was thankful for my eye mask to keep the light out, as the curtains weren't block-out ones. There are some stairs to initially enter the building and then a lift is available for between floors.

This was our second visit, coming back after a trek across the Highlands of Iceland. The hotel let us leave our our non-trek luggage with them which was so convenient. When we checked into our room, it was larger than the first time and we had a tray with 3 macrons and a thank you note -- really nice touch! Others have commented that the 3 steps into the hotel and then 3 more up to the elevator are a pain; I don't know if I'd go that far, just be aware. We were traveling with two med backpacks, a large suitcase and a large rolling duffel, remember we were going on a trek, and we aren't spring chickens, but it was very manageable. Breakfast is good, lots of traditional Icelandic options, not typical American fare so don't expect it. We always left full and ready to face the day.

The location was perfect for shopping, restaurants, getting to the Hop on/off bus and the active music scene. The breakfast was very good! Gigi was wonderful as was the other young lady in the front office.

According to my husband, an electrician/computer geek, there were some serious problems with some of the outlets which no longer worked. So we had nowhere to plug in 2 cell phone chargers and a watch charger. Luckily I brought my 45w battery pack which allowed us to use it as the base to charge in the Apple watch, cell phones, and Ipad.

Great location for accessing the city and sites on foot. Included a lite breakfast which was nice. Beds were comfy.

No parking included and right off the pedestrian streets we had to carry our luggage a little ways. Not a huge deal but something to be aware of. Had to park on the street overnight which wasn’t too expensive but we had to move the car a couple times so that we could unload luggage and then park longer in a cheaper location. We didn’t need the car once we settled in. It is right next to a bar with live music and they play late. It was pretty loud. They ended at midnight so if you’re up late it may not bother you.
