Very central for everything, restaurants, bars, bus stops just a two minute walk from rainbow street perfect location. Clean room extremely comfortable bed, although there was no reception you could request extra towels, coffee/tea via email, housekeeping were around until 4pm everyday and would help if you needed anything.

The hotel was in the heart of the city and the bars would stay open until 1am, you could hear people leaving the bars and talking loudly, it didn’t bother us all but it may bother light sleepers. Also room could get a bit too hot, but it is Iceland and better a bit hot than cold.

The code to get into the building worked fine for us, and the rooms were large. There were earplugs and we did not find the noise too aggravating, although there WAS intermittent noise throughout the night. There were plenty of outlets for charging stuff. The location is great for getting food and seeing the sights of Reykjavik.

Biggest issue for us was that it was a non-refundable booking and due to a death in the family we had to leave early with no refund. There is not breakfast, and there is not any on-site staff, just so those who are booking are aware. (Breakfast is available many places nearby though!) The building is pretty old and some things are hard to make LOOK clean, although I think it all had been cleaned.

When we went for breakfast downstairs it’s run by a different company and they were moaning nobody tells them how many are coming for breakfast, therefore wasn’t much choice with cold meats and cheeses and no hot food at all. If we travel to Reykjavík again, we would stay here again but would eat breakfast elsewhere unless the 2 companies start communicating

The location (1 min to the Rainbow Street), the comfort, the contactless check-in and the remote assistance while I was there. Plus the accurate cleaning service (thank to a very good professional)

After five nights, I asked for a room cleaning, and nothing happened. As soon as I asked for assistance, they granted the cleaning for the day after saying that they had a lot of people checking out, so there were a lot of rooms to clean (!). I’d also like to have a small table to work, but there is no table in the room.

This is my second time staying here and I would always choose this hotel because of the location. So close to bus stop 6 (about a 5 minute walk with a New York walking pace). So many shops nearby. The grocery store is nearby as well. Located right around the corner from rainbow street. I walked everywhere. It is self service but the supplies were stocked. It’s on top of a restaurant so you may get some food smells. Also located on a strip with 2-3 bars so if you have the window open you will hear some noise but they provide free earplugs. Only con were the pillows - they were really flat and uncomfortable

We loved this hotel for it's location and would stay here again, its just off one of the main high streets for shopping, bistros, Hallgrimskirkja cathedral and not far from the Harpa concert hall. We had a room on the top( 5th floor ) which was a good size, with a balcony and views of the cathedral although I imagine the lower floors don't have great views as it's very close to pubs on a side street, so we were lucky. The hotel is next door to a live music venue which we visited one night and had a great time singing along to classic rock tunes! We didn't notice too much noise during the night but maybe because we were on the top floor and perhaps the city isn't as busy between Christmas and new year. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from "bus stop 6" which was useful as we booked a few coach tours during our stay. The hotel doesn't have a reception and access is via touchscreen keypads at the front entrance and to the room itself which was easy and straightforward to use. The hotel room has under floor heating which kept it cosy and warm.

The bathroom would be better if it had a couple of hooks or an additional rail to hang up /dry towels.. as we try to avoid asking for fresh towels every day. The room wasn't great for reading as the ceiling light and bedside table lamp were a bit dull. But didn't matter to us that much as we were out and about mostly.

It was in down town with many stores/restaurants close by, great location once you know it's 45 minutes from airport. Clean, nice. Would be nice if there was more information in the room about town and things to do and how to get around. We were there on a 2 day stopover.

No humans around to ask anything or have any kind of support. Stickers said water clean enough to drink from tap but would have been nice to have some water bottles. Also shampoo/conditioner/fan were packed inside sink cavity which we didn't realize that it opens until end of our trip... also took some points for location- over all is in great location but the fact that it was 45 minutes from the airport was not clear when I booked it. I like to stay by airport and this significantly added costs to our stay as ee had to take the bus multiple times to go back towards airport area and this was not planned at all. Also would like to get more towels. Question below asks about closest beach- would have been nice to know these local spots when we got to the room...

Great location for city , easy to check in , no issues

Just a small thing , when you first check in and use access code ,you think it hasn't worked asdoor doesn't open , but enter code and then move over and stand in front of door as it works on motion sensor

Location was fantastic for Reykjavik, close to food, bars, attractions and I managed to get some nice sunset views from my window.

I didn't personally experience anything I didn't like so all good for me.

The amenities were great, and everything was well-maintained. Despite being in a central location, the hotel was quiet, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Overall, I highly recommend Midtown Hotel for travelers looking for a convenient, comfortable, and well-located place to stay in Reykjavik. It was an excellent choice for our trip, and I would definitely stay here again!

One thing to note is that the hotel operates with a fully automated check-in system, which was very smooth and efficient. We received all the necessary instructions beforehand, and accessing our room was hassle-free. However, there is no reception, so if you prefer having staff available for questions or recommendations, this could be a downside. Personally, it wasn’t an issue for me, as everything was well-organized, and we didn’t run into any problems.
