Location, comfortable bed, clean room

The room is a bit small, we had no control of the temperature. There is no easy way to take a shower without flooding the bathroom floor. My wife thought the breakfast was really food, but I thought it was just OK. If you have a car you have to park on the street and it’s $2.50 per hour 9-9 daily.

This hotel is beautiful and modern, with gorgeous rooms, decor, and lobby. The staff is there around the clock (literally, reception is open 24/7) and are so friendly. Our room was ready at 9am, hours before the normal check in, which was very convenient. We didn't have the breakfast, but it is available. The curtains did a great job at blocking out the midnight sun. The bed was bouncy and comfortable, with two separate comforters (as is customary in Iceland). The real star was the bathroom-- it was so large and beautiful. The hot water didn't smell like sulfur, which is rare in Iceland, so the hotel must have invested in additional filters. The bathroom felt luxurious: the intense water pressure, lovely soaps, fluffy towels that are laid over a towel warmer. It was a very nice experience after long days traveling around Iceland. The location is very central, so there was some chatter outside at night, but nothing crazy.

The bathroom vent van is small and not very productive, so the bathroom gets very steamy after a shower. Coupled with the windows, which only crack open at the very top, the room is hard to air out after a hot shower. I could see it getting too warm in the room if the weather was not as cold as it was. As some other reviews say, the hotel isn't what would be considered 4 stars in the USA or some other countries, lacking amenities like bellhops, early check in, room service, etc, but it was the nicest place we stayed in while in Iceland. It has many luxuries that most Iceland hotels don't have.

Fabulous hotel and fabulous staff !!! THIS is the PLACE to STAY in Reykjavik !! Perfectly placed - calm and classy !! Every detail is carefully prepared !! EXCELLENT in EVERY WAY !!! I stayed with a group of 46 and each had personal attention !! BRAVO to ALL THE TEAM !!! I must also say that the hotel houses one of the best restaurants in the city !!! The staff there is also TOP CLASS and the food is amazing !!! ATTENTION it fills up very fast every noon and evening !!

There is NOTHING that was out of place !! Everything was truly PERFECT !!! BRAVO !!! And many thanks to all the team !!

After sleeping in dorm-type rooms for a week we wanted a nice place to stay before flying home. This place was perfect. We reserved a suite with a balcony on the top floor for two nights. We had 270° views of ocean, mountains and the church. The location is ideal and the front-desk staff were very nice. We had a bathtub and refrigerator. We were so happy to stay here, it was a perfect way to end our vacation.

We were concerned about not having a parking lot. But free street parking was available a few blocks away. We left a car parked for two nights at no charge about a 5-10 minute walk away.

The location was good for us. We found everything was very walkable. The staff was excellent, both friendly and helpful. The cleanliness standards were high. We found it very easy to get everywhere we needed to go on foot.

The occasional sulfur smell of the water probably just comes with volcanic Iceland and geothermal heating. It did take a while to et hot water to shave in the morning, but once it comes, it is hot. Understanding Iceland's climate, a bit larger window opening would be useful to better regulate room temperature. Obviously, there just isn't much to complain about. Good value.

The hotel is perfect for couples and families who want an easy base to explore the city. Rooms are good, clean and en-suites tacked onto the room and also clean. The breakfast was good with hot and cold options. Staff were friendly, with a special mention to the night manager, Gunnar who was friendly, energetic and happy to answer questions. If we come back to Iceland, we will definitely look to come back to this hotel.

Only reason for 4/5 is just because there is not a lot of options to put clothes away (eg a chest of drawers etc) there is a rail for trousers and shirts and sufficient hooks.

Location was perfect. Beside all the shops, restaurants, pubs. 2 minutes walk in either direction to rainbow street and famous church. Hotel quiet, good night sleep had . Beds comfy. Toiletries nice. Reception staff extremely helpful. If you require a taxi, ask them to book it for you as they use a reliable local service. I had booked my own taxi which did not show for my return flight. Only for the assistance of the staff I would have missed my flight. Located 5 min walk to bus stop 8 and bus stop 6.

The location was perfect. The hotel is located within walking distance to the waterfront as well as the town which has tons of shopping, bars, and great restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel called Snaps was fantastic and the staff there made excellent drinks! They have a continental breakfast every morning but it is not complimentary.

The maids were very noisy in the morning when I wanted to sleep in a little bit with my jet lag. I heard doors slamming and other noises that woke me up.

EXCELLENT HOTEL !! THE place to stay while in Reykjavik!! Perfectly placed everything easily on foot - wonderful kind and attentive staff ! Very professional clean - amazing beds and great showers and products. Really you will feel even better than at home here !! Don't hesitate book ! AND the cherry on the cake is the fabulous restaurant housed in the hotel. AMAZING FOOD and the waiters are tip top !!! You will have everything that you need and more all in one place !

The location can't be beat. In the heart of Rekyavik with a great resutaunt (Snaps) right on the 1st floor. Beds were really comfortable. Large bathrom and great size room.

I would only ask that there be chairs on the balcony. THe balcony also like all the balconies in town do not have awnings so you cannot use them (without an umbrella) if it is raining which it seems to do alot in Septmber. Also took a while to figure out the shower. I had to go in and show my wife how it works. (I won't be a spoiler and leave it to you to figure out)
