Nikola was a very sweet person and helpful, keeping the kitchen and dining room clean and tidy and helping out when needed, and always with good manners.. My small cozy one-bed room was clean,comfortable bed and had everything i needed

I would put on perhaps better curtains in the room, to make it darker in light iceland’s summer nights, But I fortunately had my blindfold with me;)

This is a very welcoming guesthouse. The hosts are super friendly. There is a shared kitchen that guests are welcome to use, coffee is always available, provided by the hosts, and there are also cereals and milk available although there is no breakfast advertised at all; a welcoming common room where you can eat or browse photo books about Iceland. My room was spacious, with a good desk, I was very happy even if it was with shared facilities.

Returning to Eric the Red Guesthouse for our second stay confirmed what we already knew - this place is absolutely outstanding! The host's genuine warmth and incredible hospitality somehow managed to exceed our already high expectations. His generosity and willingness to help made our time in Reykjavik truly unforgettable. The apartment's comfort combined with the host's exceptional care creates an experience that sets the gold standard for hospitality in Iceland.

First time we arrived the check-in process was a little confusing because we drove in at the other entrance, however second time it was easy because we knew the way.

We stayed at Eric the Guesthouse the first and the last day of our 5-day trip to Iceland. We were very warmly welcomed. The host family is very lovely and helpful. There is always coffee and tea, very well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for your own groceries. The room had a super comfortable bed and comes with towels, soap and shampoo. The location is convenient and everything in the downtown area is within walking distance. The second night we stayed at the apartment which is close to the main house, brand new and has everything you need. A perfect private spot to spend our last night in the city.

Perfect location in the very center, close to that highest church and bus station (no need to take a city bus from/to it, as I have realized, since you can walk there in 5-7 minutes). Small guesthouse, very quiet outside and inside, there are all main facilities for making your breakfast or other eating by yourself (the kitchen, etc.). Nice and comfortable room with many places of electric sockets for charging your phone or computer. I felt like at home.

It would be good to put some curtains on the bathroom window, since the light comes to the room in the night time in this period of a polar day, that is, no dark time at night. I was also worrying about entering the guesthouse after 11p.m., since it is written that it is open until this time (but maybe there are some secrets for entering later, which I didn't asked for).

Excellent choice if you visit Reykjavik on a budget. The position is just unbeatable, a stone throw away from the church and 10 minutes walk from the bus terminal. Room was small but clean and had everything that was expected. The bathroom was shared with a few other rooms but always clean and well kept. The shared kitchen has good equipment to cook your meals, and if you are lucky you might find some food labelled as "free" left over by previous guests. Staff was super friendly and helpful, as were the other guests we met. Definitely recommended.

The location was ideal, almost across the street from the church. While the rooms were a bit on the older side, it was clean and maintained well, so we had no issues. Comfortable beds. The price and the central location would definitely encourage me to stay here again if I ever get the chance to visit Iceland next time!

The water running from the faucet smelled like sulfur, which is understandable due to the geothermal water in Iceland, so it was expected. However, the walls were a bit thinner than we hoped, as we could hear the neighbouring rooms, especially younger children of guests, making noise in the early hours of the morning.

We had a comfortable and brilliant stay at a nearby apartment with great facilities (we were moved from main guesthouse as apparantly there was a water leak in our booked room. The host was helpful, gracious and friendly. It was really close to the ain church and very easy and quick to walk to the downtown and old town area With the windows closed it was quiet and peaceful and no noise any neighbours or the street

The parking was confusing and it took us about 15 minutes and getting the Parka app before we understood the different parking zones and prices ansd therefore where we could park affordably nearby (which we did relatively easily in the end). The host should have explianed the parking in Reykjavik far more precisely.

Spacious 2 twin bedroom was quiet despite being near the kitchen. I was able to block out light for sleeping and nice view in the day. When I had difficulty with the controls on the induction cooktop staff and other folks were able to help me out. Good size fridge, dishwasher. Long table in the dining room was conducive to striking up conversations with others. Staff were friendly and helpful. I met some interesting people there and the atmosphere was warm. Great location near the white church and walkable to the bus station. One of my favourite guest houses!

Perfect location, easy walking distance from the center, and a really cosy, local vibe overall. Upon arrival we were greeted with a personal welcome letter explaining where to find our room and other tips about the house and the area. The bed was super comfortable, and when I complimented on it the next morning, the manager told me they just changed the mattresses to brand new ones. Easy to walk to breakfast places and bakeries in the morning and restaurants in the evening, easy parking in the streets nearby. There was even a local gallery opening just around the corner during our stay! We booked this place for our first night before going on a road trip in Iceland, and because we enjoyed it so much, we decided to book it again for our last night as well, before we took our plane back home. We would gladly stay here again in the future!
