Tyr apartments are perfectly situated for exploring Reykjavik and further afield. They are walking distance from many central attractions and from good shopping and eating areas. Our apartment was well equipped, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. We loved it!

The bins for sll of the apartments were right outside the french doors so we had to keep the blinds closed for privacy

It’s difficult to comment on this apartment as we ended up not staying there. The apartment we were moved to (or should have gone to originally- mix up with communication) was amazing, brand new and a great location. Amazing view from balcony, shower was great, plenty of room and the kitchen was well equipped. Had the Wi-Fi worked I would have rated this a 10/10. Communication was good - just didn’t get the problem (Wi-Fi) resolved.

The Wi-Fi did not work having contacting them to get passwords etc. which with 3 teenagers was a requirement for us and there was no hairdryer - which was rectified. No curtains in the living room which made it difficult for our 16yr old to get to sleep on the sofa.

Really enjoyed the location. It is arguably the perfect spot. It’s close to almost everything in downtown and the area is extremely walkable. It’s only a few blocks from a great coastal view. Having breakfast while just a couple of blocks away was amazing.

The neighbors could get noisy and the front/main door was easily and accidentally shut very loudly. Overall most were quiet but that front door got me a few times. I felt really bad and made sure to be careful about how we left.

Excellent location, very close to centre and bus stops for trips. Very warm apartment with comfort beds and piping hot water.

Room wasn't exactly as described, no balcony/terrace, windows that weren't that easy to use and opened up onto pavement, leaving little privacy if open. Could do with more cooking equipment, supplied with 1 pan and 1 frying pan. Microwave is too high up, had to stand on a chair to use, not ideal with hot items! This wouldn't stop me revisiting or recommending though.

The apartments are in a great location. Equipped with modern furnishings. The place was clean and had everything we needed for our few day stay. A nice place to relax after a busy day exploring Iceland. While the property doesn’t have private parking, we always found parking on the street below or nearby. Would stay again if returning to Reykjavik.

The only issue we faced was with the Wifi. We were able to connect to the network(s), but it was very weak and could not load even basic things (e.g. google searches or maps). Thankfully we received a portable internet dongle as part of our car rental package and were able to use this instead. Otherwise, this could have been quite annoying.

Location was excellent. Everything was in close walking distance. The number 11 bus stop was at the end of road and we used this as the pick up for all our tours and the airport pick up. It was ideal. The apartment was well set up, everything you could need. Great shower, comfortable beds and good heating system (adjustable radiators in each room so you can higher lower as required)Reminder to any Irish/English to bring your plug adapters. We forgot ours. Eventually, we did find one in a tourist shop near the cathedral but wasted a bit of time looking.

The apartment had an expectional location in the centre of Reykavik. It is a stone's throw away from the main street of the city. Just as you get on the high street there is a supermarket and just opposite there is a small place to eat which serves soup in a bread bowl (svarta kaffid - would highly recommend). The apartment is a 20min walk away from one of the bus terminals where you can get a bus to the airport and some tourist trips leave from there too. About 10mins further, you can get to Perlan which has views the city and interesting exhibits about volcanoes, glaciers, northern lights etc. The apartment has code access rather than key which is very handy when different members of the group want to leave or return to the apartment at different times. The apartment itself is spacious and well heated. It's also very modern and clean and ours had a small balcony. The sofa bed is quite large and almost makes a fully sized bed when opened up. The bathroom was very big and the walk-in shower had good water pressure and lovely warm water. We had very good communication with the host who was very helpful and quick to respond. I would definitely recommend this apartment and if I were to come to Iceland again, I would love to stay here again.

There was only one pot and one pan which is a bit tricky if you want to cook more rather than eat out. In general, there could be more plates, cups, cutlery etc. Given we were staying in winter, it would be helpful to have a mat to catch water from the shoes as the snow melts so it wouldn't go everywhere. In addition, although there were plenty of hangers there was no proper wardrobe with shelves or drawers which made it difficult to unpack properly.

The location was great. We could see the northern lights from our living room skylight! Just incredible. We always found free parking along barronstugar.

The slanted walls made it tricky for maneuvering getting in and out of bed. The main bedroom would have been great to have 1 larger size bed rather than two singles. There is 1 washer and dryer for the apartment building (very small). You can’t run both at the same time and the dryer never actually dried out clothes despite running multiple times.

The apartment was clean, nicely decorated and well planned out. There were enough plates, cups and cutlery for basic eating and drinking. Since it was sunny and relatively warm when we got there it was nice that the windows were a little bit open so the air was fresh and not super hot in the apartment, which was on the top floor.

It would have been helpful if there had been at least a dustpan and brush in the apartment for quick clean up of scrubs etc.

Excellent stay. Centrally located, clean, easy access, reasonably comfortable furniture, warm, and quiet! Appreciated the access to luggage storage and laundry in building, both of which made my life easier. Great kitchen with all of the essentials. Nice little patio, although it was too cold to use on my trip. Under-appreciated aspect: With windows facing both both ~east and ~west, allowing for a peek out in both directions for aurora activity. Multiple times I glanced out and saw northern lights dancing above in one of those directions, allowing me to throw on a coat and walk to the waterfront fast enough to watch before they faded.

No dealbreakers, just quibbles. Shower is tiny. It doesn't look tiny at first, but then you realize there's a curtain dividing it in half and because the floor only slopes in that half within the curtain, using more than half the shower leads to water escaping into the rest of the bathroom. With curtain closed it's very small. Stubbed my toe on the raised door frame of the bathroom multiple times to the point I put a suitcase in front of it as a reminder.
