Fantastic location. Bus stop #13 is right in front of the hotel which makes day trip pick up and drop off super easy. Close to many restaurants and shopping area. Great accommodation. Big and delicious breakfast buffet spread. Friendly and helpful staff

Location: around the corner from Loa Restaurant, which we greatly appreciated in the cold winter Breakfast: get there ON TIME because everybody is going on a tour and will be queuing up for a table! Needless to say, breakfast was an amazing spread with plenty of Icelandic fare as well. Was nice to try skyr, rye bread and marinated herring! Outdoor pool, indoor thermal spring and sauna: this was definitely the highlight of our stay, since during our trip, the lagoons were either full or closed. You have the option to order from the bar straight from the outdoor hot pool!! It is also open till 10pm. Amazing to have a drink in the 40C water while it's snowing on you. With the number of people at breakfast, they are very smart to provide small plates to prevent wastage.

Perhaps a sign could be put up at spa area and outdoor pool to remind guests to keep quiet and not use their mobile phones (ESPECIALLY for video calls. Who wants to be randomly filmed in their swimsuit??). Very loud chatting kind of put a damper on our experience. It's not nice to be relaxing in a hot bath with the snowflakes falling on you while you listen to someone's loud life story or opinion on politics...

I stayed 5 days in Midgardur and I was sorry when I left. A hotel with an excellent position, with rooms with minimalist furniture that does not tire, with a lot of warmth. Excellent breakfast and the restaurant with refined dishes. I especially appreciated the kindness of the staff at the reception and the help given to solve other problems not directly related to the hotel: information for parking lots and their payment method, related to excursions, transfers of others. In contrast to the cold weather and the strong wind outside, the hotel was an oasis of warmth.

Excellent location, away from the crowds and traffic , and yet so close to city center . All major attractions , shopping, restaurants , cafes, bars are within walking distance. Tour bus stop no 13 is right outside the hotel making it very convenient to go on day tours. The property is very clean and well maintained.

For the rate they are charging room was very small and not well designed. Simple things like to turn on the lights is challenging. The switch functionality keeps changing so you do not know which light will turn on next. The door to bathroom is made of glass, has no locks and keeps swaying. If you are are travelling with a partner it is quite embarrassing. More over the bathroom has no heat and it can get quite chilly at night, even in summer. Either the front desk or room service never pick up the phone , it goes to voicemail and you get voicemail full.

The hotel is in the city centre, so the main street with its many souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants is just around the corner. The main attractions are almost all within walking distance. The room was comfortable and the spa area with hot tube and sauna was a very nice addition. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and there was a wide variety of food to choose from. However, half board is not really half board as you may be used to from other hotels. You just get a voucher for a 2 course dinner that you can use in the hotel restaurant. Appetizer + main course or main course + dessert. All additionals like soft drinks, teas are not included. Still, the restaurant was very good and the food was very delicious - I would just like information on how the half board works in advance.

Everything was amazing staff , room , vibes , location, spa , comfort : More than perfect. Also shout out to Silvia and the rest of the team for making our stay and our anniversary extra special and unforgettable. So i would like to thank you for everything.

The breakfast was very cold and not many options also the bakeries wasn’t fresh at all. I had 4 nights and all of them are the same.

room well appointed and great that the window opened. comfortable bed. breakfast was over-crowded and the staff were rushing around trying to top up items which had been used up. Otherwise good breakfast. Location excellent and couldn't have been better, combining closeness to central shops and facilities with quiet. Staff friendly and efficient; very helpful.

The table with kettle and teas etc. was too small and cramped. Some herbal and green teas would have been welcome. The trendy room numbers on the walls of the room corridors were unnecessarily confusing until one got used to them.

The hotel is conveniently located close to downtown, with a lot of shops, food options and attractions within a 10-15 minutes walk. The rooms were clean, well-equipped and comfortable, and the staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.

The spa was a little disappointing - just a sauna and two hot tubs of the same temperature, one inside and one outside. No cold plunge or other way of cooling off except taking a shower. Unless you're booking a massage or other treatment, it would be much better value to go to one of the local municipal swimming pools (Sundhöllin is very close to the hotel) as they have hot tubs of different temperatures, a steam room, and a cold plunge as well as a normal swimming pool.

The hotel/restaurant staff are all lovely, polite, and very helpful, especially when we are booking tours. Good breakfast selections. The spa area was very clean and relaxing. There's no need to worry about towels or robes as they were provided in the locker area. The bedroom size is alright, with good amenities available. The only thing that I didn't like was when the safe won't open after placing my valuables in it. It got me worried, and I informed the receptionist about it. It was eventually opened by the staff with their key card. Special mentioned to Lina (the night staff) who helped a lot during our stay, arranging tours, giving us info, and ensuring that we had our airport transportation arranged.

Flora was excellent and she did us a very big favour of recommending the Northern Light on our day of arrival against our plan. We are so blessed to be able to catch the northern lights as the following days were all cancelled due to rain and cloudy. She was prompt to help us to resolve our issues with the room. Kudos to her professionalism and would highly recommend Midgardur Center for future stays. Breakfast was also excellent to our liking.

It’s an excellent place to stay. Nothing much too dislikes.
