This villa is magical. It is not easy to access- it is set up on a hill that you can only access by scooter- contact the villa and they will send a scooter down to collect you and your luggage! We didn’t know this, and we walked for 40 minutes dragging heavy suitcases in 35 degrees!!!! The villa is set among rice fields. Lush greenery, with coconuts and bananas growing. We were in the last villa, next to a jungle and oh my goodness it was amazing sitting on the balcony listening to the crickets and cicadas, next to the jungle! Walking down the path to Kidem villas, your soul feels like it’s come home. It is peaceful, comforting, and my idea of heaven. At night, you can see fireflies!!! The room itself is basic- a 4 post bed with mosquito be. Great air conditioning. A small fridge with basic mini bar. The bathroom is warm, muggy, and has a comforting Bali wood smell. A rain showerhead, with good temperature water. A bidet, and toilet paper provided. The staff are so kind and friendly and accommodating. Whenever you want a ride to go into town, just send a WhatsApp message and they take you down. The scooter ride is safe, and fun, and you get to marvel at the beauty of true Ubud on the way up and down. Some small shops and restaurants, and yoga place on the trip too. The villa owners are so kind, and have beautiful herbal tea available at night. Breakfast is simple, but delicious, and so nice to sit on the balcony on the morning and enjoy it. Very cute villa dogs too! You can easily walk into Ubud- about 10 minutes to Ubud palace and markets. Many shops on the way. Easy to meet a driver at the bottom to go on day trips, or get a taxi to take you places locally. There is a restaurant, “pomegranate” that is beautiful at night, only a 5-10 minute walk down the hill, for nights you don’t want to go into busy Ubud. There is a small pool, but we were too busy enjoying Ubud that we didn’t get a chance to use it!.

We lived everything, there honestly wasn’t anything we didn’t like! Initially we were anxious about having to get a scooter up and down, but that ended up being one of our favorite parts of our day! So much fun! If I HAD to pick a negative, maybe the water drainage in the bathroom - water gets everywhere from the shower to the toilet, and took all night to dry. Really nothing to complain bout at all!!!

I recently had the privilege of staying at Kidem and Wayan's villa in Ubud, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the warmth and care they extended to me during my time there. Upon arrival, I was grappling with the sudden loss of my beloved pet cat, and their compassion and support were nothing short of remarkable. Kidem and Wayan went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, preparing soothing herbal teas and offering a listening ear whenever I needed it. Despite the heaviness of my heart, I found solace in the serene surroundings of their villa, knowing that I was in a safe haven to begin my healing journey. The villa itself is a testament to their dedication to hospitality and every detail meticulously attended to, ensuring a seamless and comfortable stay. Wayan's attentive service and Kidem's warm presence made me feel like part of their extended family. It's rare to encounter such genuine care and kindness, and I am deeply grateful for the sanctuary they provided me during a challenging time. Without hesitation, I can say that whenever I return to Ubud, Kidem and Wayan's villa will be my first choice for accommodation. Their unwavering hospitality has left a lasting impression on me, and I wholeheartedly recommend their villa to anyone seeking not just a place to stay, but a true home away from home."

The calmness, the vibe and the fact that you can go there only by bike from a pick up point makes it a true Balinese experience. Staying in the center of Ubud and yet away from noise is a plus. Loved the use of earthy materials in the design of Villa. And the owner Kidem is such a nice person and so is his wife. They really take care of all your needs with a prompt response. You can book a tour(s) with Kidem which is a big plus!

Can’t remember any thing which I would call bad!

Very cute & very cosy . We went in the dry season ( May ) Only got bitten by mossies one night sitting outside at restaurants down the road. Beautiful surroundings around rice view , some with water & without water . So quiet too . They put mossies disfuser smoke thing to prevent them coming inside every night . Breakfast was gorgeous. The staffs were kindly to ride us on motorcycles to drop us to the gate early morning to meet our tour driver & also to pick us up . In our 50,s we were too tired to walk 1.9k up the hill . We definitely be back . The street down the road 2k from villa is also good and flat walking to visit the shop

The room gets too hot when we return from a long day as aircon is turned off. It takes a little while to cool down again .

Our stay was absolutely perfect, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Bali. Kidem and his staffs were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. He also helped us arrange a fantastic day trip to East Bali and also organized our transfer to the airport, which made our travel plans completely stress-free. The location is a dream if you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Tucked away in the middle of beautiful rice fields, the views are stunning and the atmosphere is so peaceful and serene. While it's a little way from the chaotic center of Ubud, they kindly offer free and convenient motorbike transfers to and from town. If you're looking for a genuine, peaceful, and wonderfully hosted Bali experience, this is it!

This property was one of the best i stayed in during my 6weeks travelling. Its set in beautiful rice fields and you can go to sleep with the sound of the frogs ribbiting, or watch the sunrise / set from your veranda. The villas are set slightly back from each other for good levels of privacy. The swimming pool is small but deep and great for chilling in after you have spent a busy day sight seeing. The staff are lovely - nothing is too big or small for them and they were routinely checking in with me to make sure I had everything i needed. Rooms are cleaned every day.Make sure you try the herbal tea they offer you - its delicious and i asked for the herbs so that I can make it when i get home. The hotel is far enough away from Ubud centre so that you feel removed from the hustle and bustle, but is only a 10 min stroll. There are lots of warungs on the way into town - the indian right by Love Spa was the only one I tried and that was amazing. There is also a wood carving and artists hut on the trail into town - i bought some very good art at a great price. Much better quality than the stuff in the Ubud Market. Overall I loved my stay here and wished I had spent longer there. I will definately come back one day.

Kidem Ubud Villas is truly second to none. With exceptional service, attentive staff, and an owner who personally ensures every detail is perfect, this is a haven of tranquility and hospitality in Ubud. We really enjoyed every moment of our stay and would highly recommend this place. We loved being able to listen to the frog chorus and watch the firefly show from our outdoor seating area. It was quite magical. The tranquil plunge pool was an added bonus we were not expecting. There was also a very cute friendly dog (the owners) who visited us every day. She was delightful. Amazing! Thank you

This was my first solo trip in years (I LOVE solo travelling), to escape from mum's life and from the urban Melbourne chaos. Kidem was the best place I could think of in terms of everything - the location, the quietness, the comfort, the rice field views, the vibe, the people. The bed was comfy, breakfast was served right at the villa, Kidem and Wayan responded to my messages in WhatsApp almost instantly. Very kind people, very approachable, and yet, they respect your privacy. I think it's a perfect spot for someone who needs to get away from everything and everyone. Someone who wants to wake up with the birds and roosters, meditate and read a book, or just enjoy the nature around. Perfect for a solo traveller or a couple.

The only thing that I found deceiving was the pool. It looks more like a fish pond. Although I loved my stay, I wouldn't bring my little one until he is more or less independent and can be taken on a bike. The path that runs through the fields is not ideal for prams (rather narrow with bikes going past). I used Gojek a lot to get back from town.

Very beautiful setting in the middle of the rice fields! Quite dreamy. The room was spacious clean and comfortable !! Excellent breakfast and kind staff.

Big downside for me was the location. From the main road you have to drive for 10min on a narrow path through the rice fields and then walk a few minutes to reach the hotel. It’s fine if you plan to just go there to sleep and have breakfast in the morning but if you like to come in and out of your hotel throughout the day (like me) it’s quite unpractical how secluded the place is.

Staffs were always kind and helpful. They helped us carry our luggage dropped off at the big road and responded quickly. The view was amazing and reasonable to stay.

We've got a message that the accommodation meeting point was different address just before the check in because the car can't approach to the place. But we're already almost there so wasted some time and money to go back all the way to the meeting point. It would be nicer if owner can send a message about the meeting point earlier than that.
