Arguably the 2br villa in Gynandha Ubud Cottage is the best overall accommodation in Ubud. Yes that is a big statement! Let me elaborate. Over the years I have stayed in many places, in various locations around Ubud, from mid range and luxury resorts to air b&b’s and villas. This villa is brand new and luxurious with a huge pool. As good a villa as you will find. The location is very arguably the best location of any accommodation in Ubud. It is a three minute walk from central Ubud, yet it is quite, set in and I mean in the rice fields that make up the incredibly popular sweet orange and sari organic walks. You are only minutes walk from some of Ubuds most famous landmarks and Restaurants. It is so so quiet and private, even though it is part of the beautiful Gynandha Ubud Cottage you feel like you’re on your own private rice field. The value for money for what you get is outstanding and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!!

Nothing it’s perfect

Don't be put off by the reviews commenting on steep access, it's only like that for a short initial bit, then it's pretty much flat. Won't be a problem unless you have mobility issues. Pool is awesome, staff was super helpful and nice.

Water pressure in the shower was weak, hard to regulate temperature. Staff English was a bit tricky at times but no big deal.

It's such a lovely place , everything was amazing . The manager Budhi was an amazing manager going out of his way to help with anything you needed , even when a transfer didn't go well because of miscommunication on time , he reorganised a plan B very quickly on his day off ! I I made my transfer . Location is great , you must stay if in Ubud.

Didn't affect me , but be aware if not very mobile there is a steep walk to Hotel , but if you contact the team they will come and get you on a scooter .

My family and I stayed in Gynandha Ubud Cottage for one week during our time in Bali. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They couldn’t have been more helpful. The pool, massage & breakfast were all great! Location wise, this hotel is perfect as it is very central in Ubud. The rooms were immaculate and the beds were super comfortable and big! Thank you so much to everyone working at Gynandha - we loved our stay and hope to return some day

Spent 3 nights in the Gynandha cottage. When you get dropped off in a taxi it is a walk up a hill and a winding path along a stream but by god is it worth it when you check in!! Staff, cleanliness and food is superb. It’s a 5 minute walk into the main tourist street in Ubud. Easy spot to experience the city on foot. The staff can’t do enough for you. The cottage has small numbers of guests so you feel like a priority. Breakfast is fabulous. Have it in the restaurant with the views of the landscaping. Everything is cooked fresh to order

The coffee wasn’t amazing! A French press with grounds but I would have enjoyed a stronger coffee. I just didn’t enjoy it but I like good coffee

Loved the location, just off the main strip of shops ,markets, and cafes. Close to the Sweet Orange Rice terrace walk. Beautiful pool area. Close to everything but so quiet and peaceful Loved that they are environmentally conscious, you got 4 bottles of complementary drinking water in your room each day filled in reusable glass bottles not plastic.! A big tick for me

Pool was great but limited sunbeds which could be a problem if busy. We didn't have an issue while we were there. Also they didn't serve drinks or food by the pool.

It was located at the main roads so it was quite near to a lot of attractions and restaurants. The staffs were extermely friendly and helpful. Would definately come back here again next time when I come to Ubud.

As it was a private property, cars were not allowed to drive into it hence people need to walk from the main gate. However, you can ask the staff to pick you up so it is not really a problem.

Lovely setting

They did warn that there is no way to take a taxi or car to the entrance - must walk- but the very steep hill at the entrance is a challenge for older travelers. They were willing to pick you up on a motorcycle but that is also a challenge for older tourists

Very professional staff and good service! Very close to the main street. Don’t bother reading other reviews saying it’s difficult to access the hotel… the road isn’t even steep as described.

Nothing to dislike.

The rooms were spacious and clean - with big showers. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The views over the hotel grounds and pools were lovely, and they take great pride in the upkeep of the gardens/flowers. The pools were refreshingly cool & clean. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel appears newer than many in Ubud, with the lighter furnishings giving a clean & fresh vibe. It was a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

We tried the breakfast and were not a fan - very simple and bland. The walk to the hotel was dicey, and whilst it was only a few minutes uphill from the main road, you're dodging scooters, open drains on a small walkway, poor lighting at night, and unstable footing. I would not recommend for persons with a disability or young children & don't recall the hotel having elevators etc. It would be helpful if they provided an iron in the rooms or could access one at the front desk to loan.
