The staff is amazingly friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Despite the language being different, communication wasn't a problem. Also, the location is ridiculously good and we could go to the main streets and find a lot of options of restaurants, mini markets and everything else. It's walking distance from the Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, Ubud Market, Water Palace, and Sweet Orange Walk Trail. The bathroom is quite old, but was being cleaned every day, so it didn't bother me.

The wi-fi inside our room (room #2) wasn't too good. As I needed the internet to work, it was a bit annoying, but I found out that sitting in the veranda, the internet works pretty well. It's not a major issue as it's manageable, but it's quite annoying having to move there whenever you need a more reliable connection.

The accomodation was so beautiful, the traditional balinese temple architecture was stunning. The staff were so friendly and did my laundry for a good price, which smelled amazing and came back to me all folded lovely and packaged up. Was amazing location in the centre of town but not on a loud street. Lots of nice lighting in the room.

I was in a balcony room and their was stuff scurrying around in the ceiling which was slightly off putting and the door to the roof was slightly ajar so worried something was going to come in my room. I would fix this because then it was perfect and have 0 things I didn't like.

The staff were so warm and friendly. We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. Everyday the staff refill a thermos of hot water to make tea and coffee. They cleaned our room daily and changed our linen weekly. The hotel is located right in the middle of town and so close to many cafes, restaurants - everything! This accommodation is fantastic value for your money. There is filtered water available downstairs for you to replenish your water supply. The bed was reasonably comfortable, not hard like some beds in southeast Asia. WiFi was good quality.

The room and especially the bathroom could do with a refresh or renovation. The bathroom needs a really deep clean, especially the toilet which smelled of old urine.

Very traditional Balinese style inn. Everyone there were amasingly polight, kind and helpful. The location is also great, close to many of the tourists' facilties e.g. shops, restaurants, spas and etc.

The amenity is quite simple and limited but can be bought around the inn easily. The only concern is, if you have allergy or sensitivity with the house dust or something, better be a bit cautious. Depends on the room it seems to effect, my friend says. I myself was o.k. with both 2 rooms where I stayed.

The host family are super friendly! We got helped by every question or problems! For a small amount they also washed our laundry. The room was cleaned in the Momente the we left! As the sitcom was not cooling down the ready room enough they shared there own fan with us!

Bathroom can be a lit bit modern, the lights where not working all the time, could put Moskito net in front of the air vent on the Seeling and sitcom could be a lit bit more powerful :)

Upon discussing our three week stay in Indonesia, me and my girlfriend came to the conclusion that this was our favourite stay of the whole lot. Rooms are extremely cute and the decor of the door and outside walls are amazing. It is far from a big luxury hotel but what you get in return is so much more than what a place like that could give you. Hosts were so kind and gracious, unlimited supply of free tea which is of course a massive plus and the fact that this hotel has a garden with birds aswell as literal authentic praying temples made it one of our most memorable stays at such a low price. Was nearly emotional leaving the place. The fact that it’s located in such a beautiful and tropical city such as Ubud made it a truly dreamlike stay:))

Shiva House is amazing. The grounds are unbelievable..you get a real traditional homestay. The rooms are basic but clean. I had air con but no fridge. However I was able to use the share kitchen fridge. The location is brilliant. You walk through the front door and are amongst it all, shops and cafes in abundance.

Very beautiful building architecture, starting from the entrance gate. Beautiful trees in the courtyard. I liked to see the family (of the owner, I guess) living there. There are a boy and granny and grandpa, they are often in the garden/courtyard, watching tv or doing they usual routine - soft, nice people. It gave me that very nice homely feeling. I liked the fact that there was a large thermos filled with hot water waiting for me every morning. There is tea set on the tables. The lady who served us was nice and soft person. The room conditioning worked very well. I was a bit shocked by the sight of the bathroom, because it was quite poorly and it didn't look like there was given much care to it - such a big contrast with the building and the garden. But I soon realised that it was clean enough (if to compare to other inexpensive Balinese accommodations). The quality-price ratio convinced me to stay longer. I would definitely come back.

Lovely staff! They were eager to answer all of our questions and help us out. The facilities were clean and tidy. The location is central and close to all the attractions. I loved that there was always tea and coffee on the table in front of our room.

Amenities were basic but satisfactory. There was construction work going on while we were there but we just got unlucky with the timing.

The price is very cheap so the homestay should be judged based on that. The location is excellent, near Goutama Street where there are lots of great restaurants. The property is a temple so the courtyard is very beautiful. The room is basic but has A/C and wifi which is all I need since I was not in the room very much. The family that runs things are always onsite it case you have a problem.

This is an older building so don’t be alarmed by the regular small bugs (ants and gnats) that make it through the cracks. This place is better than a hostel.
