This place is such a haven, I'm immensely grateful we stayed here on my sister's recommendation, she was here two years ago. It's a rare thing but every single member of staff we encountered was so friendly and helpful in a genuine way. The pool and outdoor areas are beautiful, our room was very comfortable, the food was good, the location is perfect for exploring Ubud and right next to yoga barn if you're interested in yoga classes in walking distance. The spa was also lovely, we went twice! Definitely would recommend for a stay in Ubud, so much was within walking distance and the hotel staff also kindly arranged a trip for us.

Ubud may not be for you if you're looking for a party town, but we went to relax and do some yoga and enjoy the culture so it was perfect for our trip!

I love staying at Aura if l can get a booking as it’s so popular and a special niche boutique retreat. This was my second stay with Aura and l will be back. Why? the staff are unquestionable the best particularly the reception staff always outstanding even the smallest of question is so happy responded to unlike reception staff in other accommodation I’ve stayed. Room are very clean and spacious and as l love to be reminded that I’m in Bali, Aura does this with buckets of classic style it’s not the sterile sameness you get in larger hotels. Breakfasts are a very generous and more interesting than the standard fare, love it. And if you’re there for yoga like me it’s right next to the big yoga wellness business in Ubud. I love the addition of the yoga mat and ball in the room l used quite often.

Wish the bench around the vanity basin was bigger.

I was staying in their Studio. It was exactly as in photos, fully renovated and very beautiful room! I loved the chill vibe of this hotel and facilities, a beautiful swimming pool! I loved the little gift I got when i checked-in (with verything you need during your stay) and that they made some snacks at one point during the day (pancakes or fruit) - super great idea! It wasn't crowded around the pool, but take note to book your massage in the hotel in some time beforehand, because there can be a bit queue. The staff was very sweet and helpful, a big thanks to them! One of the staff called me just before they close the breakfast to ask if I want to have breakfast, I overslept, so it was really thoughtful, i have never experienced staff care so much about you and you having a great stay! So they were amazing, a big thanks! The breakfasts were very delicious, and a lot of good options to choose from. Yoga barn is just 3 minutes walk away, which is super convenient and the location is great. Overall a super good experience, really good value for money! I really recommend it! When I checked-in the bathtub was not cleaned properly, but the staff cleaned it again right away, so they really want you to have a great stay. If you are arachnophobic or scared of spiders as me, it can be uncomfortable and I will probably rethink the choice, as there will crawl a few spiders in everyday (more than other places where I stayed in Bali or Ubud), i don't know where they enter. The staff gave me a spray that kills them, so that helped. The small path to the hotel can seem a bit creepy (the cars cannot enter it, only scooters), but sometimes there was a few people, as some also use this way to go from Yoga barn late in the evening as well. But this is minor things, the overall experience was good!

Most reviews comment on how good the staff were, in this instance the staff were indeed excellent. We noticed that the staff interacted with each other in very social and happy manner, this flowed through to the guests, something not noticed in larger places. My wife has mobility issues and we asked to be relocated to the ground floor, the stairs to the first floor studio have a rather high rise, this was not a problem. The breakfasts and lunches were healthy and delicious, no dinner available, but walking distance to a number of excellent eateries. An espresso machine on site was a welcome bonus, the charge was lower than elsewhere, we had two iced coffees each day. The pool was excellent and just the right size for a 12 room establishment. Excellent massage facilities on site at very cheap prices. Close to Coco Supermarket and Yoga Barn back entrance just 15 mtrs away.

After our three week stay there was nothing negative that we noticed. The laneway to the place was in need of repairs at first 50 mtrs from the main road but OK as it neared the establishment. It was a challenge for my wife, but not a problem for an able person. This issue is not a fault of the establishment.

The Cook was great and everything he prepared for breakfast, was beautifully presented and masterfully prepared. Delicious!. I loved my room , it was a Deluxe larger than the normal room and very comfortable. I hated to leave when I did. The bed was super comfortable and felt so cozy with the mosquito netting that was tied back at the four corners. The pool was lovely and refreshing. It is located right next to the outdoor reception area and opposite the dining area, so there is really no separation of the public space. It was fun to meet other guests at the pool area and socialize, and then I also enjoyed having a very comfy room to retreat to for some privacy/ alone time away from the remainder of the guests and hotel staff on duty, who are essentially present in the same public pool/ restaurant/reception area. Nice Spa area and a good massage!

In a way it would be nice to have a little more separation at the pool from the reception area and the staff of the hotel being "ever-present'. The staff were attentive and helpful, however I like a bit more "space" at times.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ubud Aura. Our room was right by the pool, which was absolute perfection – crystal clear, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were so warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Even though the hotel was nearly full, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful – tucked away just off the main road, making it feel like a hidden sanctuary. We were right in the heart of Ubud – close enough to walk to the Monkey Forest (about 10 minutes), and right next to the famous Yoga Barn for those who love yoga. Lumeria Wellness and many beautiful spas were also nearby. While the access lane can be tricky for some drivers, the location itself is serene and totally worth it. If you don’t feel like walking, Grab bikes and cars are easily available. About halfway through our stay, I unfortunately sprained my foot very badly – I couldn’t walk at all. The hotel staff immediately jumped into action and contacted Ubud Royal Medical, who came straight to my room. They were incredible – professional, compassionate, and had everything under control. They handled everything, including pain relief, follow-up reports, and were even ready to arrange transport to the hospital if needed. The hotel team constantly checked in on me, brought breakfast to my room, and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. Ubud Royal Medical also stayed in contact via WhatsApp, which made communication so easy, especially for sorting out documents for insurance purposes. Important tip: make sure you have full-coverage travel insurance, especially including medical. I also ended up needing a fit to fly certificate to get wheelchair assistance at the airport – something many people don’t realise is required, so definitely plan ahead just in case.Even with the injury, recovering at Ubud Aura felt calm, supported, and genuinely healing. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back – it’s a true gem !

If I had to mention one thing I wish had been different, it would be the breakfast – while there were plenty of options and the setting was lovely, it was mostly Western-style. My fiancé absolutely loves Balinese food, so it would have been amazing to have a traditional Balinese breakfast option too.

I booked here mostly because of its proximity to Yoga Barn which is ideal - you can literally be in a class within a few minutes. It is such a lovely place to stay apart from that though. The rooms are really comfortable and spacious and are cleaned daily. The staff are super friendly and helpful - we did a cooking class organised by them. The pool area is really nice, although we didn't get to use it too much due to the rain. The included breakfast is tasty and there's quite a few options to choose from. The location is perfect, super close to Coco Supermarket and you can walk anywhere in central Ubud which is great if you don't have a scooter. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm next in Ubud.

I love this place. Small and cozy. Stuff is amazing, especially reception girls. Everything is clean and nice. First place where was no bad smell in the room. Very comfortable room and terrace. There is place where to put things, you can easy organise your stuff there. I felt very welcome here. There is even yoga mat in the room. And enough space on terrace if you wanna do your own yoga or exercise. Perfect location, I would say right in the YogaBarn (yoga center). Very good breakfast. Amazing pool. Just excellent experience here.

An absolute haven in the centre of Ubud. The staff were an absolute delight. Always happy to help, their warmth and friendliness shone through and made our trip to Ubud so wonderful. They seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and conversing with guests about Balinese culture. The room was so relaxing and the bed was huge. The pool area was also exceptionally well maintained with comfortable loungers and pool towels available. We only stayed two nights and used the pool I think three times because it was so refreshing. We didn’t use the spa, but the facilities looked very well kept. The location is also fantastic. We ate in many amazing restaurants in Ubud and all within 10 mins walking distance (some much less). Despite its central location it was so so peaceful, which was very appreciated as the hustle and bustle of Ubud’s busy streets can be a little overwhelming! The breakfast options were also delicious. Not just “hotel breakfast” good, but genuinely good! We had the avocado toast and french toast and both were fresh and served quickly. The staff arranged laundry for us and an onward car for our ferry to Nusa Penida. We will 100% be returning and recommending this accommodation to others visiting the area. Exceptional value too. 10/10!!! Thank you so much to all the staff who made our stay so memorable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The ONLY thing I could say is that the shower over the bath was a little low and hard to angle as to not go over the bath. I got the hang of it but can imagine it would be easy to flood the bathroom without realising which could cause an issue. Otherwise can’t fault the place.

The most beautiful and amazing hotel. Close to everything but in the quiet street. Beautiful room and swimming pool. Amazing breakfast every day. Close to Yoga Barn. Lots of restaurants around and very safe to walk at night especially if you are single traveler. I had my complementary 10min foot massage on arrival, beautiful and spacious room with complementary snacks in the fridge and refillable water and also was amazed with complementary basket of goodies just for me :-) But what made my whole experience so wonderful is the people who work there. Every day they welcome you with a big smile. They attentive and accommodating and so nice and kind. Nothing is the problem for them. They really make sure that you feel welcomed and that you have the best stay in the hotel. I extended my stay there as I loved it so much. The hotel arranged for me amazing driver for safe journey to my next destination. I highly recommend this hotel and I definitely will be back! Thank you so much to everyone at the hotel.
