The room was very spacious and there was plenty of parking, ideal if you are on a road trip. The nearby pool, which is part of the hotel complex, was wonderful, being covered, it is protected from the weather, and it also has a jacuzzi and sauna, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The hotel is nicely decorated, with an impressive main staircase, and dinner at the restaurant was good value and of good quality, especially since there are no other options nearby.

Breakfast was a buffet and felt limited, with little fruit (only cut and in syrup) and few pastry or bread options. Our room was on the second floor, but the lift only goes up to the first floor, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs. The room had no air conditioning, which was a real problem during the heatwave, as it was impossible to cool it down.

Firstly the reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The evening meal was top class and the river walk after dinner was lovely!!! The room had everything you could want and was of excellent standard. The breakfast was exceptional, good quality produce, cooked to order and a range of cereals, breads, fruit, all went towards making the breakfast experience a great one. The waiting staff were very friendly and keen to offer assistance if anything else was needed. I would definitely stay again, longer next time!!

If I had to make a criticism, it's a very small, the tea at breakfast was lovely but when I ordered tea in the bar it wasn't the same quality but that is the only thing I can think of!!

I couldn’t speak more highly about our stay here. We had a family gathering for my mother’s birthday and this is one of the best locations/hotels for it. The holiday homes located right beside the main hotel was perfect for three families of four, and my mother and her partner, they had their own accessible apartment too. The only thing better than the location was the friendliness of the staff, especially the twins Josephine and Maggie, Josephine had all the names of our children on night one and made them feel important and welcomed. Maggie made sure they got the best pastries at breakfast.

The rooms are spotless, big and comfortable. The hotel is located beside the river Shannon with direct access to lovely walks and Castleconnell is 5 mins walk down the road. A visit to Bradshaws is recommended especially if you like Guinness. My mother and her partner liked it so much they are staying an extra night and we will be back to make this an annual escape.

Beautiful lovely hotel a legacy castle based. We spent two night and it was so comfortable. We booked a family room although we were just two persons as it was the only available option. The room was spacious, very comfortable bed, great shower room and conveniently warm. We loved the staff, they are very welcoming with a big smile and always there for assistance. Food bar was nice too and the breakfast was delicious with a big portion. Highly recommend it if you would like to stay out of city.

The room was recently renovated, the smell of fresh paint was high especially in the bathroom. I would recommend if they put a diffuser or air freshener. Elevetor only works for first floor and the stairs to second floor is not straightforward, you have to route a bit until you find it. I would strongly recommend that hotel shall put more signs for the way to stairs because it could be a bit confusing.

It was our first year anniversary and we choose the castle oaks house hotel and from the minute we walked through the doors it was such a warm and pleasant environment. Staff were so nice and friendly. To top it all off they made our stay even more magical they upgraded us to the Shannon suit and had the most beautiful display on the bed of 2 swans made from the towels and had love heart petals sprinkled around them and they also left a box of chocolates in the room for us this ment so much to us and what a thoughtful gesture from the castle oaks staff thanks so much again for everything it's a first year anniversary we will never forget we will definitely be back and will recommend ye to everybody ☺️

Very comfortable and spacious room (family room). Also the breakfast was terrific. The grounds are beautiful and there are nice walks that you can take along the river towards the village. Ample parking free of charge. The staff were super helpful and friendly and they helped me to set up a special surprise for our travelling companions.

The hotel is a little dated. Having been there many times over the last few decades, there has been little modernisation but perhaps this adds to the charm of the place.

We had booked in 18 people , from Dublin and Canada over the weekend for 2 nights for a family event. The hotel was clean and welcoming but the highlight was the service and attention to detail from Josephine and Maggie, both at dinner and breakfast which was second to none. Every single member of the family commented on the personal welcome from them. They remembered us from being there 3 years ago and are a credit to the So Hotel organisation. Be sure to tell Mr. Mc Donagh!!!

What a beautiful location! The walk along the River Shannon was amazing. The sound of the water is soothing after a long day of driving or sightseeing. The birdsong morning and evening is incredible. The hotel is comfortable the staff friendly. We arrived just before the kitchen closed, the wait staff were so accommodating. We enjoyed one of the best vegetable soups of the trip and a luscious lemon posset. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. I recommend this wonderful hotel and would stay again.

This was the 2nd hotel of our trip around Ireland and wow what a lovely find. Such a lovely greeting by Andrea on the front desk and her smiles felt very genuine. As it was my partners birthday we arrived in the room.to find a card, wine and a selection of cakes for him (thankyou so much) Josephine who served us dinner and drinks in the evening was absolutely lovely also. She made sure we had everything we needed and ensured that she checked on us all night to make sure we were OK. I wanted to take Josephine home with me :) Thankyou all so very much for an amazing stay at your beautiful hotel. The grounds were also beautiful. The room was amazing and I couldn't have wished for anything else

A fantastic hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, especially the fabulous sisters Josephine and Maggie who made our stay even more special. Lovely evening meal and a huge buffet breakfast. We stayed in the Shannon Suite which was huge with views across the grounds and a massive, comfortable bed. The swimming pool is in the leisure centre at the end of the driveway and we really appreciated free use of the facilities.
