Reception and all communication were excellent. ( very accommodating as we requested early access as it was my sons wedding and we had travelled many hours so needed somewhere to change) Staff very polite and efficient. The buffet food for the wedding party was first class, hot and plenty of it. Overall great service provided throughout.

The room had a awful drain smell when water was running, The room was very clean, but could be updated in some areas. As it was hot, we had the window slightly open but had to close later on as it sounded like people praying, and was not what we expected or wanted to hear

Checking in was efficient, we were able to leave our bags with reception, confident that they were secure. Staying as a three generation family group, the room was set up as requested.

I notified the hotel when booking that two of the party have nut/egg allergies and this was acknowledged on confirmation and said the F&B team would be notified. When we arrived at breakfast the member of staff took our room number but didn't look at the guest list sheet just told us to sit anywhere, didn't ask about any allergies. The table was clean and set up but unfortunately missing some of the cutlery. The hot food station was well stocked and appeared to offer plenty of choice although none of our party ate from here the risk of cross contamination too high as spoons, tongs had clearly been used in a mix and match fashion between the eggs and other offerings. The fresh fruit selection was excellent.

The room and whole of the hotel was very clean. The bar area was lovely and the kids loved the pool. Very handy to have a decent sizes fridge in the room and to have a separate toilet and shower. Lovely soacious room! Although the hotel had some minor bad point i would definitely stay again and it is great value for money

The pool area was very very warm. There was a lot of surface water around the pool too which could do with monitoring and the changing room/toilet had towels thrown all over the floor which again could do with monitoring. Parking was a bit of a nightmare as there was no spaces when we arrived, and only 2 disabled. We were directed to the next closest parking which was £23 for 1 night.

We enjoyed our stay however there are a few things that could do with some attention. 1) food - it was reasonably priced however some food items were out of stock. We arrived on a Friday therefore surely the hotel should have stocked up for the weekend guests? 2) our bathroom had a shower head linked to the bath. When we used this it flooded the entire bathroom. 3) a generator that was turned on or something similar to that effect was humming from around 5am in the morning. For those who are light sleepers I’m sure they’ll agree it was irritating. 4) the price of the car park was absolutely extortionate. I realise it’s in town however it will put people off from visiting the Novotel I’m sure. 5) the pillows - wow they were extremely lumpy and very hard. Not all of them however, 2 out of the 4 in our room were like that. The staff were helpful, however service was slow due to their not being enough staff on behind the bar etc. not their fault but more staff would assist in waiting times. The room was nice, was a little outdated but was clean, looked nice and for a family with a 3 year old in tow it was fine. The swimming pool was lovely and the gym area. We had to book a slot but that worked fine. The water was warm and the facilities in there were lovely. The price of the hotel was extremely reasonable and we enjoyed our stay. The above points I’ve highlighted are not deal breakers for us and we will return in the future but something for the hotel to consider. Thank you for having us and for a lovely weekend celebrating our anniversary. It was lovely break away and much needed.

Overall, this hotel was lovely and in the perfect location. Everything you needed was around the hotel, which made it the perfect place to be. The swimming and sauna facilities were amazing and warm. Good opening times too. The room service was excellent food. Lovely and clean hotel. The tv was great, nice to have smart tv

- The BEDS were so uncomfortable, was so hard. The sofa bed was awful, the springs went into our backs. None of us have a decent night sleep. Pillows were also so hard, literally couldn’t use them. - The TV volume was not loud enough, couldn’t even hear it. - Shelf’s / Headboard on the bed were coming apart from the wood, and wasn’t straight so couldn’t use them for drinks. - Kettle Station facilities, were not ideal. They were placed very high up making it hard to make drinks. Also was very close the electrical which made us a problem with the coffee machine as the water tank was at the back. Hard to reach. - We had no refills of tea, sugar etc or water. Our bins were also not changed

Staff were amazing. A special thank you to the guy working in the kitchen at breakfast who was happy to listen to my toddler chat away whilst he cleared our table and even got her another pastry. Brilliant service and we will definitely return. Great location, can easily walk to main areas, perfect for Sheffield Half Marathon which starts and finishes right outside the hotel. Didn’t try the gym or pool but they looked very nice. Car park had plenty of space.

Beds are quite hard and not the comfiest but good enough for a short stay. Breakfast was a bit pricey for what it was but very good food.

As a neurodiverse single mum with 4 children (2 also on the spectrum), I occasionally treat myself to a hotel stay just to enjoy the warm pool and steam room (or sauna at Kenwood hall). This lovely hotel is so conveniently located in the heart of town, just behind the peace gardens and next door to central library. Can't fault it really, just wish it was a bit more affordable as I'd stay every month if it was.

The price. However during my last stay I found out kids eat free, so there's a saving grace 😉

The stay was fine but we ordered room service for our breakfast they banged on the door wanted card payment for bringing it and when we uncovered it it was poor presentation and looked like it had all been chucked into the plate with a hard boiled egg in the shell shoved on top and it was freezing so we left the hotel without breakfast no hot water and the room was freezing all night … The cleaner walked in at 10am didn’t nock to ask if we was smoking when none of us was smoking … she shouldn’t be able to just walk in

The location was perfect. Short walk from the train station, city centre and uni buildings I had to attend for my course. It is in an area of the city that felt safe to walk around in even when dark. The room was large and spacious and wifi was pretty good. I only had breakfast one day which was very nice but a bit steep at £14. I stayed 3 nights and didn't expect to be given fresh towels and my bed to be made each day! Nice touch.

The room I was given had an ajoining feature with the room next door which appeared to only be locked with a flimsy bolt. I didn't like the idea that someone could have got into my room should they have tried. The wood chip wall paper is a bit dated. Wasn't keen on the toilet being separate from the bathroom and the toilet didn't flush well.

Absolutely loved our stay at the novotel Sheffield, staff was helpful and approachable. The gentleman with glasses behind the bar was really friendly and enjoyed having drinks in the bar area which was a inviting and cosy area. Love how close restaurants are to the hotel so it isn't a long walk to local amenities. Only issue with the hotel was our room wasn't the cleanest as found a plaster under the bed and a lovers quiz which was from valentines day. Which was two weeks prior to our stay. But this hasn't put us off at all will gladly stay again
