We recently returned from our second stay at Mövenpick Hotel Golden Horn Istanbul, and just like the first time, it was nothing short of amazing. In fact, they managed to exceed our already high expectations! From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel like valued guests and part of the Mövenpick family. A huge thank you to the incredible staff at the Main Desk – Alper, Ahmet, Serkan, and Selahattin – all of whom were consistently warm, helpful, and professional. Whether it was answering questions, arranging transport, or simply greeting us with a smile, they made everything seamless and stress-free. We also want to give a special shoutout to the lovely Amine & Feriha, the ever-cheerful waitress’ from the lounge area, whose kindness and friendly energy brightened every visit to the lobby. They made our experience even more enjoyable with their warm personalities and conversation. Two people who deserve an extra special thank you are Hilal from Guest Relations and Tuncay from Sales. Hilal went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect throughout our stay – her care and attention really made a difference. Tuncay, too, was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel like truly appreciated guests. The hotel itself is beautifully located with views over the Golden Horn, the rooms are immaculate and well-appointed, and the overall ambiance is a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. This was our second visit, and it absolutely won’t be our last. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right twice in a row – but Mövenpick Golden Horn has managed it effortlessly. The most memorable part of our stay was the breakfast buffet. It was wonderful. Apart from all the food, the drink selection was extremely wide and we had plenty to choose from. The eating area was nice as well, and the hotel was very lively during the morning. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and sufficient. There is a really wonderful lively park filled with people in front of the hotel.

The receptionist told us we couldn't order food to the room, but perhaps it was a communication error because we saw others do so. There is almost little to nothing next to the hotel. Other than a gas station and a small convenience store, there was a hospital and that was it. Maybe we didn't walk far enough, but looking outside a taxi while passing by, there isn't anything within walking distance near the hotel. If you're looking for a hotel with locations to walk to, this isn't for you.

A defining moment of our stay was our visit to the hotel’s signature restaurant, Arça (Eyüp – 10th Floor). While our first visit to Arça did not meet expectations, what followed was a textbook example of leadership, accountability, and world-class guest relations. Upon sharing our feedback, we received a thoughtful and sincere response from Ms. Hilal Çort, whose professionalism and emotional intelligence stood out. She not only acknowledged our concerns, but also ensured swift and transparent corrective actions, including three internal meetings and immediate improvements in service protocols. When we returned to Arça, we were warmly welcomed by Manager Mr. Ünal, whose elegance, presence, and leadership created an immediate sense of confidence and respect. The transformation we witnessed was simply extraordinary: • Service was delivered with finesse, poise, and attentiveness — reflecting fine dining etiquette of the highest international standards. • The team’s appearance and demeanor were polished, professional, and truly reflective of an elite hospitality environment. • The culinary journey was exceptional: every dish was beautifully crafted, expertly explained, and a delight to the senses — reminiscent of our finest dining experiences in Switzerland and Finland.

Great place to stay with a lovely view. Staff were great and very welcoming. The rooftop restaurant food was delicious and from the second day manager meets you as you are his personal guest and this is not the traditional istanbulian “hello my friend”

There was no toilet brush in a bathroom and when I requested it they said they principally don’t have it. Quiet weird to me The location is a bit of a compromise - you can see a nice park across the road but to get there you have to walk along a busy road and at some point you have to move from the pavement to a carriageway with a baby trolley as the whole width of the pavement is occupied by a huge rubbish container

Everything was great from the beginning. Mr. Yusuf at the reception was amazing. I'm sure all the staff are great too but he was the one handling my check in. We arrived at 9am and he arranged an early check in for us which was perfect because we had a long night of traveling. He was very professional and explained that early check in is not guaranteed but he will arrange it if the room is available and thankfully it was! We took a room with sea view and the view was amazing! I used to live in Istanbul a few years back and my place was next to the hotel so I know the area very well and it was very emotional to be back there! A lot of green spaces around the hotel and it's very calming and relaxing. There's also a tram station nearby and a bus station which connects you to the rest of Istanbul but public transportation can get very crowded so the hotel has free shuttles to Taksim and Eminonu and they can order a taxi for you if needed. The food and breakfast was great. The room was spacious and very quite. The bathroom had all amenities for sure, but really the best part is the staff, they're always available with a big smile on their faces, for me this is very important and they were all excellent in that regard. Ms. Zeynep, the guests manager, is always in close reach and she welcomes you with a message and asks to meet you in person if you have time. Really a great staff and hopefully they always keep up the good service. Overall, a great stay and would totally recommend the hotel. Just be careful with location if it's your first time in Istanbul, you're not going to be in walking distance to the major attractions, but in my opinion, the golden horn has so many beautiful attractions and history that isn't as famous as Hagia Sophia for example, but it's just as impressive. Do a little bit of research before you come and I assure you, you will love the area!

Absolutely nothing!

Great location, you could easily get to the city center using the 5th tram or even catch a boat ride (but they are rather rare) from golden horn. Really recommend to do so at least once so you could have a nice view of a golden horn from a boat. Rooms are nice, clean enough, tea and coffee in the room, free bottles of water each day. Very good breakfast and well tailored breakfast time. Soundproofing is actually not that bad - it was comfortable in the room during the night.

Very strange window between the shower and the room with a curtain covering it that is controlled from the shower. No idea why it is there. Didn't ask the hotel personnel though, but i am still curious why... No ironing facilities at the floor, you should order it via reception a bit in advance (not a big deal).

The hotel is well maintained according to international standards. Good rooms and room services. Free shuttle services to the iconic shopping and eating streets in istanbul. A huge shoutout to the amazing concierge manager- Mr. EREN BARAN. Never seen a responsible and extremely helpful concierge manager like him in any hotel. He arranged our trips and tailored it according to our convenience. He was always in touch and there for any queries we had at any time. The front desk was amazing and extremely helpful. Breakfast was good maybe if the items could be changed every few days. Arca restuarant is a must try for their speciality grills. Special thanks to all the waiters and Ms. Daisy at culinary art for her smile every morning. Mr. Fatih, at Arca restuarant for his exceptional service- a quite receptive young man and very quick service. Last but not the least, room service and cleanliess are on point. Rooms were cleaned and sheets were changed everyday. We had the sweetest man Mr. Osman who cleaned our rooms every single day and helped us with anything we needed.

The hotel could provide money exchange like many other international hotels that cater mostly to international customers. Alternatively an ATM machine could be provided. Hotel does not have any supermarkets or eateries near by or walking distance. Although metro is the cheapest mode of transport, it isnt close to the hotel. Uber is the main mode of transport and in peak hours it can be challenge to find an uber. Therefore, your day has to be planned.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mövenpick Golden Horn, and it exceeded all our expectations. We were already excited for our stay due to the photos shared when booking, however was blown away by the reality of the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service. The staff truly went above and beyond in making us feel welcome and taken care of. The room was spacious, modern, immaculately clean and equipped with all the modern amenities we could need. The bed was large and incredibly comfortable. The on-site restaurant served delicious food, with a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast buffet was superb with wonderful service and multiple options on what to eat. The restaurant on the 10th floor served authentic Turkish cuisine with a stunning panoramic view of the Golden horn in Eyüp. Location-wise, Mövenpick is perfect - central enough to easily explore the main attractions, yet tucked away enough to enjoy peace and tranquillity. Roughly around a 15 minute walk to Pierre Loti cable cars, small square with various restaurants, a tram on the opposite side of the road (with links into Eminönü where you can visit landmarks like Hagia Sofia, The Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar) Whether you’re in town for business or leisure, this hotel offers the ideal balance of comfort, luxury, and convenience. Overall our stay was nothing short of perfect and we were genuinely devastated when having to leave the hotel and its staff who genuinely went above in beyond in making our stay unforgettable. We can't wait to return to the hotel again soon and would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable experience! Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made it perfect.

We did not like that we had to leave when our holiday came to an end and wished we had booked for a longer period of time as it's one of the best hotels we have had the pleasure of visiting.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The staff were exceptional – not only were they friendly and attentive, but they also spoke excellent English, which made communication effortless. The location is another highlight; it's conveniently situated in a quiet area with a lovely view, away from the hustle and bustle. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and pleasant experience.

However, the walls were not soundproof, which was a bit disappointing. You could hear people walking, chatting in the hallway, and even phones ringing, which disrupted the otherwise peaceful ambiance.

The room service was annoying more than 4 times trying to enter the room while I was sleeping inside
