This hotel is a gem located very near the Piazza Commune and convenient to myriad shops and restaurants. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The building, like others in this part of town, is many hundreds of years old but it is solid and updated with modern conveniences. Having been adapted to current use as a hotel, the hallways are quaint, narrow and include interesting multiple turns leading to many of the rooms. It is super clean and nicely furnished with period rugs and furniture. Excellent breakfasts in a very spacious lower level breakfast space offering fresh fruits, pastries and assorted meats and cheeses. Don't expect to be dropped at the door by taxi on arrival and walking anywhere in Assisi is either up or down. The Pax is short walk downhill from Piazza Commune and a slightly longer walk to the bus/taxi stops a the Santa Chiara church. Our initial room was on the small side with a very cramped shower and barely room to walk around the queen bed. We moved at the manager's suggestion to a much larger room for the rest of our stay that offered even frescos on the ceiling. The Pax also operates an adjoining restaurant that offers excellent cuisine typical of Assisi.

Having tested the mattresses in two different rooms I would say they are on the hard side; still comfortable but a bit less 'give' than we prefer.

Located in the heart of Assisi, very close to the Church of St Maria Maggiore, where the body of new St Carlo Acutis lies. Close to a lot of restaurants and shops, Breakfast was good. Bread was excellent and even the service. Well organised. The room was very spacious. Bathroom was comfortable. The hosts at the reception, were very helpful and assisted us with all our concerns.

Slightly warm at night in October. We had to leave the window open to cool a bit the room. At times, since the window was open, it got a bit noisy. .

The property was strategically located to most sites in Assisi.

The bathroom had a lot of mold on the ceiling above the shower. I took pictures of the mold and showed them to the Front Desk in the morning. Thankfully the hotel staff did move us to another room after I brought it to their attention. However, I was a little bit surprised the hotel staff charged me an additional 10 Euros for the new room when I checked out of the hotel the following morning. Yes, the room was a little bit larger than what we originally booked, but I feel I shouldn’t have been charged for it. I didn’t request a larger room or complain and make a big deal about it; I just wanted a room with a bathroom with no black mold. Also, I feel I shouldn’t had to pay 10 Euro extra to get a room free from black mold.

My parents had the most amazing time in this hotel. The communication was amazing. Such lovely, warm and friendly staff. They went above and beyond and there were lovely touches and very generous gestures. We could not recommend this accommodation more. Room was lovely and very clean. Very handy location and beautiful place and people. So much guidance, kind help and recommendations from Grace and all the team. The restaurant recommended was the best meal we had in Italy! Thanks so very much!

The location is very good - right off the central square and close to good restaurants and many of the sites. The best part of the stay was the staff. They are amazing! They were very kind and generous, even taking special care to set out a cold breakfast for us because we had to leave very early in the morning before their normal breakfast hours. They arranged taxis, gave us great recommendations for visiting locations, made dinner reservations, and shared a lot of information about the city. They take great care of the hotel property and guests - it felt like being at home with family.

The location was great for us. The Assisi town is beautiful and in that smaller area, there is just so much to see and do. We visited in March so I imagined it would be even busier in the higher season. Our hotel was great, family run establishment and everyone was so polite, helpful and helped direct us with maps to some sights we shouldn't miss. Given the short stay, it was very good to have that piece of information. The people in the town like restaurants and shops were equally helpful and the sights were just awesome. Our needs were met and would stay at Hotel Pax should we travel back to visit.

It's a family business and the family members are involved and were very nice and friendly. They explained all the must-see in Assisi and gave great tips. The location is amazing, in the middle of the city. Breakfast was great. Good value for money.

From our room we could hear some delivery trucks arriving at 5 in the morning. It's a bit too early to be up with beeps and engines. We understand the city is small, but next time we will ask for a more quiet room.

Charming hotel! We loved our stay here. Great location in the middle of Assisi. The staff was very helpful with recommendations around the area, making a dinner reservation, luggage storage, and we also appreciated the included breakfast.

Slightly thin walls, but we travel with white noise so it wasn't a big deal for us.

Beautiful old hotel in a wonderful old building. It was very close to the main square, so we enjoyed an easy walk up the hill for dinner. Breakfast was wonderful! Loved the buffet and unlimited coffee.

You had to park well down the hill from the hotel, but that is to be expected and could not be helped in an ancient town like this. No marks against it for that, it's just the only negative thing about the place.

What beautiful , lovely & cozy hotel. We had a great stay here . The hotel is very clean and the staff is so lovely. Eduardo is very kind , helpful and profesional. We recommend this hotel to everyone! The location was fantastic!! Close to the Tomb of Carlo Acutis & Basilica of Saint Clara of Asisi
