It was in such a lovely location and the people were extremely friendly and helpful. The views were incredible and sitting out in the evening or with breakfast in the morning was such a treat. The whole place was beautifully decorated and clean. And there are a couple of lovely local restaurants nearby for dinner. It's a bit of a hike to get up there (about 20 minutes up lots of steps) but we were hiking anyway and it was on our route so was perfect, plus its worth it for the views and the feel of the place once you're there. Highly recommend the hiking trails around it as well.

The lodge is really worth the money. Fabulous place a very cozy with colourful sofas and barbecue zone in the morning when you see other table you feel like you’re in Italian family because all customers are joining you in a breakfast . My room was clean , cozy very light, bathroom is also clean and very light.

There is no road to arrive to the lodge by car or by scooter so just need to be ready to carry your luggage in your hands downstairs for about 100-150 meters.

Great place! Really nice and hospitable owner. Unique hotel. Amazing views. Very dog friendly. You have to walk down 200m to the property, but that’s part of the fun. It’s on a hiking trail that connects to Camogli (20 minute walk downhill) and a network of trails beyond San Rocco. Probably isn’t a great hotel for people who have huge roller bags! If you are an adventurous type who wants a special stay it’s perfect. The nightly rate we found very reasonable for the location and quality.

There is no AC but with the windows open we were fine in mid August.

We were amazed about the location of the house, and also our room was really nice and tidy, with a scenic view to the valley nearby. They were also flexible with our arrival. If you would like to hike to San Fruttuoso this is the right choice, but be aware that it is a 20-25 minute hike from Camogli train station, with many steps on the road. The breakfast was also good, so all in all I definitely would recommend BBQ lodge.

It was not clear to us, that the sea view (photos) is not from the garden, but from the village. But the panorama was beautiful anyway.

A Lovely Nature retreat up in the hills. You need good walking shoes for the stairs to go up and down. The Breakfast was great and well done with protein - not only sweets. The bathroom was modernized lately.

For me it was not problem to walk all the stairs, but for some it might be an issue to stay up on the hill with no car access.

Absolutely loved the location and setting, emersed in nature surrounded by olive trees. The large table and common area welcomes one to mingle with other guests. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was limited and basic, however since breakfast in Italy is not there forté I didn't really expect better.

It would have been good to know that the 1.5km walk from the train station was a very steep uphill walk. Not great lugging heavy suitcases all that way. There is a bus that takes you to the village near the top of the mountain with only a 150m walk down.

The location is perfect, right on the trail from Camogli to San Fruttuoso/Portofino. Great views, very good breakfast on the terras, and nice restaurant nearby in San Rocco. Hiking from Camogli is a lot of stairs, but worth the effort, and saves time and effort next morning while continuing your way to San Fruttuoso/Portofino. At the bakery in San Rocco you can buy lovely pastries and foccacia, also fruit, water etc. Would also be nice to return to the BBQ Lodge after the hike, but we didn't have anough time.

The views were mesmerising, hotel was rustic and charming, but the real stars of the show were Luna and Francesca, who couldn't have been any friendlier nor more helpful. The quality of Luna's cooking is first class. The most relaxing and rewarding of stays.

I loved how helpful Francesca was with suggestions on what to do in Camogli. The property is a bit of a walk uphill from town but it’s beautifully secluded in san rocco and very convenient for hikes in the national park. It was a very lovely stay and i would definitely book it again :)
