Easy to find location that is within walking distance of main train station, Catania Centrale, and the main bus/coach terminus (we travelled from Taormina to Catania by regional bus) however be aware that the pavements from the bus terminus are terrible - very hard to move wheeled luggage on! Which is no reflection on B&B Kike - we just walked on the roads like everyone else and when closer to B&B Kike the pavements improve. The warm welcome from Valeria and her infectious enthusiasm made us feel at home immediately. We had a huge room, beautiful original floor tiles, VERY comfortable bed, decent shower, impressive windows (double glazing kept any street noise out) and a quiet air-conditioning unit. Very short walk to the Duomo, Fish Market and main activities. Breakfast was overlooked by Valeria's delightful mother, Suzi, who was welcoming and lively. Good choice of meats, cheeses, jams, pastries, yoghurt and drinks. Good coffee. We had a lunch in the local bar / cafe below the B&B Kike (Bar Ventimiglia) and we can highly recommend their pasta alla Norma, caponata and grilled vegetables (we asked to share a platter of various of their dishes and it was all delicious) and followed that with macchiato and a macchiato latte (similar to a UK latte coffee but seems to come with some sugar, nice though and an almond pastry. One generous feature of the hosts were their flexibility. We checked out of our previous property in Taormina early morning which meant we arrived early into Catania and Valeria was able to check us in early. And when we checked out we were allowed to leave our luggage at the B&B as our flight back to UK wasn't until late that day. This all meant we had more time to spend relaxing and doing what tourists do, eat, drink, visit, and enjoy. Thank you, Valeria and Suzi.

We had no dislikes. There was problems with the electricity supply (external works caused fuse board to trip) but it was fixed quickly and when it happened during the night again we had been shown what to do and did it so all resolved!

The beds were extraordinarily comfortable. Room enormous & fantastic for family of 4 adults & large suitcases. Bathroom & shower also great. Susana & Valeria both lovely, warm and welcoming. Breakfast simple (continental style) but more than adequate.

The entrance is very typical for Catania, very large weathered doors off the footpath without any real signage. We were very dubious & really couldn't see where the property was, but our transfer driver was adamant it was the right spot. Luckily we'd phoned ahead as instructed & the door opened where we were waved over/greeted by Valeria.

Very nice and welcoming hosts, we would return any time for a couple of nights in this perfectly located place: close to teatro maximo, the port, and just a 20 min walk from the train station. It is so comforting to know that you are truly in very good hands with Valeria and her mom! The rooms are quaint with a shabby chic vibe and have all the amenities you need. The only small inconvenience was the smell of artificial room perfumers (I have bronchitis and an irritable throuat) but it was ok with open windows (September is still warm in Catania).

This BnB is very cozy and the room was really nice, spacious and clean. Susana and Valeria are the best! They guaranteed we had everything we needed and that we had an excellent stay. The breakfast was wonderful, and although we had to leave early for our flight, Susana made sure we had a breakfast prepared to go. Finally, the location is great, walk distance from every main point.

The host was very personable and quite helpful and responsive. The room was spacious and clean. Location excellent, just steps away from the Teatro Massimo, and in walking distance from the Central Train and Bus Stations.

Breakfast had bread, cheese, ham, jam, pastries, apples, juice, coffee, tea, water. Some more variety and boiled eggs, for example, would have made it even better.

We missed our train in Naples and arrived quite late. Valeria kindly met us and checked us into our room. She steered us to a really good restaurant (Sicilia in Boca) around the corner, where we had a great dinner after 10PM. The next morning her mom, Susie, served us a lovely breakfast. She gave us pointers on hanging laundry to avoid getting soot from Mt. Etna on them. The B&B's location is near the train station but not too far from the sites. The hosts are very gracious and friendly. We enjoyed our time here.

Amazing host and location! The owners are so sweet and helpful! It was a pleasure to have met them. The location is great. We parked the car to a secure location and only visited by foot! It is central and close to everything! Amazing restaurants and beautiful things to see around Catania! We wish we could have stayed longer! Wish you the best!

I enjoyed my stay at B&B Kike. The location was excellent, a short walk from the Bellini theatre and a host of bars and restaurants. Its also convenient getting to the waterfront in Catania and the train station. The family that own it were nice to me in our brief interactions and communicated everything I needed to know clearly in excellent English.

Nothing to dislike

Location is great! Easy walk to everything in Catania. We would even come back to the apartment to rest in early afternoon, and refreshed would go out again later in the evening. Staff is amazing! Valeria is a great communicator, easy to talk to, ask anything about the town, and Sicily for that matter, she is superbly knowledgeable, intelligent young woman. Suzanna is fabulous, so friendly and capable of making the breakfast room so comfortable, you get a feel of home. Very elaborate breakfast table with something for everyone, and great coffee too! She is also a fabulous woman with great sense of humour, very intelligent and easy to talk to just about anything! Our room was really spacious, so comfortable and clean.The whole apartment is a part of a very nice, beautiful old house, and perhaps some renovation wouldn't hurt in the future. But in all, we were very, very happy with our stay, and would probably choose B&B Kike again if we visit Catania again.

Be aware that in this quite large room with very high ceilings, there is only one window. Some might not even notice, but for me it lacked some daylight. I understand that houses (and their rooms) from that time were built with smaller, or just one window.
