I had an excellent stay in Catania and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the city. The location is perfect – right in the heart of everything, making it super easy to explore Catania on foot, whether you’re heading to the market, the historic center, or nearby cafés and restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and exactly as described – a real haven after a long day of sightseeing. I truly appreciated how quiet and well-maintained everything was, making my stay both restful and pleasant. A special mention goes to the staff, who were incredibly helpful and kind throughout my stay. They went above and beyond by allowing me to check in late at night after my delayed arrival, and they also kept my luggage after check-out so I could enjoy my last day without any hassle. That level of service really made a difference.

While my overall experience was very positive, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The bed and mattress were not of the best quality, and I didn’t find them particularly comfortable for long stays. Additionally, the bathroom, although equipped with all the essential amenities, was relatively basic in terms of style and finish – functional but not luxurious. Despite these minor drawbacks, the warmth of the service and the unbeatable location make this a solid choice for a stay in Catania. I’d definitely consider returning!

The location was really good, you could get everywhere by foot, the staff was super friendly and helpful. We had to check in late and they helped us. The room was nice, clean. The bed was super comfy, we had such a cute balcony, the AC worked really well. The breakfast, although not too big, is perfect to start your day. Had a selection of pastries, boiled eggs, cereal, juice, cheese and meat. We never left breakfast still hungry. And the coffee was really good too.

there was a weird smell from the ventilation (i think) in the bathroom, but i think its because the building is old. It wasnt that noticeable

Great location and a comfortable room. The breakfast was good and the staff there were very nice people. The bathroom is outside the room in a hall but private to you (you get a key to access it) so it was still convenient. Very clean as well.

We were a bit late to arrive due to some delays at the airport and we had let the host know that we were on our way. When we arrived we tried calling and texting to be let in. Luckily another guest happened to be entering the building and let us in.

the rooms were clean and beautiful, with high ceilings and the view from the balcony was very sweet and we could sit in the sun and look at the city. the coffeemaker was very good and there is also a possibility to create foam for the milk. we loved the area, since it’s not so touristic and still you are very close to bars, restaurants, the big market and everything. the owner was super friendly and easy going and got sweet croissants every morning. wegwill for sure come back :)

the room has loads of space and two balconies. felt safe and secure due to 3 sets of doors you need to access room and there being security cameras. private, spacious bathroom with all the facilities you need. Left completely to our devices which made the room feel like a private safe haven. very high ceiling, air con, loads of storage space. the room was even better than the pictures which is rare- I really, really enjoyed my stay. thank you!

slightly dodgy 1-3 streets you need to walk down to access property. completely not an issue though as the room was a very fair price and didn’t have any issues, even walking in a couple at night. it will be completely fine if with someone else, but if you’re a female solo traveler- might be best to keep in mind and not come home too late.

The proprety is close to the city center and has everything you need nearby. The central station is around 15 mins walking distance. Alessandro was such a helpful host, even we didn’t meet him in person, he helped us with all the info we needed. Also the breakfast was very tasty and close to the proprety.

I think the cleaning could have been done a little bit better. But in the end it was fine. Also there were some weird tubes on the ceiling, not bothering, but creating not such a comfy atmosphere. Maybe they can be hidden somehow😅

Service is very very good for its price, the stuff was so friendly, he prepares coffee and breakfast for you. The room and bathroom are very clean, we did our check-in very easily. They even had washing machine,cloth drier and proper soap. They also cleaned and tidied the room daily. For the price we paid, we are very happy.

Big and cossy room in great location in Catania. Few minutes by walk to crowdy streets :) Modern shower, big bathroom, smart TV. Refrigerator inside room, small but nice balcony. Kitchen available for everyone, you can take a water, caffe or some sweets any time :) Available iron and ironing board. Always smiling girls prepare breakfast. Not easy to communicate in English but is funny to listen how they explain things in Italian 😀 The parking on street ( quite close to apartment) You need to pay according to tariff ( nights and Sundays for free)

Nothing to complain. Maybe the doors could be more soundproof or at least refreshe. You will here every one who enter corridor, and for sure you and your neighbors will hear each other :) make your TV louder 😀 Area around apartment is dirty (unfortunately like whole Sycylii)

Very good location and walkable everywhere. Spacious room and private bathroom. Near shopping and a fabulous pizza restaurant across the street!

The air-conditioning was not working well, room was rather warm. To turn on the shower was a bit tricky (need to pull the knob outward).

Overall, our stay at B&B tra l'Etna e il mare via Oberdan was pleasant. The room's location was convenient, near Catania's center, and parking was easy to find. The spacious and clean room, though with a private bathroom outside the room, as stated in the description, provided a comfortable stay. While there was a language barrier with the staff, any misunderstandings were eventually resolved, leaving us with a satisfactory experience.
