The stay at this charming B&B in Catania was truly memorable. It's located in a beautifully preserved historic building with lovely balconies overlooking a picturesque square, just a short walk from the city center. The apartment is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, with daily cleaning and complimentary coffee and tea provided. Luciano, the host, is incredibly kind and helpful—he gave great tips on what to see and do, along with some local insights. Breakfast is available on-site, and there are plenty of excellent restaurants and bakeries nearby. One of my favorite moments was enjoying a coffee on the balcony in the morning or a glass of prosecco in the evening—absolutely priceless. Highly recommended for a comfortable and authentic stay in Catania.

Located close to the centre of Catania, the guest house is on the first floor of a grand old building. The room was large, with wonderful high ceilings, the bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Complimentary tea and coffee was also present in the room. Luciano was a great host who was at hand to answer any questions. We also availed of breakfast one of the mornings due to an early trip to Mount Etna which Luciano arranged without any problems. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful, too much for two people in fact! We were also able to keep store our luggage after check out. A wonderful place to stay, and the only place I’d stay in Catania. Thanks Luciano!

I had a wonderful stay at Umberto 134 and would absolutely return. The location is perfect — central yet calm, making it easy to explore Catania while still having a peaceful place to come back to. The room was fresh, beautifully clean, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made it feel welcoming and restful. The building itself is stunning — full of character, with that classic Sicilian charm and elegance. The staff were kind, attentive, and helpful, and even when I accidentally left something behind, they reached out immediately and kept it safe for me. That kind of care made a big difference. Overall, everything felt smooth, grounded, and easy. If you’re visiting Catania and want a lovely, well-located, and well-run place to stay, I highly recommend Umberto 134. A gem.

Nice room with comfortable bed and pillows. Clean, and tastefully decorated. The owner, Luciano, was very helpful and answered all of my questions re how to get to airport easily eetc. Location is good too. Easy to walk everywhere and close to the stop for the airport bus. The only thing I would say was an 'issue' was the fact that the windows of the room face onto a parking lot and busy area. While I didn't find this too bad in general in terms of noise, I did find the 4:30 am (!) street cleaning truck that circles the parking lot several times and the leaf blower used to round up garbage (also at 4:30am) very annoying. I don't know how often this takes place.. Otherwise a great stay!

Our room at B&B Umberto 134 was much better than expected. It was huge with high ceilings and two small balconies. It is in a busy part of town but once you close the windows and shades, it is surprisingly quiet! We did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on it but they do offer breakfast for an additional cost. They have parking on the street which was hard to find but they also have a private parking area for a small additional fee which was totally worth it. We would definitely recommend B&B Umberto 134!

Location is easily accessible with a car and by foot from city center. We had no problems finding a parking space next to the hotel. The hotel provides a private parking space as well but we didn't have to use it, street parking was quite adequate for us. Lastly, breakfast was very good, compared to Italian standards the selection was huge with cheese & ham options.

Nothing major but the street noise (cars and people) tend to come into the room. This didn't prevent our 3 yo from sleeping through the night so not a big deal for us. The hotel provides earplugs for this nonetheless.

Location of the accomodation was very central and it was easy to walk to major sights. There were a lot of lovely restaurants nearby and it was easy to navigate out of the town for day trips. The building and our room were lovely and we enjoyed the little balcony in the room. Breakfast was good and had savory and sweet options, a good start for the day. Our host was very attentive and gave us helpful advice re restaurants etc. To avoid stress about parking we got the private parking space provided (there was a little charge for it) and it was great to not to need to spend time going around and trying to find a space for the car.

The ventilation in bathroom was not great but we left the door open when we left gor the day and it was ok.

Its location and Luciano was very helpful in directing us to possible sights.

More, about knowing that access to the property is through a huge door-as it used to be a castle. One friendly tenant helped us to find the little elevator and Luciano then let us know there was a buzzer outside. Because it was a new experience, didn’t know to look for it. The rooms are new and modern, good bathroom facilities. The mattress could be a little firmer. The general advertising on website show that there is breakfast. Check your details when booking. Walked to many sites, the Bellini gardens are just down the way. Turn the corner from there and it is a promenade with many restaurants and shopping, churches and the market.

The BnB was on a very central street, easily walkable to the centre, restaurants and train station. The host was amazing, very generous with his hospitality, friendly and happy to provide recommendations on where to visit. The breakfast was very good, nice coffee, fresh bread with meat and cheese, pastries and juice. The room was bright and spacious, the bathroom very clean and beds comfortable. Aircon and fridge were very welcome as it was warm during our stay. The corner room with balcony looked out on to a small square. It was not noisy.

Additionally, their thoughtfulness extended to complimentary water bottles replenished daily. Moreover, we were treated to a delightful breakfast spread, adding to the overall enjoyable experience of our stay. Very recommended. I will definitely come back.
