The place is owned by a sweet couple. I booked the top floor, there are no stairs but Paolo was very kind to bring my luggage up. The place is very accessible both by bus or taxi. You could even just walk from the station if you have no luggage. Very very good location. The market is right at the entrance where you can buy some fruits and other basic needs. Just a few minutes walk to the walking street and Plaza Duomo, you will pass the other landmarks on the way. They are very kind to prepare breakfast so early as I needed to leave before 8am. They also allowed me to store my luggage on my last day. Overall, a very, very good stay. Will definitely book them again the next time I go to Catania.

The hosts were very very kind. Paolo and his mom did everything 10 out of 10. We thank Paolo for all the advice he gave us, very useful, and his mother for the very good breakfast, which she prepared with care and elegance. And last but not least Valentina, the one who waited for us when we arrived. The apartment is very nice, clean, in a historic building, a few minutes from the historic center and a few minutes from a paid parking. We had a great time!

We were in the heart of the city. Very easy to navigate around after we arrived. Fantastic restaurants and lots of shopping. The daily market is right outside the door! Giulia (Julia) was a great Host! She was always determined to make our stay pleasant. Later in the afternoons, the local shops and restaurants opened. There is easy access to a bunch of great places to see.

We arrived in the middle of a downpour at the end of the market day. Since it was the first time for rain in months, it was chaotic and there was a big mess around the area. With patience from our cab driver and a local hotel, me got to our destination. The following days were great!

I've travelled alone for the first time and I was received so kindly by Valentina that I felt safe and good immediately. The B&B is very well placed in the center, everything is reachable by foot and the bus station to visit other cities is very close as well. As other reviews mentioned, it is quite loud by night, but that's normal when you stay in the center I guess. All in all I would recommend this place. The breakfast is very good and nicely prepared.

Check in: Easy, personalized, smooth. Our host, Paolo, received us warmly! Room: I loved the decoration, classic, tasteful, high ceilings, lots of space, big windows with two small balconies, comfortable beds (they even prepared a cozy baby bed for my daughter!) I loved waking up in the morning to the site of the market in the street right outside out room. GREAT location. Breakfast: Perfect. Sweet and savory options; a coffee machine, in a sunny setting.

I recommend that the host propose ear plugs since the street was really loud during the night (not his fault and nothing he can control) But this idea would help offer a better nights sleep in such a lovely setting.

The hosts are amazing! Paolo was very helpful, helped us with everything and gave us lots of recommendations. Our apartment was very stylish, perfect Italian style, with lots of interesting antique furniture, it had two rooms with two balconies. The hall for breakfast was amazing, with balcony and market view. The atmosphere is special. Good location, 5-10 minutes to all the major and architectural sights, street with bars and shops, bus station. We loved it and would definitely come back!!! Grazie mille!

Gorgeous apartment in a beautiful building - just around the corner from the main tourist road but this area felt ‘real’. Lively market every morning right outside the property in the surrounding streets. Delightful hosts, great breakfast, loved it. Hosts were very informative. Superb bus link from the airport to a couple of minutes walk from the apartment

Nothing to dislike

I liked the old style of the architecture, it was quintessentially Italian. The rooms were large and the air conditioning was essential and worked really well.

The 4 flights of stairs to the room were challenging after a day of walking around Catania in the extreme heat, and there was damage to some of the old beautiful marble and some of the floor tiles in the rooms.

The experience was way beyond my expectations! Super well located, easy to arrive at any time, when you enter the first thing you notice is the smell of comfort and care. Excellent room, comfortable, very clean! Great breakfast with good variety. The plus was the staff: Julia was the highlight from start to finish: kind, careful, always with a smile on her face, sharing great places to visit, to eat, excellent beaches and important facts for those who want to know more about Sicily.

The hosts, Paolo & Alessandra. They were warm, friendly and accommodating, and did everything they could to make my stay comfortable and convenient. The home is a clean comfortable historic home centrally located in Catania, within a block of supermarkets, restaurants and transportation. For those interested in the open market, look out your window, it is right there!
