Right in the heart of Cortina d'Ampezzo overlooking Piazza Roma, the hotel is gorgeous and cosy. Our room was very spacious with a view of the Piazza. The hotel staff were always friendly and warm. The hotel is very clean and room cleaned daily.

Whilst breakfast was fresh and delicious, we would have liked some more choice for the warm selection.

The location is excellent. Only 20 meters from the hotel from Piazza Roma every 30 minutes ski bus will take you to the 3 beautiful ski areas: Tofana, Faloria and Pocol. The hotel is located in the heart of Cortina A'ampezzo, surrounding with very nice restaurants that offer a variety of local food at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good and the room is very, very clean. Every morning, they changed our bath towels and pillow cases and emptied the trush along sweeping the floor. We stayed 7 nights, it was our third time visiting the hotel and we'll definitely come back. The owner, Nicola, is a great person and professional hotelier.

amazing location in centre of cortina - everything is only a few minutes away. helpful staff, decent breakfast with plenty of options; wifi worked well

my windows didn't have any curtains, just a very light blind - which allowed light into the room. I also couldn't get thermostat/heating to work despite best efforts - although room temperature was generally comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is in a perfect location—right in the center, on the main street, with everything close by. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was upgraded to a duplex, which was a lovely surprise, and we had a fantastic view. Everything was very clean and well-maintained. There was also a great restaurant just next door on the right, where we ended up going every day. Honestly, the hotel was even better than it looked in the pictures. I’m very, very happy with our stay and would definitely come back!

The Royal is a wonderful small hotel; very central, cosy, minutes walk to cafes and restaurants. Very good breakfast and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The bus or coach drops you 2 mins from the hotel on arrival. A wonderful place with a wonderful cafe below in the sun! 2-5 mins walk from bus stops for free rides to and from ski lifts.

Rooms were fine , breakfast room is small and gets busy, no bar at hotel has a small downstairs area, but plenty in town and next doors. Boot room is small. Bus close by for skiing although fairly small shuttle. Direct coach from Venice airport which stops further from main centre where the church and hotel is. Not sure why? Good location for shops and restaurants in town all close and easy walk.

Breakfast room and boot room.

The quad room worked out very well for our family of 4. The bathroom looked redone and was very nice. Breakfast was good, but the breakfast room was far too small for the number of guests there. Be there early if you want a table in the breakfast room. They also can make you a packed lunch with a sandwich and fruit if you tell them you need it the day before. This worked out well for us as we left for hiking trips before breakfast started at 7:30.

The hotel entrance is on the side of the building not the front which is shown in most of the pictures. It’s fine, just took me a while to find it at checkin. Needs another area for breakfast seating.

The hotel staff is my highlight. They are such nice and friendly people. I could see they care about the hotel like their own house. We were lucky to get an upgrade, and the room was breathtaking. It has impeccable decoration and is super clean. The mattress and pillows are super comfy and make you sleep so well. The room lights are also designed to keep the ambience so cosy. The location is probably one of the best you can find, with easy access to a variety of restaurants, you're in the middle of the city and have taxis and buses with less than a minute walk. I definitely would choose to stay in this hotel again.

Nothing is perfect, but it doesn't mean this affects our great experience. I expected a bit more of the breakfast - it's super basic and does the job, but there are not so many options, and the breakfast room is super small (leading to queues if more people decide to go down at the same time). Although our room was possibly the newest in the hotel, the heater was not keeping the room warm (the average temp was 19 inside the room). Not sure if maybe is because the room was on the top floor and harder to heat. They kept at least four blankets in the wardrobe which saved us. The shower pressure wasn't the best, but the water was super hot :)

The location is excellent - great proximity to restaurants, shops, and public parking (15 euro/day). Our room was quaint, clean, and perfect for our stay in Cortina. The staff were very friendly and the included breakfast was really convenient.

As mentioned by others, the breakfast room can feel a bit crammed (especially noticed right at opening time) but honestly, it wasn’t a problem! The food was good!

The friendly staff, the cleanliness, the breakfast, the location. It felt extremely cozy and soft and welcoming. The rooms were perfectly isolated so you could hear no noise. Everyone was friendly! I was with my family for the Lavaredo Ultra Trail race and it was an unforgettable experience. High recommended. There's so many things to do!

Parking can be a problem but it was to be expected: there was construction for the upcoming Winter Olympics and the Lavaredo Ultra Trail - and parking spaces were limited. But we managed to find free parking so it was all good.
