We loved everything about our visit to Florence…and Hotel Annalena was the perfect place for us all to stay. Our rooms were warm, inviting and extremely comfortable and we all had rooms with views of the gardens. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They provided a great service which included recommendations on restaurants, reserving taxis and holding our cases on our last day, to enable us to explore the beautiful gardens of Florence, which are accessible from the doorstep of the hotel. We will most definitely be back!

You cannot fault this hotel. It has steps to reception…but staff willingly offer to help carry bags. It has an old heating system and the pipes do rattle…but then it is an old Florentine building so what else would you expect? It offers a unique experience to stay in an authentic Florentine residence which is superbly situated for all that Florence has to offer.

The room was quite spacious and the beds were very comfy. The antique interior is very beautiful and reminiscient of the hotel's history. I also liked that there was a fridge, kettle and a few teabags as well as a pretty strong hairdryer. The terrace itself was also wonderful and offered us a view of the gardens.

I would've liked if there were a few more tea varieties. Also, we didn't receive any additional teabags after room service. I thinkt hat's something the hotel can improve without too much cost. There was also an issue with heat insulation, because the doors to the terrace were difficult to lock. (For context, we visited in February)

The property is beautiful, so are the staff they are incredibly helpful, but just remember if you’re older and have lots of luggage there are lots of stairs, no elevator I must put that out there because I choose when I travel to always find a place with an elevator, but the help was there for me when I needed it they carried my bags up the stairs and down. The staff are amazing. The breakfast is simple, sweet and the coffee is delicious. My room was beautiful and big. I had a suite with a balcony Caroline Bonaparte stayed in my room from what I was told so much history in this place. You will love it. it was a palace from my understanding there are books there, and lots of information on the history of the building, A very short walk to the pond to Vecchio and passed the Palace beautiful gardens across the street. You will love this place and the wonderful people who work here.❤️❤️❤️

There’s not anything really that I didn’t like possibly the furniture could use a little love and attention sanding down restraining polishing but then again I refinish furniture back in Canada as a hobby so that’s only my personal experience. In the winter, they could use some rugs on the floor by the beds or in the centre of the bathroom so your feet don’t get cold other than that the place was wonderful.

It is a beautiful, old UNESCO building, with interesting history and preserved, present-day charm. Across from Boboli Gardens, it is a short, pleasant walk to the Ponte Vecchio and lots of other sites, in a quiet yet active neighborhood peppered with cozy restaurants and shops of artsy and vintage nature. The staff were very warm and accommodating, going above and beyond standard expectations. My room had some beautiful, traditional painted furniture. Ermal kindly offered me a quick peek into another room which overlooks the courtyard. It occurred to me how nice it could be to have a tour of the whole building. It was so nice to be able to read about the history from the info packet in my room (and/or in the lobby; I forget)…Many thanks to Ilda, Dica and Egli as well for their lovely hospitality, recommendations and chats, which made a brief stay on this historical property all the more memorable.

This is a perfect property for the tourist who cares for history and wants to be in a central location, which is at once, off the beaten path, surrounded by all conveniences (grocery store, laundromat, excellent restaurants). Not all rooms have a view, but mine had and it was awesome. Let me put it this way: your neighbor is Duca Cosimo I. The staff is friendly the (not included but affordable) breakfast is great, hot showers, and the price was fair! Do not expect luxury and glamour, but if you want to be part of the real Florence, with all it’s historical treasures and grit, this is your place!

Just the mattresses, which are a bit outdated, but really, totally ok.

The hotel is located in a part of a palazzo in the Santo Spirito area. It is full of character and vey comfortable. It is opposite the Bobboli Gardens. The room was a standard double room but very spacious - much more than any standard double room I have experienced before. The weather in Florence was bitterly cold but the hotel was lovely and warm. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We didn't eat breakfast but understand that there was a wide choice of food. It is in reasonable walking distance of the centre of Florence but there is a regular bus service that goes into the centre if you don't feel like walking. There are a number of excellent restaurants and osterias in the area for dinner. We plan to make it our regular hotel on future visits to Florence.

Had a fantastic couple nights here in a very comfortable single room with really nice ensuite. It was much nicer than the photos pictured it to be too and the hotel had such a nice, historic feel to it. A spacious, light and bright room, a huge balcony overlooking trees and garden, a comfortable bed and super toasty warm heating! The staff were all fantastic, super friendly and helpful! I was travelling by bicycle and they were happy for me to keep it safe in the room so I could explore Firenze on foot. Also the stairs up to the hotel are super wide and easy to carry a bike up. Highly recommend Annalena, thanks again guys!

It was a comfortable distance from the centre of town and the room was beautiful, clean and had an amazing view of the garden. The concierges are very friendly, polite and helpful and take excellent care of the hotel and the guests, providing very reasonable tour packages and taxi services around the city and the wider region. The building is a piece of history and I enjoyed learning about it from the staff. I felt safe and comfortable and very much at home.

If I had to pick one thing that I found challenging, the shower was a little awkward with the height of the hand-held rest being low and the glass partition being only half as long as the tub. Maybe consider installing a sheer curtain along the whole tub so water doesn't spray out and soak the floor.

I had breakfast, but it wasn’t very good. There wasn’t much variety, and it was just okay overall. Not bad, but could be improved. The location is perfect—everything is accessible by walking. The train station is about 20-25 minutes on foot, and major attractions like Boboli Gardens, the Duomo, and Piazza della Repubblica are just 10-15 minutes away. Very convenient for exploring Florence!

I found the room to be quite cold, especially during the winter. Even though there was a heater, it didn’t seem to be enough, and I felt cold at night. It would be great if the heating system could be improved for colder seasons.

Annalena is definately an unique place to stay. Located in an historical building in a lovely neighborhood, you feel like residenting in a little castle 500 years ago. Every room is different and equiped with historical furnitures. The staff is super friendly, flexible and does everything to make you feel comfortable. The breakfast is very nice and for a good price and all in all I felt very cosy and at home. The main hall, where you check in and where the breakfast is, has a magical spirit and you can feel that the staff is interested in every single guest and that made me feel at home and very safe.
