The accommodation was exceptionally clean. As it was a shared bathroom this can sometimes be off putting but no need at all. It was large, clean and easy access. Room was a good size and just across from the bathroom. The apartment was on the first floor with easy steps or a lift. Few mins walk from the main train station was perfect on arrival and was about 15/20 mins to the Duomo but an easy flat walk. Would definitely return to this accommodation again

If walking back late at night you do have to pass the train station which has a lot of men/youths gathering on the steps. As two females we found it a little intimidating but not unsafe.. We just used the T2 tram for 2 stops to pass and it was absolutely fine as then just round the corner to the hotel.

The host is incredibly gracious and she makes sure her guests feel welcome. Bathrooms are clean, the breakfast is perfect, and the room was fantastic. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space. The location is excellent too; very close to downtown and right next to the train station, but not so close to either you'll be bombarded with noise. It's extraordinarily quiet in that regard and that's exactly what I look for when I'm on vacation. Excellent place for you and a partner to stay while you roam the city.

There's not much bad to say here. The only thing I'd say is walls between rooms are pretty thin so you'll want to keep noise to a minimum, but it's a small price to pay for an otherwise fantastic spot.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Melody House, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The host was incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful. Despite a language barrier, communication was smooth, and she made a great effort to make us feel welcome. The room exceeded my expectations in size, cleanliness, and comfort, with daily housekeeping ensuring it remained in excellent condition. There was a table in the room with a kettle and a variety of teas, along with a delightful cookie to welcome us. The bathroom was spacious and well-maintained, with clean towels provided daily. The location was very convenient, being close to Santa Maria Novella station and major tourist attractions in Florence.

The only minor issue was that there were no bakeries, restaurants, or markets in very close proximity. However, this was not a major inconvenience and didn’t detract from our overall experience.

The staff were friendly, kind and helpful, even with a language barrier—which we overcame with hand gestures and laughter. They made a point to make us feel welcome, and helped us navigate getting a car at the ridiculously early hour we needed to leave. The room was much larger than I expected—which was nice—clean and comfortable, if very basic.

I was surprised that our bathroom wasn’t en-suite, and didn’t understand that it was exclusively ours until halfway through our stay. The staff didn’t really explain that on our arrival. The floor of the rooms are not carpeted and didn’t have rugs, so it felt a little like we were in bedroom-decorated classrooms—but the room size was generous, as previously mentioned so that was a compensation.

very clean and spacious. Close to the train station but quiet. Be aware that the check in time closes earlier than most accommodations. I've reserved to arrive between 5 and 6 pm and received a message that the latest is 5pm. As our train arrived just after 5pm, the receptionist had to wait for our arrival. There was very little encounter because of our late arrival.

Nothing really. Just for information... After the receptionist gave us istructions she left. Before we had time to close the door another guest ran in to ask if we were the staff - the hotel probably needs to set up a better communication system if it is only staffed at certain hours of the day. Looks like there is a kitchen but we never saw it open so no chance to boil water and make a cup of tea.

The room was extremely nice, with soft furnishings/bedding and good air conditioning. In theory I had to share a bathroom, but in practice I could easily access it whenever I wanted. Facilities were all clean and the shower was excellent once I figured out how to use it! The area is quite quiet, although you are close to a main road and the traffic can be loud on occasion. Still, I had no trouble sleeping. While I was there, staff were offering a paid breakfast service, but unfortunately I did not use it as I needed to be out of the room early every day. Still, it's an advance on what they were advertising at the time I booked my stay. I didn't see much of the staff after the first day but they were always extremely polite, and the owner went out of her way to help me check in after a misunderstanding (see below). On the whole this was a really wonderful place to stay, and especially for the price I thoroughly recommend it!

While the owner was very communicative we did have a misunderstanding (mostly my fault) due to her level of English-language skills, where they thought that I was checking in much later than I was. The owner was very sweet about getting there after hours as quickly as she could, however, and was able to accommodate my checking out very early in the morning on the last day of my stay. All I would say is that you should try to use clear, simple language in communications to avoid confusion, if you can't write in Italian.

Melody House is an old time pension, of the kind that once existed all over Italy. It's nothing fancy, but clean, with a nice sized room and bathroom. The hosts are friendly and kind. There's a lift, and the place is a 15- minute walk from the train station.

The place was fine but there are no coffee bars around at which to grab a quick breakfast. The closest one is a rip-off with really bad food.

the check-in could only take place between 12 and 4pm! It was the first time I saw that. I tried to arrange a late check-in and it was not possible. They did not answer my emails and messages until the day of the check-in, so I had to buy new tickets to get there in time, as it was a non-refundable booking. It was very stressful and disappointed.

Teresa was great, although I would advise if you haven't had contact from them to give them a call. Our room was really big and comfy. We originally arranged a double room with shared bathroom but when we arrived Teresa upgraded us to a double room with private bathroom for no additional charge. Teresa was extremely accommodating and allowed us to leave our bags after check out. Melody House is really good value for the price considering how expensive Florence is.

Rooms are clean and the hotel is very close to the train station. The owner accommodated our check in time and came back especially for us. The bed was confortable and the room spacious.

The furniture and the establishment in general is a bit worn out. So don’t expect it to be cozy. The rooms were noisy, the windows give on a very busy street with sounds of helicopters.
