The location was perfect, so close to the central station and public transportation. The space in the room was sufficient. I liked the amenities they offered at the room, I am still taking the slippers they gave while staying at other hotels. The breakfast was good with a variety of savory and sweet options. The staff was welcoming. I'd consider staying here if I visit Milan again. The location looked safe.

The bed was a bit hard for me, I didn't find it very comfortable. The elevator was broken on one evening I was staying there and it was exhausting to take the stairs as my room was located on the fourth floor but it was fixed next morning. There is no luggage room, the luggages are kept around the reception, it didn't feel so safe yet there weren't any problems.

The hotel is located in close proximity to Milano Central Station, with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops around. The room is large, and has almost everything necessary. We had a room at the ground floor and it was shady and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very kind! Thank you. Grazie!

Two comments - the ergonomic mattress is placed on a bed frame covered in textile material, the mattress slips and you can fall off the bed, especially if you are heavier (like us :-) ; - there are electricity sockets, but if you want to charge the phone, you need to remove a lamp. A multi socket would be of help for all the telephones, tablets and other devices carried by the modern traveler.

Breakfast above expectations really good choice and service excellent. Location perfect to access station and metro but room was let down by a most uncomfortable bed and glad to get to a “Premier Inn” back in England. Barely slept my last night. Shame as everything else was perfect and staff very helpful

As above the bed and I had booked a lot of visits on line n and most were not marked on the full tourist map even staff did not know directions so I missed several visits booked and was exhausted trying to find museums/galleries and never found the canal area

The location of the hotel is excellent – right next to the train station, yet tucked away on a small side street. If your windows face the street and you leave them open, it can be quite noisy -take with you ear plugs. As is common in big cities, the hotel is small and a bit worn, but overall well-maintained and clean. The staff were kind and helpful. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable, the linens were clean, and everything in the bathroom worked properly. Of course, there are signs of wear and tear, and although the hotel is rated four stars, one shouldn’t expect the full comfort typically associated with that rating. But it’s perfect if you’re in the city for work and need a safe, clean, and comfortable place to sleep. Breakfast was also more than sufficient – not to be compared to large luxury hotels, but the selection was decent, fresh, and included fruit. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Hotel was very accommodative. Allowed me to leave my luggage for the night that I went to Como even though I have yet to check-in. Then the next day, when we arrived at the hotel to check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to be informed that our luggage have been sent to our room already. Also worth mentioning is the front desk staff on duty on the day before our check-in (the day we dropped off our luggage). We had some problems trying to launch our transport app on our phones as our train tickets from Milan Central to Varenna are all online. The staff was very kind and helpful and let me use the hotel's Macbook (for Biz clients) to log in and print the tickets. Breakfast was also great. A nice small garden near the breakfast area. Overall, happy with the stay. Location is also quite convenient and near to Milan Central Station.

Room size a bit small and odd shape. Limited amenities in the room. But expected for most mid-range hotels in Europe.

I was using Hotel Columbia as a stopover on a train journey down to Naples, getting in late evening, and leaving first thing the next morning. The location was ideal, very close to Milano Centrale. As requested, the Hotel gave me a room at the back, which was very peaceful in spite of the central location. I slept very well. The simple single room had everything I needed, and was immaculately clean. Good strong shower. Lovely friendly staff. As a woman travelling alone, I felt welcome and secure, which is important to me. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you

Room: Faced into courtyard, so was very quiet with blackout shutters. Very comfortable beds. Shower had plentiful hot water and pressure. Shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, shower cap, shoe shine, soap provided. Temperature control in your room, so could set it how we liked, but didn't notice if it was air con. Fridge, kettle, TV & hairdryer in room. Lift To all floors. Guest computer & printer in reception to print out boarding passes etc, if required. Breakfast: Very good (fresh prepared fruit/salad, yoghurts, breads, croissants, eggs (boiled & scrambled), cold meats, cheeses, cakes, excellent coffee). Location: Very near tram station into Milan centre. Lots of local places to eat too. Close to Central railway station & where airport busses drop off. Safe area at night for 2 female travellers. Hotel stored our bags on our last day.

The hotel doesn’t look much from the outside but it feels totally different as you walk up the red carpet and into a modern hallway. The staff dress traditionally and it feels like stepping into a hotel of quality. Although the rooms have modern card access, the hanging keys and the room pigeon holes behind the desk add to a feeling of ‘the way it was’ and the staff treat their guests with respect and are friendly and helpful. The room was clean and contained all that we needed for our stay. There was an electric blind at the window to allow you to allow in the amount of sun and light you chose. There was also a mini fridge in the room containing bottles of water. These were chargeable but you could put your own water, or wine, in the fridge. The bathroom was a good size although the shower area was not big. The power of the shower was excellent. Our room was at the front of the hotel and you could hear noise outside during the night. It was okay for us but might bother others. With the blind open we could also see the neon hotel sign but with the blind shut it wasn’t an issue. The hotel has a nice bar area and a pretty courtyard garden which we used as we found the evenings were warm. The breakfast was continental buffet style and was very good. The location of the hotel was particularly good for a flight in from Bergamo airport and had easy access to transport to all areas. The public transport runs until early hours of the morning and It felt safe outside at night. Obviously you need to be sensible, but as a mum and daughter away together this was a big factor. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come again.

Only a small thing. The room was advertised as having air con but it wasn’t on. We asked for it on the first night but was told that other guests wanted the heating on and they couldn’t have both on. It was uncomfortably warm for us on our first night. We asked for a fan the next night and I think they turned the air con on as the unit on the wall started to blow out cooler air. However, it didn’t get very cool but it did make the room temperature bearable. This did not spoil our stay.

The hotel is 5 min walk from the train station. It is off the main road where there are plenty of buses and trams. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is very clean. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was superb. Nothing is a problem. Good recommendations for restaurants and directions. The bathroom has nice hot water with plenty of towels. There is a kettle and fridge in the room. For a tea drinker that is great. I loved that I could open the window for fresh air. Probably my favourite hotel out of 4 that I stayed at this trip.

It was all good. Gym is in the basement and WIFI kept dropping out.

It was a joy to spend a week at Hotel Colombia. A long established family runs the hotel with friendliness and attention to every detail. They care deeply about design which has resulted in an elegant, modern atmosphere filled with inspiring art. The nearby metro and tram make it easy to get anywhere in the city. The rooms (perfectly ironed sheets!) are celevery designed and include a long desk that has two chairs. Breakfast is sumptuous, filled with cakes, breads, many fresh fruits, cheeses ( you slice your own!!) and individually made espresso or cappucchino. We took advantage of the gorgeous garden to eat there every morning. This hotel is unusually wonderful and I can't recommend it enough.
