- Location. It was a stone’s throw away from Milan Central station and we could get wee hours train rides to other parts of Italy! May suggest to get this accommodation as your base stay for Italy. Relatively easy to go from the station to the accommodation. Less than 30 mins to city central. - Our host, Mr Fabrizio (pardon if I misspelled his name) was welcoming and hospitable! He was engagingly informative while introducing us to the place. It was such a warm welcome to Italy after facing an almost pickpocket experience at the airport. - Spacious place - Adequate amenities and facilities. Didn’t expect the complimentary snacks and world charger adapter! May I suggest to remove the TV in the bedroom so we can use the mirror as dressing table😅 - Comfortable pillows and bed - Smooth check-in and check-out process - The lift!

It may just be us but there was some odd smell from the room. Not a bad thing as perhaps we’re just sensitive. May be nice to have room air refresher. Otherwise, this accommodation is highly recommended! We would love to stay again if we visit Italy.

We had an issue with Maps upon leaving the train station for the first time but once we found Residence De La Gare it was so convenient to the train station, the Metro, and our Viator tour to Como meeting point. They have an early check-in which was perfect for our arrival time. Upon check-in we asked to have the beds separated which was done by the time we returned from our afternoon tour of the Duomo. The apartment was very spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable!. There was a full size refrigerator in the kitchenette for those who need it. As in many older units in Europe it was a pretty steep step to get into the bathtub for showering but manageable. The gentleman in charge was very friendly and helpful. He stored our luggage after check-out so we could do a Viator tour to The Last Supper the morning of our departure to Venice. Our stay at Residence de la Gare made our 2 night stay in Milan very enjoyable. The price was reasonable and the location was perfect.

I prefer walk-in showers but tub was manageable.

Very friendly staff and the accommodation is very well located right next to the central station, which is very convenient upon arrival and departure. The flat was spacious, nicely furnished and the beds comfortable. The space is also equipped with many utensils for your stay.

Keep in mind that the residence is located right next to a very busy road and, unfortunately, we could not sleep well because of the noise. Even the side that was facing the courtyard was extremely loud due to construction works, people throwing garbage throughout the night and street noises. Also, there is no cleaning service on the weekend and the reception works also at limited capacity, which was ok for us but should be kept in mind.

Staff was exceptionally good. They were very easy to contact even late at night. We had to change the arrival time a couple of times and they were very understanding and helped us to park our car and check in easily. The manager even called us once when our dog was barking inside when we were out, to make sure he was ok. The room was very clean. And also, the location was really close to the tram line.

The neighborhood was not that good. There were a lot of construction going on in the area and there were some people hanging out in the streets at night (although we never felt unsafe). I assume it's the same with any accommodation at the center of Milan, so not an issue particular about this property. There was no view from the apartment (although we never stayed in) and no supermarket nearby. There's a public parking area right next to the location. But it can get full sometimes. So best to make sure you think of alternatives. (I think the property offers parking and there's a paid garage near too)

Well-managed period building within easy walking distance of Milan Centrale station. Staff were very friendly - Maurizio went out of his way to settle us in and show us around. The apartment was spacious and well-equipped with lovely high ceilings. The interior a mix of 'old Milan' with comfortable modern furnishings. The building features a lovely ornate old elevator. The bedroom had a TV and fitted wardrobes with plenty of hangers (a rarity these days). We slept really well in the large, comfortable bed. Outside noise was minimal considering the city location. The air conditioning was excellent and it was always a pleasure to get back and relax after a busy day in a boiling hot city! We also appreciated the thoughtful touches such as city and transport maps, toiletries and breakfast essentials provided on arrival. There is a bakery and mini market conveniently located nearby for other essentials. Transportwise the location was ideal. Centrale is a convenient hub for trams, trains and metro lines serving every corner of the city. There is also an M2 metro stop around the corner from the apartment. When ready to fly home, the airport shuttle bus was just a 5 minute walk away.

Everything perfect!

The location is excellent if you intend using the Metro regularly or are using Milan as a base for other travel. We had excellent communication from all of the staff we encountered (Fabrizio was brilliant) which made the check in so easy. The apartment was spacious, modern and clean with a bath (!!) and a fabulous big shower with great water pressure and heaps of hot water. The electric shutters kept it dark for those of us adjusting to the new timezone. There's a great food market at Il Mercato Centrale (the opposite side of the station to the Residence) which we discovered on our second day (we totally missed it when we got dropped off by the Malpensa Shuttle) and I'd say that's the best food and drink options locally.

A few small things would've made this a 10/10 ... we missed having a toaster, and laundry facilities would've been handy. Our main issue was the location. Great for train access, but when we got out and about and discovered Navigli, the areas around Duomo and other places in Milan, we realised this is a pretty soulless part of Milan. I'd say fabulous for sleeping and using as a base, but no decent restaurants or shopping or activity. BUT to be fair, we were staying one block from the main train station, so we should be realistic about what to expect.

Great location just 10 minutes level walk from the station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shops and groceries nearby. Easy train ride to the centre to visit the Duomo, Galleria and other attractions. Free use of laundry in basement a bonus. Apartment on first floor is lovely, clean and spacious, has blockout shutters and faces a quiet internal courtyard

The lack of kitchen equipment. No toaster so had to toast bread in a frying pan. Teeny lift but we still managed to fit 2 of us with luggage. The lovely lady at reception helped us carry our luggage up a few steps to access the lift. A ramp would be a great addition

5 min from the main railway station, the apartment is located on a quite street in nice historic building. It has an elevator, which is great advantage. The administrator at the reception was super nice and welcoming! I was provided with inner-yard looking apartment which was great for a quite night sleep. And there was welcome snack and water - such a pleasant touch. Apartment has everything for comfort stay including big fridge, safety box and comfy bed.

The bathroom facilities and furniture are a bit tired but super clean and very well taken care of.

Location is quiet and is 5 min walk away from Milan Centrale train station. My apartment was on the 4th floor which i like on a high floor. Its big, spacious, and comfortable and clean. It felt like a home in milan while away from home. Although no 24h reception, I felt very safe with the double security door. The beautiful nostalgic lift in the building centre is very cute, it felt like I've returned to a previous era. There are shopping, restaurants, Cafe, bistros in centrale station. I bought bottled water and food from there.

A little difficult to communicate with the staff on the after hours phone line. It was annoying as a very simple question was not listened to but only after giving out a contact phone number per request. Even then, the staff was mistaken about my next day check out for check in. So what's the point of asking? Housekeeping was missed on day 2, a weekday. Despite all these which I think were minor issues, I would still return to stay here as its very comfortable, safe, and convenient.

Very clean, quiet and large apartment. Very convenient and not far from Milan Centrale station and a subway stop just outside the door. Having 3 sets of washer/dryers was fantastic to get laundry done.

There are a few steps to get to the lift. As the reception is only attended during day time, it would be good to provide some ramps to move luggage from the front door to make it easier for guests with large luggage. A minor one but there were no tissues provided in our room.
