The property itself was very large. Our room was average size but then it had a lounge and dining areas to share. Food was very plentiful with only us to eat it which didn’t seem very practical but the breakfast was nice. There were lots of cakes but we were the only people there to eat them . Very lovely freshly cooked baked items at breakfast as well as eggs

There was a big problem resulting in closure of the main road in and road to car park. After check in there were no staff to contact and no response to messages and no one answering the phone. We didn’t see anyone till the next morning. It worried me that in an emergency like even losing your key you’re on your own .

We absolutely adored our stay at this 1000-year-old building/place! We loved the location right in the middle of the old city Montepulciano. It was great to be able to use the 20 ft high ceiling historic room living room with chairs, sofas, table & chairs to carry on conversations with friends, making our evenings feel cozy and intimate. While it's a magnificent old place, we were pleasantly surprised by the updated bathroom & firm bed which provided modern comfort without detracting from the charm. The host family was able to renovate to keep the old as old truly exudes enchantment, allowed us to step back in time while still enjoying the necessary amenities. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful blend of ancient grandeur and subtle modern conveniences that made our visit both comfortable and truly magical. The breakfast prepared by the family's mother and served on a white clothed oversized table & ironed white cloth placemat, with made to order food, plenty of fruits were amazing & delicious! We enjoyed the private setting and the dining. In some sense, we appreciated this more than most of the high-end hotel. I would tailor my next trip based on this hotel and book extended stays here next time. I will schedule my visits to Montepulciano & Toscana vicinities and come back to this hotel to unwind and enjoy.

Il Tosco was a fabulous hotel. Everything was perfect. Elena was charming and responsive to all of our needs both pre-travel and whiles staying there. Angelina was an incredible hostess/manager and handled all of our needs quickly and professionally. The breakfast was superior and the cakes were awesome -- make sure you try each one. The history of the place was very interesting (built in the 1200's) and we felt very warm and comfortable there. The views from our window of the Tuscan countryside was fabulous. I will return here always on future trips to Montepulciano. The Location is great as it is easy to walk anywhere in Montepulciano from their location. Thank you Il Tosco for a wonderful stay. Nothing! It was perfect!

The location was perfect as it it was a two minute walk to the center of town and was on the top side of the village. The view from the room was truly Tuscany and beautiful. The staff was friendly and was easy to communicate with as they all spoke English. The rooms were 5 star for size, comfort and cleanliness. The breakfast was over the top, with all the traditional food with eggs and omelets made to order. They also brought out an additional treat each morning be it a Quiche, chocolate torte or some other Tuscan traditional dish. The kitchen was always open with snacks and cakes no matter what time of day. If you are staying in Montepulciano I would look no further than II Tosco. Elana and her parents as well as Angelique go out of their way to ensure a great visit. Thanks for making our trip to Montepulciano a great and memorable experience.

Traveled to Venice, Florence and Rome. II Tosco in Montepulciano was the best stay of them all. The staff was amazing, friendly and attended to our every need. The owners greeted us in the morning with an amazing breakfast and were so welcoming. The rooms are clean, beautiful, and comfortable. We will definitely return.

Breakfasts were amazing! The staff were very accomodating. The owner is the chef and does all the baking. In addition to the breakfast, the kitchen is open with baked goods and beverages all the time. Angelina made sure our stay was perfect. When Angelina wasn't there Jenifer was there to help when we needed it. The location was great if you want to be in the historic area. We walked to restaurants and shops. Il tosco is a beautifully restored historic building. The rooms have all needed amenities, the air conditioning and wifi work well, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are well equipped. One note, IlTosco is on the first floor, which in Italy is not on the ground floor. Il Tosco is about 20 stairs up. The steps are not steep, easy to climb with a landing in the middle. However, we had a lot of luggage and both my husband and I have knee and back issues and could not carry all our luggage up. Angelina and Jennifer promptly carried all the luggage up. They made dinner reservations for us at great nearby restaurants. As I said earlier, they did everything they could to make our stay very enjoyable.

If you book Il Tosco you will have a wonderful stay and not want to leave. Pure Luxury from start to finish. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice and extra treats appearing from the kitchen. Home made cake and fresh coffee available 24hrs, too. Beautiful property and our room looked out on the Tuscan countryside. Super large bathroom with a jet bath tub. Elena helped us with dinner and wine tour reservations which was great.. Thank you. All the staff were lovely and made our stay memorable. Having parking included close by was a plus.

The room was far too hot for us, and despite the advert showing air conditioning (which is why we chose this property) there was none. That resulted in two very uncomfortable and stuffy nights of quite poor sleep. Otherwise the property was perfectly suitable for a short visit to Montepulciano.

What an amazing spot! We were just in awe of Il Tosco and all of Montelpuciano. Tucked high on the hill, it was such a special place for our Tuscan family get away. We were able to walk all over town and easily access our car when we wanted to take day trips. Breakfast each morning was fit for a king and queen. The rooms were so comfortable and charming and the staff was TOP NOTCH. Everything from making special order pancakes to helping set up horse back riding in town for the kids, they were a wealth of knowledge and went above and beyond for us. Thank you, thank you!

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts we have had, with a wide range of options and served in a classic dining room. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, and we had good sized room with a very comfortable bed and an amazing large shower. We really appreciated having access to a kitchen with free coffee, tea, water, fruit and even cakes (!), the complimentary wine and cantucci. Staff were very friendly and helpful. An excellent base to explore Montepulciano from.

Only thing I can say is that it wasn't the cheapest option, but was worth it.
